The Garmin CIRQA is a screen-free fitness band with convincing, but not flawless, heart-rate results in early reviewer tests. TechRadar recorded readings close to a comparison device in one short test and mostly within 2–3 bpm of a Polar H10 during longer testing; a strength session was a notable exception. That is promising for everyday fitness tracking, not proof of medical-grade accuracy. CIRQA is most appealing if you want Garmin Connect, phone-connected GPS and continuous tracking without wearing a watch or paying a subscription for core use. It is a poorer fit if you need a screen, built-in GPS or richer app interpretation.
What is the Garmin CIRQA?
Garmin announced CIRQA on July 21, 2026, as its first screen-free smart band. It is a wrist-worn tracker without a display: it monitors health and fitness data and presents that information through Garmin Connect on a compatible phone. Garmin describes it as a 24/7 tracker, supports more than 80 activities, and says its core use does not require a subscription.
The screenless design changes how you use it. You cannot glance at the band for workout stats or notifications as you might with a watch. Instead, the band is intended to collect data while you wear it, with the phone app serving as the place to view it. That can suit someone who wants less on-wrist distraction, but it also makes the phone and app a more important part of the experience.
Garmin rates the band 5ATM water resistant. This is a water-resistance rating, not a promise that every water activity or exposure is suitable; follow Garmin’s current care and activity guidance for the device. CIRQA is offered in S-M and L-XL strap sizes. T3 reported that the sensor module measures 27 x 47 x 9 mm and weighs 14.8 g with the S-M strap. Colour options reported at launch were Black, French Grey, Captain Blue and Mauve.

How accurate is the Garmin CIRQA?
Early reviews found generally strong heart-rate tracking in ordinary workouts, but their results also show why one close reading should not be treated as a guarantee across activities. The evidence is reviewer testing from the July–October 2026 launch period, not a clinical validation study.
What the heart-rate tests found
- In an early strap comparison, TechRadar recorded 153 bpm on CIRQA, 2 bpm away from its comparison device. The reviewer called the result encouraging while explicitly noting that more testing was needed.
- In TechRadar’s longer testing, CIRQA was mostly within 2–3 bpm of a Polar H10 chest strap during workouts.
- The same longer test found a meaningful exception: during one 40-minute strength session, CIRQA’s average was 10 bpm off the Polar H10.
Together, these results suggest the band can track heart rate closely in many tested workouts, but performance may vary with the activity and conditions. The strength-session discrepancy matters if you rely on precise readings during lifting or intervals: wrist-based measurements can be less dependable during movement that involves gripping, wrist flexion or rapid changes in effort. That is a practical reason to treat the number as a training estimate rather than an exact measurement. The test evidence does not establish a universal error range for every user or workout.
What about activity tracking?
Garmin says CIRQA supports more than 80 activities. That breadth is useful if you want to record different types of exercise in one ecosystem, but it does not mean every activity is detected or categorized perfectly. Expert Reviews reported that the band missed or miscategorised a couple of auto-logged activities during its testing. If a workout matters to your record, select or confirm the activity in Garmin Connect rather than assuming automatic logging will always identify it correctly.

These are favorable assessments, but they do not remove the limitations shown by the specific test results. No reviewer evidence here establishes clinical accuracy, and CIRQA should not be used to diagnose a condition or replace medical equipment.
Does the Garmin CIRQA need a subscription?
No subscription is required for CIRQA’s core use, according to Garmin’s July 21, 2026 announcement. The band works through Garmin Connect, and Garmin described its basic health monitoring and activity tracking as subscription-free. That makes the upfront purchase easier to assess than a tracker whose essential metrics require a recurring fee.

That statement applies to core use, not necessarily every optional service or future app feature. Garmin has optional Connect+ benefits, and availability or terms can change. Check the current Garmin Connect and Connect+ descriptions in your region before buying if a particular premium feature is part of your decision. Wareable also found CIRQA’s software less context-rich than Whoop or Oura, so free access to core data does not automatically mean the app provides the same depth of interpretation as every subscription-based alternative.
How long does the Garmin CIRQA battery last?
Garmin rates CIRQA for up to 10 days per charge. That is a maximum claim rather than a guaranteed runtime for every wearer and usage pattern. T3’s discharge test reached 12% after a little over eight days, suggesting the band could approach Garmin’s stated maximum under that reviewer’s test pattern.

Still, the available test does not specify a universal result for all settings, activity use or phone configurations, so it is more useful as a real-world indication than as a promise that every charge will last exactly 10 days.
Does the Garmin CIRQA have GPS?
CIRQA does not have onboard GPS. It uses connected GPS through a compatible iPhone or Android phone, so route tracking depends on having the phone with you and connected during the activity.
This distinction is easy to miss when comparing fitness trackers. Connected GPS can provide route data without putting a GPS receiver in the band, but it is not independent location tracking. If you leave your phone behind, do not expect CIRQA to record a GPS route on its own. Garmin also lists LiveTrack, which can share activity information; the phone connection remains central to these connected features.

