Gemini Enterprise is Google Cloud’s workplace AI platform, not a standalone chatbot or model. Launched on October 9, 2025, it combines permissions-aware intranet search, conversational assistance, enterprise-data connectors, agent creation and deployment, and centralized governance behind one interface.
Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian describes that design as “bringing AI to everyone”: giving employees one front door to search company information, chat with enterprise data, and use agents to complete tasks. The practical value depends on how well an organization connects its systems, preserves access permissions, governs agents, and manages subscription and usage costs.
What Gemini Enterprise includes
Google’s documentation defines Gemini Enterprise as “an intranet search, AI assistant, and agentic platform.” That combination distinguishes it from a general-purpose model subscription. Gemini Enterprise is intended to sit across an organization’s information and workflows, providing:
- A single multimodal interface for searching enterprise information and asking questions.
- Conversational assistance grounded in connected company sources.
- Prebuilt and custom AI agents that can perform defined tasks.
- No-code workflow and agent creation for business users.
- Developer tooling for more advanced agents and integrations.
- Centralized agent management, security, and governance controls.
Its answers and actions are only as useful as the data sources, permissions, and workflows an organization makes available. Gemini Enterprise is therefore an access and orchestration layer around enterprise systems, rather than a replacement for those systems.

What “bringing AI to everyone” means in Google’s pitch
In launch coverage by CRN, Kurian said: “What we’re doing is bringing AI to everyone by providing them a single front door through which they can chat with all of their enterprise data, search for information and use agents to do a variety of tasks on their behalf.”
He also described Gemini Enterprise as “the front door” for enterprise chat, connectivity to enterprise sources, prepackaged agents, and search. Those are positioning statements from Google Cloud’s CEO, not independent measurements of productivity or return on investment.
The phrase translates into three product promises:
- One entry point: employees can search and converse through one experience instead of learning a separate interface for every repository.
- Connected context: answers can draw on permitted information from business applications and data stores.
- Action through agents: an agent can be configured to carry out a repeatable task, subject to the organization’s controls.
How enterprise search and connectors work
Permission-aware retrieval
Gemini Enterprise is designed to respect source-system permissions when retrieving enterprise information. Connecting a repository does not, by itself, give every employee access to everything in it; administrators still need to configure identities, access rules, and the source systems correctly. Poorly maintained permissions can produce incomplete answers, while overly broad permissions can create a security risk.

Named connectors
Google documentation names prebuilt connectors for the following systems:
Recommended Free Tools
| Category | Named sources |
|---|---|
| Collaboration and work management | Confluence, Jira, Microsoft SharePoint, ServiceNow |
| Google Workspace | Google Calendar, Google Chat, Google Drive, Gmail, Google Sites |
| Google Cloud data | BigQuery, AlloyDB |
| Other systems | Custom connectors for sources outside the standard library |
SharePoint support means organizations can connect that Microsoft repository. The available material does not establish blanket support for every Microsoft 365 application, so buyers should verify the exact connector, indexing behavior, permission model, and regional availability for each workload.
Building and using agents
No-code creation
The product page lists a no-code Workflow Builder and prebuilt Google agents. These options are aimed at teams that need useful automations without maintaining a software project. Typical candidates include information lookup, routing, summarization, and other repeatable internal workflows, provided the required systems expose the necessary data and actions.
Rank #3
Developer-built agents
Developers can build agents with Google’s Agent Development Kit or Agent Platform. Google also says agents can be integrated through the Agent-to-Agent protocol, allowing separately built agents to cooperate rather than forcing every capability into one monolithic application.
| Approach | Best fit | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Prebuilt agents | Common tasks that match Google’s packaged capabilities | Fastest start, but less tailored to unusual processes |
| No-code Workflow Builder | Business teams configuring straightforward workflows | Lower technical barrier, with less control over complex logic |
| Agent Development Kit or Agent Platform | Custom applications, deeper integrations, and engineering-managed behavior | Greater flexibility requires development, testing, and operations work |
| Agent-to-Agent integration | Coordinating specialized agents across systems | Requires clear interfaces, identity controls, and failure handling |
Governance, security, and administration
Gemini Enterprise includes centralized agent management and built-in security and governance features. In practice, an implementation team should establish:
- Which users and groups may discover, invoke, or publish each agent.
- Which source permissions an agent inherits and which actions require approval.
- Logging, monitoring, retention, and review procedures for agent activity.
- Testing requirements for inaccurate answers, unsafe actions, and unavailable systems.
- A process for retiring agents when their source data or business rules change.
Permission-aware search helps limit unauthorized retrieval, but it is not a substitute for identity governance, source-system administration, or application security review.

