No official delay to 2027 has been announced. As of 27 October 2026, Nintendo and FromSoftware still list The Duskbloods for release in 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2. However, there is no specific release date or launch window, and a September 24 date that briefly appeared in August was explicitly called inaccurate by Nintendo. The 2027 theory comes from the shrinking 2026 calendar, limited communication after the August network test and competition from other major releases—not from a delay notice.
Is The Duskbloods still coming in 2026?
Yes. The currently announced target remains a worldwide 2026 release for Nintendo Switch 2. FromSoftware announced the game on 2 April 2025 as a multiplayer action title built around online PvPvE play, and the official game site continues to display “2026年発売予定,” meaning scheduled for release in 2026.
Kadokawa reporting in February 2026 also reiterated a 2026 launch while noting that no specific date had been announced. The official site’s latest listed updates are the August 20–21, 2026 network-test guide, test notices and player survey.

Has The Duskbloods been delayed to 2027?
There is no evidence of an official 2027 delay. Fans are inferring one from timing and silence, but those signals do not change the published 2026 target.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Why the 2027 theory gained traction
- The 2026 calendar is becoming shorter without a date or even a release window.
- Substantial public information has been limited since the August closed network test.
- Other major releases could compete for attention late in the year.
- The test revealed a complex format that may require additional balancing and communication.
These are reasonable scheduling concerns, not confirmation that development has slipped. Until Nintendo or FromSoftware changes the year, 2026 is the only official target.
When is The Duskbloods release date?
No release date has been published. A preview briefly listed 24 September 2026 in August, but Nintendo responded that “The release date is inaccurate because there is no information regarding [the] release date of the Duskbloods.” That statement makes the September date unusable as a prediction and confirms that Nintendo had not supplied a date at that point.
A late announcement remains possible, but there is currently no official month, quarter or launch-day information to narrow the schedule.

What did the August network test reveal?
The August test was the first broad public opportunity to see how the game’s PvPvE design works. Reports described multi-round matches in which players contend with one another while also fighting enemies and responding to changing objectives, locations, characters and random events.
Player reactions were mixed
Some participants welcomed the ambition and variety. Others found the goals and reward structure difficult to understand, especially during early sessions. Reports also described network problems during the first session, followed by smoother operation in later sessions.
Those reactions do not prove a delay, but they identify areas FromSoftware may need to clarify or tune before launch. The test’s accompanying survey and notices remain the latest substantial public updates listed on the official site.

What kind of game is FromSoftware making?
The Duskbloods is designed as an online PvPvE action game rather than a conventional single-player release. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki said, “I’ve always found the PvPvE structure very interesting. It allows for a broad range of game-design ideas, while also letting us leverage our experience of designing challenging enemy encounters.”
The format puts player-versus-player decisions alongside hostile, system-driven threats. Because objectives and events can change between rounds, understanding the rules and reward flow will be as important as mastering combat.
What should players do while waiting?
- Use the official year as the baseline: treat 2026 as the announced target, not a guaranteed launch date.
- Ignore the September 24 listing: Nintendo explicitly described it as inaccurate.
- Watch official announcements: a real date will need to come from Nintendo or FromSoftware.
- Plan for the hardware requirement: the game is announced for Nintendo Switch 2, with no original Nintendo Switch version identified.
- Expect more information about the online format: the network test showed that objective clarity, rewards and connection performance are central to the final experience.
What would count as proof of a 2027 delay?
A revised year on the official game site, a Nintendo or FromSoftware announcement, or a formal release-window change would establish a delay. Calendar speculation, retailer placeholders and unsourced preview dates do not meet that standard.

Did the network test guarantee a 2026 launch?
No. A network test demonstrates that online systems are being evaluated, but it is not a release commitment. The official target remains 2026 while the date itself is still unpublished.
Why might the game need more development time after the test?
Reports from the test pointed to confusing objectives and rewards for some players, along with connection trouble in the first session. Addressing those issues could require design changes or additional testing, although neither company has said that this caused a delay.