How much does the Garmin CIRQA cost?
Garmin’s US suggested retail price at launch was $199.99. Regional launch pricing reported by Garmin and independent reviewers varied by market:
Recommended Free Tools
| Market | Reported launch price | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| United States | $199.99 suggested retail price; also reported as $200 | Garmin’s US figure was $199.99; regional reports rounded it to $200. |
| United Kingdom | £180 | Reported launch-period regional price. |
| Europe | €200 | Reported launch-period regional price. |
| Australia | AU$299 | Reported launch-period regional price. |
| Singapore | SGD 279 | Reported launch-period regional price. |
These are launch-period reported prices, not a guarantee of current local pricing or stock. Retail prices, availability and optional Connect+ benefits can change. Compare the live price in your market with the value you place on a screen-free design, Garmin Connect and the absence of a required subscription for core features.
Is the Garmin CIRQA worth the price?
CIRQA is easier to justify if you specifically want a low-distraction band that records continuously, works with Garmin Connect and does not put core tracking behind a monthly fee. It is harder to justify if you want the convenience of a screen, independent GPS or unusually rich coaching and interpretation from the app. Expert Reviews considered it relatively expensive and somewhat bulky, while Wareable highlighted its comfort and dependable battery life; those observations point to fit and priorities as well as raw features.
Choose CIRQA if you want
- A display-free wearable for ongoing health and fitness monitoring.
- Garmin Connect and support for more than 80 activities.
- Core use without a required subscription.
- A band rated 5ATM water resistant and rated for up to 10 days of battery life.
Consider another kind of tracker if you need
- A screen for live stats, time or on-device interaction.
- Onboard GPS for route recording without carrying a phone.
- More interpretive app insights: Wareable found CIRQA less context-rich than Whoop or Oura.
- Consistently precise heart-rate readings for every exercise type; the strength-session result in TechRadar’s test shows that performance can vary.
How does CIRQA compare with Fitbit Air, Whoop, Polar Loop, Amazfit Helio and a Garmin watch?
The available launch-period evidence supports a useful comparison of the trade-offs, but not a full specification or price ranking of these alternatives. It identifies CIRQA’s screenless operation, connected GPS, core subscription-free use and reviewer-tested heart-rate results; it does not provide comparable prices or feature-by-feature test results for Fitbit Air, Polar Loop or Amazfit Helio.
| Choice | What the available evidence establishes | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|
| Garmin CIRQA | No display; connected GPS through a compatible phone; core use without a required subscription; more than 80 activities. | Best aligned with a screen-free Garmin setup if phone-dependent GPS is acceptable. |
| Whoop | Wareable described its app context as richer than CIRQA’s. | Compare current membership terms and features directly; the launch-period evidence here does not establish its current price or complete specification. |
| Fitbit Air | No comparable specifications or test results are established in the available launch-period coverage. | Check its current display, GPS, subscription and app terms before comparing total cost. |
| Polar Loop | No comparable specifications or test results are established in the available launch-period coverage. | Compare supported activities, app interpretation and GPS requirements using current product details. |
| Amazfit Helio | No comparable specifications or test results are established in the available launch-period coverage. | Check current regional pricing and the exact tracking features you need. |
| Garmin watch | A watch is the display-equipped alternative within Garmin’s ecosystem; no specific model comparison is established here. | Choose a watch if on-device information or standalone GPS is important, and compare model-level features before purchase. |
This comparison is deliberately limited: prices, availability, firmware and app features can change, and a launch-period review set cannot establish a winner across every use case. A direct purchase decision should compare the particular model and current plan terms available in your region, especially if standalone GPS or paid app features matter to you.

What should you check before buying?
Because CIRQA is a phone-connected, screen-free wearable, the best pre-purchase check is whether its operating model matches your routine—not only whether its sensor results look promising.
- Confirm your phone is compatible. Connected GPS depends on a compatible iPhone or Android phone, and Garmin Connect is central to viewing the band’s data.
- Decide whether you can go without a display. You will use the phone app to view data rather than reading workout information from the band itself.
- Choose the right strap size. CIRQA is reported in S-M and L-XL sizes; its sensor module is 27 x 47 x 9 mm, so consider its physical footprint if you prefer a very slim wearable.
- Check what your preferred features cost. Core use does not require a subscription, but optional Connect+ benefits and current terms should be verified if you intend to use them.
- Match the tracker to your training. The review evidence is encouraging overall, but the reported 10 bpm deviation during one strength session is relevant if strength-workout heart rate is a priority.
As a first screen-free Garmin band, CIRQA makes a specific trade: it favors unobtrusive, ongoing tracking over an on-device display. Early heart-rate results make its accuracy promising rather than settled, and its phone-dependent GPS is a firm limitation. For someone already comfortable with those constraints, the combination of Garmin Connect, broad activity support, long rated battery life and subscription-free core use is a coherent proposition; for everyone else, the missing screen or onboard GPS may matter more than the favorable test readings.
