To enter a Splatoon 3 Salmon Run tournament, open the event’s overview in Tournament Manager through the Nintendo Switch App (SplatNet 3), choose an available division, and complete the roster before registration closes. The event may be searchable, or its organizer may send an invitation link. On tournament day, players enter the Tournament Manager room from the Friends menu in the Grizzco lobby; simply playing Big Run or a regular Salmon Run shift does not register you for a competition.
The clearest currently announced example is Nintendo’s Golden Egg Feast 2026, scheduled for November 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon Pacific Time. Registration opened October 26 at 9 a.m. PT and closes at 9:30 a.m. PT on event day. Recheck the official notice after November 7 because this is a dated event, not proof of an annual recurring tournament.
How do I join a Salmon Run tournament in Splatoon 3?
The entry path is Tournament Manager in SplatNet 3, accessed through the Nintendo Switch App. Follow the organizer’s event link or find the event in Tournament Manager, then finish the division and roster steps shown in the event overview.
- Find an event. Start with a Nintendo announcement, a community organizer’s current event page, or a Tournament Manager search result. Organizers can choose whether an event appears in search; events with a combined participant cap of eight or fewer cannot select the search-display option, so an invitation-only event may not appear in results. Organizer guidance is documented at Nintendo’s Tournament Manager organizer help.
- Open the overview. In the Nintendo Switch App, open SplatNet 3 and load the tournament overview URL supplied by the organizer or shown in search. Check the local start time, registration deadline, region, divisions, scoring method, permitted shifts, schedule and any organizer rules before entering. Nintendo’s participant instructions are at the Tournament Manager participant help page.
- Select Enter Tournament. Choose the offered division. Create a team name or select an existing team; the person who enters becomes captain.
- Complete the roster. Send the team invitation link or direct invitation to the other entrants. Each invitee must select Join. A team that does not reach the division’s required number of entrants by the registration deadline can be disqualified.
- Play from the correct room. At the scheduled start, open the Friends menu in the Grizzco lobby and enter the Tournament Manager room. Complete shifts there, then use Tournament Manager to view rankings and results. Do not substitute the general Private Battle tournament instructions; those describe another mode.
- Follow the displayed schedule. If the competition has preliminaries and finals, Tournament Manager shows the interval between them. Some events are finals-only, so use the event’s posted timetable rather than assuming every Salmon Run tournament has the same stages.
Save the overview link and note the deadline in your own time zone. A captain can enter minutes before the cutoff, but invitations still need to be accepted before registration closes. Check that every person is listed in the intended division rather than assuming a chat agreement completed the official entry.

What do I need before registering?
Requirements depend on the organizer. For Golden Egg Feast 2026, the official rules require all of the following:
- A qualifying Nintendo Switch system and Splatoon 3.
- A Nintendo Account and reliable internet connection.
- The Nintendo Switch App for SplatNet 3 and Tournament Manager.
- A Nintendo Switch Online membership; the event rules allow a qualifying trial membership.
- Residence and physical presence in the United States (including Washington, D.C.), Canada or Mexico while participating.
- Minimum age of 13 in the United States and Canada, or 18 in Mexico.
“Resident” and “physically participating” are separate checks in the Golden Egg Feast rules. Being eligible by address does not permit playing from outside the listed territories during the event. Community events can set different regions, ages, account requirements or proof-of-eligibility rules, so do not transfer Nintendo’s North American conditions to every organizer.
The rules do not make amiibo, a headset, a special controller, a gaming chair, streaming software or a PC utility necessary. You also do not buy a competitive advantage: the practical purchases are only the console, game and online access if you do not already have them. Confirm retailer availability and edition details yourself before purchasing Splatoon 3; an event requirement is not a promise that a particular shop has stock.

What is the currently announced Golden Egg Feast 2026 tournament?
Golden Egg Feast 2026 is a 120-minute, finals-only Salmon Run competition. Registration closes shortly before play begins, and four entry divisions let you enter alone or with a partly assembled group.

