You can edit an existing GTA Online character by opening the Interaction Menu and choosing Style or Appearance, then Change Appearance. The editor lets you alter heritage, facial features, other appearance settings, and apparel for a fee. It cannot change the character’s gender after the original character-creation process, and it does not reset established skills or statistics. If you need a different gender or a fresh skill allocation, you must create a separate character instead.
How do I change my GTA Online character’s appearance?
Use the Change Appearance editor from the character’s Interaction Menu. This edits the character you are currently playing; it is not a deletion, replacement, or progression-reset procedure.
What you need before opening the editor
- Enter GTA Online freemode with the character you want to modify.
- Have enough GTA$ for the fee displayed by the game.

Steps on the current game interface
- Load GTA Online freemode using the character you intend to edit.

- Adjust the available heritage, parent selections, facial features, appearance settings, and apparel.

Rockstar says the supported route is through the Style section of the Interaction Menu and that a fee applies. Its support guidance, dated April 20, 2024, specifically names the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions. Later updates may change wording or placement, but the current in-game menu is the authority for what your installation offers.

Heritage and parent selections
You can revisit the heritage and parent choices exposed by the character editor. These settings influence the character’s facial foundation rather than creating a new account character.
Facial features and appearance settings
Features and other appearance controls available in the editor can be adjusted. The exact controls shown are the ones exposed by your current version of the creator.
Apparel
Ordinary appearance-related apparel selections can be changed in the editor. After saving, inspect your saved outfits because the available evidence does not establish that every saved or unusual outfit survives every edit unchanged.

Can I change my GTA Online character from male to female?

What to do if you need another gender
Create a separate GTA Online character through the game’s character-management flow. That is a new-character decision, not an appearance edit, so do not spend the Change Appearance fee expecting it to unlock a gender switch.

Will I lose my saved outfits after changing appearance?
