Do not confuse a general volume control with a creator safeguard. Turning a slider down may reduce a sound in your headphones while leaving a different mix in the capture feed, and a control called “music” may cover only one category. The only dependable answer will come from the retail game’s displayed behavior and a recording made through the same setup you plan to use.
What kinds of music must you check separately?
GTA 6’s announced audio is not one single music source. Rockstar describes in-game radio and podcasts, an adaptive original score by Justice, and separate music albums. A control that silences one category may leave another category audible, so a radio-only test cannot establish that a stream is free of every potentially claimable song.
Radio and podcasts

Adaptive original score
Rockstar says the game includes an adaptive original score by Justice. Adaptive music can change with gameplay, which means a quiet drive and a high-action sequence may not contain the same musical material. A test that covers only one scene cannot prove that the score is absent everywhere.
Include a calm exploration segment, a chase or combat sequence, a mission transition, and a return to free roam. Listen below dialogue and sound effects, where a low-level score is easiest to miss. If the game offers separate score and effects controls, record the displayed labels and test each one independently.
Albums and announced track counts
Rockstar’s music page announces a 30-track original-score album for December 11, 2026 and a 34-track Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album for November 19, 2026. Those are album track counts supplied by Rockstar, not counts of songs heard during gameplay and not a list of tracks that will trigger claims. How does YouTube handle GTA 6 music in uploads and live streams?

Uploaded videos and Content ID

YouTube also scans live streams for third-party material. Its platform documentation states: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If YouTube detects a match, a stream can be interrupted or terminated. A Content ID claim on an archived livestream is made after the stream concludes, so a broadcast that finishes normally can still receive a claim later.
These are YouTube-specific mechanisms. Do not present them as Twitch rules or assume another service uses the same detection, interruption, or dispute process. Check the service you plan to use for its current music policy. A platform’s policy can also distinguish live detection from its treatment of an uploaded archive, so keep those risks separate in your planning.

Can OBS remove a particular GTA 6 song while keeping the rest of the game audio?
OBS documents choosing audio input and output devices for capture, but it does not document an ordinary device-control switch that surgically removes one song from already mixed game audio while retaining dialogue, effects, and other sound.
