Google’s U.S. listing now starts the Pixel 10a at $599, up $100 from its $499 launch price. The current figure is for the 128GB model, according to October 2, 2026 reporting; Google’s live specifications page lists the phone “From $599.” That is a meaningful increase for a phone positioned around core Pixel features at a lower price, and Google has not publicly explained the change in the cited coverage.
What changed in the Pixel 10a’s price?
Google announced the Pixel 10a on February 18, 2026, with a U.S. starting price of $499 and availability beginning March 5. On October 2, Google’s U.S. specifications page showed a starting price of $599. 9to5Google reported that the 128GB model was now $599 and the 256GB model $699, making the base model’s change $100 compared with launch.
Google’s announcement described the phone as offering “core Pixel experiences” for $499. That was its launch-period price, not the current listed starting price. Check Google’s Pixel 10a specifications page for the latest listing before buying: the reported change is recent, and prices or retailer availability can move.
How do the reported prices differ by region?
The October 2 reports also identified higher current Google Store prices in Canada, the UK, and Europe. These are local-currency prices, not direct conversions of the U.S. increase; prior prices and timing differ by market.

| Market | Reported current price | Earlier price context |
|---|---|---|
| United States | $599 for 128GB; $699 for 256GB, reported October 2, 2026 by 9to5Google | $499 U.S. launch price, announced February 18, 2026 by Google |

| United Kingdom | £599, reported October 2, 2026 by 9to5Google | Android Authority reports an archived listing at £429 shortly before October 2, compared with a £499 launch price: Android Authority |
| Europe | €649, reported October 2, 2026 by 9to5Google | not stated in the cited October 2 reporting |
Because the lower Canadian and UK listings were already below those markets’ launch prices, it would be misleading to describe every region’s change as the same $100 hike. The listed prices are a dated snapshot, not a guarantee of today’s checkout price.
Why did Google raise the price?
Google had not publicly explained the increase in the October 2 coverage. Reporters discussed memory and component costs as possible factors, but those are proposed explanations—not a confirmed Google rationale. The available reporting also does not establish that a forthcoming Pixel model caused this specific change.

What does the Pixel 10a offer at the new price?
Google lists a 6.3-inch Actua pOLED display with 1080 × 2424 resolution and a 60–120Hz refresh rate. The phone uses the Tensor G4 processor, a Titan M2 security coprocessor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of storage. Its rear cameras are a 48MP wide camera and a 13MP ultrawide camera. Google lists a typical 5,100mAh battery, wireless charging, and wired fast charging of up to 30W with a separately sold 45W USB-C PPS charger.
Long software support helps over time, but does not cancel the increase
Google promises seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates, counted from when the phone first became available on the Google Store in the U.S. That longer support window may matter to people who keep a phone for years, but it does not reduce the upfront price or make the 10a the right value for every buyer.

Water resistance has limits
Google says the Pixel 10a has IP68-rated water and dust protection and Gorilla Glass 7i. Its IP68 note says the phone is designed to comply with IEC 60529 when it leaves the factory, but is not waterproof or dust-proof; resistance can decline through normal wear, repair, disassembly, or damage. Liquid damage voids the warranty.

The price increase alone does not prove the Pixel 10a is a poor buy, but neither do its specifications establish that it is the best value at $599. Compare the live, unlocked price of the 128GB model with similarly priced phones before deciding. Weigh the factors that affect your use rather than comparing headline prices alone:

- Support: whether a rival offers a comparable update commitment.
- Cameras and performance: which matters more for your photos, apps, and games.
- Storage and charging: whether 128GB is enough and whether the charging setup suits you.
- Ecosystem: whether you prefer Google’s software and services.
- Real checkout cost: compare like-for-like unlocked configurations, accounting for current promotions or trade-ins rather than assuming the list price is what you will pay.
For a buyer who values Google’s software, cameras, and seven-year update commitment, the phone may still fit. If your priority is maximum hardware for the money, compare current alternatives at the same price before purchasing; promotions and trade-ins can change the calculation.