Read Nintendo’s event announcement for the registration and schedule notice: Golden Egg Feast 2026 tournament announcement. The prize value is Nintendo’s approximate retail estimate, not a cash pool or guaranteed cash payout. The rules identify 30 winning players, not 30 teams, so read the prize terms for your division and do not assume every teammate receives an identical item.
Because registration closes at 9:30 a.m. PT and play starts at 10 a.m. PT, leave time to update the app, confirm the room and resolve an invitation problem. Do not wait for the start signal to discover that your division is short an entrant.
How does Golden Egg Feast scoring work?
The event uses Top Score rules. Teams may complete multiple shifts during the tournament period, but the score is based on the best four-shift Golden Egg total and the most scale points earned in one shift. A defeat deducts 30 points in wave one, 10 points in wave two or 5 points in wave three.

Those deductions make a failed early wave more costly than a failed third wave, but the published rules still control the calculation; do not invent a separate bonus for surviving or assume every completed shift replaces a previous one. Keep track of which four shifts are being counted and which single shift produced the scale-point result.
Ties are resolved in this order: Golden Eggs, Power Eggs, overall speed, then entry number. Nintendo had not yet announced the stage, supplied weapons or King Salmonid in the published rules; those details are to appear in Tournament Manager within one week of the event, so do not plan around an assumed stage or weapon set.

The rules name 30 winning players: 10 Grand Prize winners, 10 First Prize winners and 10 Second Prize winners. Nintendo lists an approximate total retail value of $8,990 for the prizes. The rules also describe the competition as skill-based.
Can I enter without a full four-player team?
Yes. Golden Egg Feast offers Solo, Pair, Trio and Team divisions. Tournament Manager can fill shifts for smaller entries with other players, but you still must complete the chosen division’s required roster by the registration deadline.
This is different from simply queueing for a public Salmon Run job. Select the division first, make the official entry, and use the event’s matching or invitation process. A person you meet in an ordinary job is not automatically attached to your tournament entry.
When a captain sends invitations, recipients must use the invitation link or direct invitation and select Join. Check the event overview for any organizer-specific matching rules. Nintendo also states that a division with fewer than two entered teams is canceled, so registering early does not guarantee that a division will run.

How does Tournament Manager score Salmon Run events?
Tournament Manager supports three scoring methods, and the director chooses which one applies:
- Specified-number-of-shifts total: the event counts a set number of completed shifts.
- All-shifts total: every qualifying shift during the event window contributes to the total.
- Top Score: the event uses the best qualifying performance under its stated Top Score rules.
The system supports tournaments using Regular Jobs and Big Runs. A director can limit the number of shifts, define which shifts count, set divisions and publish additional rules. Therefore, Golden Egg Feast’s four-shift calculation should not be treated as the standard for every competition. The general rules are documented at Nintendo’s Salmon Run Tournament Manager rules.
Before entering, look for wording that defines whether a shift must be completed, whether only the event room counts, and whether a preliminary score carries into a final. A tournament may use the same Tournament Manager interface while applying a different shift count or a different combination of Golden Eggs, Power Eggs, scales and speed. Copy the organizer’s scoring table rather than relying on experience from another event.

How can I find more Salmon Run competitions?
There is no verified, complete calendar of currently open community Salmon Run tournaments. Use several discovery routes, then verify that the specific event is accepting entries.

Nintendo’s competitive-play announcements are the most reliable source for Nintendo-run events. Confirm the region, age requirement, registration window and whether the event is actually Salmon Run rather than another Splatoon 3 format.
2. Search Tournament Manager
Search in SplatNet 3 for events that are visible to participants. If a small event is not listed, ask the organizer for its overview URL or invitation; an absent search result does not prove that the event is closed.
3. Follow current organizer announcements
Community organizers may publish a registration page, rules and a Tournament Manager link on their own site or social channel. Verify the event date, entry cutoff, roster size, scoring and region on the current announcement rather than relying on an old post. Ask where disputes, disconnects and late arrivals are handled if those policies are not linked.
4. Treat old registration pages as historical leads
For example, the SeaBATTLE! Royale organizer advertised a Salmon Run tournament with a start.gg registration page for April 4, 2026. That event has passed; its page can show how to discover events, but it is not evidence of an upcoming opening.
When a post says “registration open,” check its year and time zone. A social announcement can remain visible after its entry form closes, and a start.gg page can remain indexed after the event ends. Use the organizer’s newest update and the Tournament Manager overview as the final authority.
What should I compare before choosing an event?
When several genuine options are available, compare the rules that change whether you can enter and how you will play.

