For a direct comparison, the Google Pixel 10a and Samsung Galaxy A57 5G are the closest current matches by listed U.S. price. Choose Pixel if Google’s seven-year update promise or wireless charging matters most; choose the A57 if you prefer Samsung’s larger-screen Galaxy experience, a triple rear-camera setup, or faster wired charging. The right buy also depends on the price you can get today: Pixel 10a pricing reportedly rose in October 2026, so its original $499 launch price is no longer a safe basis for comparison.

How current prices change the recommendation
Pixel 10a launched in the U.S. at $499, with sales planned from March 5, 2026. Android Central reported on October 2 that its U.S. price had risen to $599 for 128GB and $699 for 256GB, and said Google had not explained the increase. That report is the basis for the current-price figures here; it does not establish Google’s reason for the change. Google’s launch announcement; Android Central’s October 2 report
Samsung lists the A57 from $549.99 before eligible trade-in. Because one figure is a recent third-party report and the other is a manufacturer listing, compare live checkout prices for the same storage class and account for discounts and trade-in conditions before deciding. A sale or carrier offer could change which phone is the better value.

Choose Pixel 10a if updates or wireless charging matter most
You want Google’s stated update window
Google says Pixel 10a will receive seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. Samsung describes A57 support differently: up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, and up to six years of security updates. Generations and years are not interchangeable measures, and these promises do not guarantee identical delivery schedules or feature availability. Google; Samsung
You want wireless charging
The independent comparison reports wireless charging on Pixel 10a and none on the A57. It also reports faster maximum wired charging for the Samsung: up to 45 W versus up to 30 W for Pixel. If you charge on a wireless pad, Pixel has the feature advantage; if wired charging speed is your priority, the A57 has the higher stated maximum. Actual charging times can depend on the charger and conditions.

You are comparing camera layouts, not just camera counts
Pixel 10a has a 48 MP main camera and a 13 MP ultrawide. The A57 adds a 5 MP macro camera alongside its 50 MP main and 12 MP ultrawide. More lenses or a higher megapixel number do not establish which phone takes better photos. The available specifications do not provide a controlled camera-quality comparison, so choose based on the modes you expect to use or consult suitable independent photo and video tests.
Choose Galaxy A57 5G if you prefer Samsung’s larger-screen setup
Samsung positions the A57 within its Galaxy ecosystem and describes shared Galaxy features across the line. The independent comparison characterizes its display as larger than Pixel 10a’s; that may suit people who watch video, browse, or prefer more screen area. Size can also affect one-handed comfort, so try the exact model if handling matters more than screen space.

Samsung’s support comparison says the 2026 Galaxy A line includes Gemini and Circle to Search, while some AI features are limited to the A27, A37, and A57. Feature availability varies by model and region, so do not assume that every Galaxy A phone has the same software features. Samsung’s model comparison

- Compare the actual total: Check current prices for the same storage class, then apply only discounts or trade-in offers you qualify for.
- Pick your support preference: Pixel’s stated seven years covers OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates; Samsung states up to six OS/One UI generations and up to six years of security updates for A57/A37.
- Decide how you charge: Pixel supports wireless charging; the A57 has the higher stated maximum wired charging speed in the independent comparison.
- Choose a screen and ecosystem: Consider whether you prefer the larger Samsung experience or Pixel’s Google software, and whether you already use devices from either ecosystem.
- Use camera evidence carefully: Compare real sample photos and video from a suitable independent test if image quality is your deciding factor; the listed lens specs alone cannot settle it.
Verdict: buy the phone that wins at your current price
At today’s reported U.S. pricing, neither phone is an automatic winner. Pixel 10a is the clearer fit for Google’s stated longer support window and wireless charging. Galaxy A57 is the better match for Samsung’s larger-screen experience, a triple rear-camera arrangement, and faster wired charging. If Pixel’s reported new price makes it too expensive, compare the Galaxy A37 or wait for a promotion rather than treating the A57 as the only Samsung option.