Gemini Enterprise editions and pricing
The Google Cloud product page lists the following starting positions. Prices, limits, and availability can change; confirm the offer for your country, contract, edition, and billing term before purchase.
| Edition | Starting price and billing | Positioning and limits |
|---|---|---|
| Business | $21 USD per seat per month | For small businesses and teams of up to 300; no IT setup required; a 30-day trial is listed. |
| Standard/Plus | $30 USD per seat per month | For organizations needing enterprise IT controls, higher quota, unlimited seats, and access to third-party agents; a 30-day trial path is listed. |
| Pay-as-you-go | $0 seat fee, with usage-based billing | For organizations with 20 or more seats; rollout is described as gradual and limited. |
CRN’s launch coverage reported the same $21 Business and $30 Standard/Plus starting points for annual plans. “Starting at” is not a guaranteed all-in price: connector usage, agent activity, data volume, contract terms, and other consumption may affect total cost.
Partner agents and Google Cloud Marketplace
Standard and Plus customers can access partner-built agents through Agent Marketplace. Google Cloud says its Marketplace connects customers with thousands of pre-vetted AI agents validated to integrate with Gemini Enterprise.

Best Value
For buyers, a marketplace can simplify procurement and deployment while providing a governance path for approved agents. For Google Cloud partners, agent builders, consultants, and implementation firms, it creates a distribution channel alongside custom development work. “Pre-vetted” is a Google description; organizations should still review an agent’s data access, permissions, operational dependencies, support terms, and ongoing usage charges.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Gemini Enterprise the same as Agentspace?
The launch and product documentation supplied for Gemini Enterprise define the current offering under that name, but they do not establish a formal one-to-one equivalence with Agentspace. Treat Gemini Enterprise as the product name to evaluate now and ask Google or your account team for any migration, licensing, or feature-mapping details if your organization uses Agentspace. Do not assume that a previous entitlement, connector, quota, or agent will transfer unchanged.
Does Gemini Enterprise use company data to train models?
The product description establishes permissions-aware access and enterprise connectors, but it does not state a universal data-training policy. Retrieval permissions and model-training use are separate questions. Before deployment, review the applicable Google Cloud terms, data-processing commitments, regional requirements, retention settings, and administrator controls for your edition and services.
Claims Google Cloud made at launch
In the 2025 CRN interview, Kurian said that nine of the world’s top ten AI labs run on Google Cloud, that 65% of Google Cloud’s existing customers were already using its AI technology, and that customers using Google Cloud AI typically use 1.5 times as many Google Cloud products as customers that do not.

A practical evaluation checklist
- Inventory sources: list the repositories, Workspace services, databases, and ticketing systems employees need to search.
- Map permissions: document identity groups and confirm that source permissions are current before indexing.
- Select an agent path: test a prebuilt agent, no-code workflow, or developer-built agent against a narrowly defined task.
- Define controls: set publishing rights, approval gates, logging, monitoring, and incident procedures.
- Measure usefulness: evaluate answer accuracy, source coverage, task completion, escalation behavior, and operating cost.
- Confirm commercial terms: verify edition, seat minimums, quotas, connector availability, regional rollout, trial conditions, and usage billing.
What to verify before committing
Gemini Enterprise is most compelling when a company wants one governed layer over diverse information sources and a path from search to agent-based work. Its success is less about the chat window than about connector coverage, clean permissions, reliable workflows, and disciplined administration. Confirm those implementation details—and the live pricing and availability for your region—before treating the launch promise as a business outcome.
