1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesYes, you can use browser extensions on some Android browsers, but support depends on the browser and the specific add-on. An extension’s permissions determine what it is capable of accessing—such as page content, tabs, history, cookies, or network requests—while its code and privacy practices determine whether it actually uses or shares that information.
Can you use browser extensions on Android?
Android does not provide one universal extension system. Each browser decides whether to offer extensions, which add-ons are compatible, and which browser APIs they can use. Mozilla provides an add-ons manager and catalog in Firefox for Android, but warns that some add-ons are not compatible with Android. A UK Competition and Markets Authority report says Chrome does not support browser extensions, while Firefox and Edge offer them on Android. That report is useful platform context, not a complete, up-to-date directory of every Android browser or add-on. Mozilla’s Firefox for Android instructions and the CMA report describe these respective points.
Compatibility is specific to the browser and add-on
An extension made for a desktop browser is not automatically usable on Android. The mobile browser must support the extension, and the add-on must work with that browser’s available APIs and version. Check the Android browser’s own catalog or manager for the specific extension rather than relying on its desktop listing.
How extension permissions work
Permissions are the boundary between what an extension could do and what it cannot do through the browser. The exact system varies by browser. In Chrome’s documented extension platform, developers declare API permissions and host permissions. API permissions enable particular browser features; host permissions specify which website addresses the extension may interact with. Chrome’s documentation describes capabilities that can include reading selected tab properties, injecting content scripts, accessing cookies, observing or controlling network requests, and redirecting requests or modifying headers. An extension may also request some optional permissions later, when a feature needs them. These are Chrome platform concepts, not a guarantee that every Android browser offers the same APIs or controls. See Chrome’s permissions documentation.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
For users, the important question is what access the browser asks you to grant and how broadly it applies. Site access to all websites can let an extension read, request, or modify information on every page you visit. Google’s help documentation also describes permissions involving browsing history, bookmarks, tabs, location, and clipboard data. A warning signals capability; it does not establish that an extension is dangerous or that it will use every capability. Google says, “The warning doesn’t mean the app is dangerous, just that it can be.” Google’s permission guide is specifically about Chrome extensions and includes desktop-oriented instructions, not Android Chrome controls.
What an Android browser extension may access
The answer depends on the browser’s implementation, the permissions granted, the sites covered, and the extension’s code. The following are possible categories, not a claim that every extension can access them:
Rank #2
- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
- Web-page content and activity: Depending on its site access and APIs, an extension may interact with page text, images, links, embedded material, or user interactions. Mozilla’s disclosure categories include website content and browsing activity.
- Browser records: Depending on granted permissions, browser data may include history, bookmarks, or tab details such as URLs and titles. Some capabilities can also open, close, or navigate tabs.
- Cookies and network requests: Chrome’s extension documentation describes cookie access and the ability to observe or modify network requests when the relevant permissions and APIs are available. This should not be assumed for every Android browser.
- Other sensitive information: Mozilla’s data-disclosure categories include authentication information, communications, location, financial or payment information, health information, and personally identifying information. These are categories an extension may disclose as collected or transmitted—not proof that every extension accesses them.
Mozilla’s disclosure guidance includes browsing activity and website content, including embedded data such as cookies and request or response information. Those disclosures help describe what an extension says it collects or transmits; they do not replace a permission review. See Mozilla’s add-on data-collection and privacy policies.
Permissions are not the same as data collection
A permission gives an extension potential access. It does not, by itself, prove that the extension uses that access, stores the resulting information, or sends it to someone else. Those practices depend on the extension’s implementation and its disclosed data use. Review both: the permission list shows what the extension may be able to do, while its privacy disclosures describe what it says it collects or transmits.

Extension permissions versus Android app permissions
Do not treat an extension’s access to websites as blanket access to the phone. A website asking to use the camera or location through a browser, Android granting a device permission to the browser app, and an extension requesting access to website content are separate permission layers. Browser-extension permissions concern browser APIs and web data; the documentation cited here does not establish automatic access to every phone file, sensor, or device resource.
How to check and limit extension access
Before installing
- Confirm that the browser offers extensions on Android and that the specific add-on supports Android.
- Read the requested permissions in relation to the feature. Ask whether access to all sites is necessary, or whether the browser or extension offers narrower site access or optional permissions.
- Review the extension’s data-collection disclosures separately from its permission list.
In Firefox for Android
- Open Firefox’s menu and select Add-ons to view and manage extensions. The exact menu presentation may vary by release.
- Open an extension’s details to inspect its permissions. Mozilla says Firefox displays requested access during installation and lets users review permissions in the add-ons manager.
- For extensions that support optional permissions, use the controls in the extension details to toggle them. Firefox for Android version 128 introduced optional-permission controls; Mozilla says a prompt appears the first time an extension tries to use an optional feature. See Mozilla’s optional-permissions instructions, last updated June 3, 2024.
Other Android browsers may present different permission screens and controls. Google’s site-access instructions describe managing extensions “on your computer,” so do not use those steps as if they were Chrome for Android settings.

How to judge whether a permission makes sense
Match the requested scope to the extension’s stated purpose. An extension that changes pages you visit may need some page access; access to every website, browsing records, or network requests deserves closer scrutiny if the feature does not appear to require it. A broad permission is not proof of misuse, but it increases the potential impact if the extension behaves unexpectedly or is compromised. Prefer the narrowest available site scope, grant optional permissions only when needed, and disable or remove an extension you no longer use.