Also compare whether the organizer supplies teammates, whether substitutions are allowed, and what happens if fewer than two teams enter. These details affect the practical cost of joining: a Nintendo event may list no entry charge while a community organizer can set a fee or require travel to a venue. Never assume a prize announcement means entry is free, or that a free event has no equipment or online-service requirement.
What happens on tournament day?
- Open the Nintendo Switch App and confirm the tournament’s displayed start time and division.
- Make sure every registered entrant is using the correct Nintendo Account and is available before the start.
- From the Grizzco lobby in Splatoon 3, open Friends and select the Tournament Manager room.
- Play only the shifts and modes that the event counts. Keep an eye on the event’s remaining time and any shift limit.
- Use Tournament Manager to check standings and results. If the event includes a finals interval, follow the displayed schedule rather than leaving after preliminaries.
Keep the event overview open on a phone or second screen so you can check the cutoff, scoring and room instructions without guessing. If the organizer publishes a correction, use the corrected overview or announcement. Do not submit extra ordinary jobs expecting them to be added later; only qualifying shifts recorded through the tournament process count.

What can go wrong during registration?
The event does not appear in search
The organizer may have disabled search visibility, or the event may be small enough that the search-display option is unavailable. Request the organizer’s overview URL or invitation link.
My team is short a player
Choose a Solo, Pair or Trio division if offered, or use Tournament Manager’s matching for smaller entries. Confirm the required roster and complete it before the registration cutoff; an incomplete team can be disqualified.
I can play Salmon Run but cannot enter the tournament room
Playing a normal job or Big Run does not itself enroll you. Reopen the tournament overview, confirm that your entry was accepted, then join through Friends in the Grizzco lobby at the scheduled time.
The event is listed but may be canceled
Check whether the division has at least two entered teams. Nintendo’s rules say divisions with fewer than two teams are canceled, and a community organizer may publish additional cancellation conditions.
I entered, but my roster is not complete
Ask the captain to resend the invitation or direct invitation and have the missing entrant select Join. A message in a team chat is not enough if the Tournament Manager roster still shows a vacancy. Resolve the issue before the displayed registration deadline.
The announced stage or weapons are missing
For Golden Egg Feast 2026, Nintendo says the stage, supplied weapons and King Salmonid will appear in Tournament Manager within one week of the event. Do not treat an unannounced detail as confirmed, and do not rely on a stage or weapon list copied from an older event.
What should players outside North America do?
Golden Egg Feast 2026 is limited to eligible residents physically participating in the United States, Canada or Mexico, with minimum ages of 13 in the United States and Canada and 18 in Mexico. An Australian or New Zealand player cannot enter that event merely by finding an invitation link. Look for a local organizer whose rules expressly include your country, and verify its time zone, roster process and online requirements.
How we identified the right entry route
The selection criteria are practical rather than popularity-based: an event must have a current, verifiable announcement or organizer page; clearly state region, age, dates and registration deadlines; explain its Tournament Manager entry path; and identify divisions, scoring and roster requirements. Past events are useful discovery examples only when their dates are clearly marked as ended.

Can players from Australia or New Zealand enter Golden Egg Feast 2026?
No. The published rules for Golden Egg Feast 2026 limit participation to eligible residents who are physically in the United States, Canada or Mexico. Players elsewhere need a local organizer whose rules expressly include their country; do not infer eligibility from a community post or an old registration page.

Do I need four friends before I register?
Not necessarily. If the organizer offers Solo, Pair or Trio divisions, Tournament Manager can place smaller entries with other players, subject to that event’s matching rules and roster deadline.
Can I join someone else’s team?
Yes, if the captain sends you the event invitation link or direct invitation and the division still accepts entrants. Open the invitation, select Join, and confirm that your name appears on the official roster before the deadline. A normal Salmon Run friendship or public-job pairing does not create tournament membership.
Is a Nintendo Switch Online trial enough for tournament entry?
Golden Egg Feast 2026’s rules allow a qualifying Nintendo Switch Online trial, but the allowance belongs to that event. Another organizer may require a paid or active membership, so read the current event overview and rules.

Where do I see my Salmon Run tournament ranking?
After entering the Tournament Manager room and completing qualifying shifts, use Tournament Manager in SplatNet 3 to view rankings and published results. The ordinary Grizzco job history is not a substitute for the tournament standings.
Does playing Big Run count as entering a tournament?
No. Tournament Manager can score events that use Big Runs, but you must enter the specific registered competition and follow its room and shift instructions. Playing Big Run on its own does not create a tournament entry.
