Google AI Plus is a paid Google One plan for personal Google Accounts. As of Google’s current 2026 comparison, it combines 400 GB or 2 TB of storage with Gemini access, higher usage limits, NotebookLM, Google app integrations, Google Flow credits and family sharing. The offer changed during 2026: Google’s January launch announcement listed $7.99 per month and 200 GB in the United States, while the current comparison lists different storage options. Treat price, storage, models and limits as date- and country-specific, and confirm the live Google One checkout page before subscribing.
What Google AI Plus includes
Google AI Plus sits between free Google AI access and Google’s higher-priced AI plans. It is both an AI subscription and a Google One storage plan, so the value depends on whether you need cloud capacity as well as more AI access.
- Cloud storage: The current Google One comparison lists 400 GB or 2 TB for AI Plus. Storage is shared across Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos.
- Gemini: Subscribers receive access to the Gemini app and higher usage limits than non-AI subscribers. Google’s comparison describes the increase as 2x.
- NotebookLM: The plan includes more NotebookLM usage than a non-AI account, including higher limits for source files and interactions.
- Google app integrations: Gemini is available in Gmail and other eligible Google applications. Access depends on country, language, age and the feature’s rollout status.
- Google Flow: The current comparison lists 200 Google Flow credits per month.
- Image and search features: AI Plus provides more access to image generation and editing, plus additional AI features in Google Search and Google Photos where available.
- Family sharing: The subscription can be shared with up to five other family members, subject to Google’s account and feature restrictions.
These are plan-level benefits, not a promise that every member receives every model or feature. Google can impose separate limits by model, tool, geography, language and age.

United States launch price
Google’s January 27, 2026 launch announcement, attributed to Product Lead Vikas Kansal, stated that Google AI Plus was available in the United States for $7.99 per month. Google also said new subscribers could receive 50% off for their first two months. That promotion was a launch offer, not a permanent price guarantee.

Why the amount on checkout may differ
Google says prices vary by country. Taxes, currency conversion, billing rules and local offers can change the amount shown to you. The $7.99 figure is therefore a dated U.S. launch price, not a worldwide or timeless rate.
Google’s live Google One comparison is the authority for the amount you will actually pay. Check the recurring price, tax treatment, promotional period and renewal amount on the final checkout screen rather than relying on an older article or a screenshot.

How much storage do you get?
Current comparison: 400 GB or 2 TB
The current Google One comparison shows AI Plus with a choice of 400 GB or 2 TB. That storage covers the combined contents of Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos rather than creating separate pools for each service.

Why older pages say 200 GB
Google’s January 2026 launch announcement described AI Plus as including 200 GB. The later comparison lists 400 GB or 2 TB, so Google changed or varied the offer during 2026. Both figures are official statements tied to different dates; neither should be presented as a universal specification without a date.
Before subscribing, open the plan selector for your country and note the exact capacity attached to the tier you are choosing. If your account displays only one of the two capacities, that account, market or current promotion may determine which offer is available.
Choosing between 400 GB and 2 TB
- Choose 400 GB if your existing Drive, Gmail and Photos usage is comfortably below that level and you mainly want Gemini and NotebookLM benefits.
- Choose 2 TB if you keep large photo libraries, video, shared folders or several years of email and want more headroom without moving files between accounts.
- Check family usage: family members draw from the shared storage pool, so the capacity that looks ample for one person may be tight for six.
Storage capacity does not automatically remove Google’s file-size, upload-frequency or service-specific limits. Those constraints can still apply.

What are the Gemini limits on AI Plus?
The published comparison is relative, not a daily message number
Google’s comparison states that AI Plus provides 2x higher Gemini usage limits than non-AI subscribers. It also lists more file-upload capacity and more access to image generation and editing. Google does not publish one universal message quota in the cited comparison table.

In practice, the limit you encounter can depend on the model, prompt complexity, file type, rolling time window, current demand and your country. A “2x” description should therefore be read as a comparison with the non-AI allowance, not as a promise of a fixed number of messages every day.
Model access can change
Google’s current FAQ names Gemini 3.6 Flash and limited Gemini Omni Flash access for AI Plus. A separate Google announcement dated May 19, 2026 says AI subscriptions provide access to the latest models, including Gemini Omni and Gemini 3.5 Flash, while noting tier and geography restrictions for features such as AI Inbox in Gmail and Daily Brief. The differing model names illustrate how quickly entitlements can change.
Look at the model picker and the plan comparison while signed in. A model listed in an announcement may be limited, region-specific, renamed or replaced by the time you subscribe.
Other AI Plus allowances
- More NotebookLM usage than a non-AI account.
- Higher file-upload limits for eligible Gemini workflows.
- 200 Google Flow credits each month on the current comparison.
- More access to image generation and editing.
- More AI features in Google Search and Google Photos, where those features are offered.
Credits and quotas are feature-specific. Google Flow credits, for example, are not interchangeable with Gemini messages or storage space.

Yes, Google lists Gemini in Gmail and other Google app integrations as part of AI Plus. The exact set of integrations and controls depends on your country, language, age and account type. Some features may appear gradually, require a supported interface or be restricted to particular models.

Gmail and productivity features
Eligible users may see Gemini assistance inside Gmail and related Google applications. Availability is not equivalent to unrestricted access: Google’s May 19, 2026 announcement specifically describes tier and geography limits for features such as AI Inbox and Daily Brief.
Google Search and Photos
AI Plus includes more access to selected AI features in Google Search and Google Photos on the current comparison. Google can enable these tools by country, language or experiment, so two subscribers on the same plan may not see identical controls.
NotebookLM
NotebookLM is included with increased usage. It is designed for working with supplied sources, but the plan does not eliminate NotebookLM’s own source, notebook, query or generation limits.

Google says AI Plus benefits can be shared with up to five other family members. That creates a group of up to six people, including the subscriber, under Google’s family-sharing system.
What sharing does and does not guarantee
- Shared storage is a common pool across the family group.
- Each person generally uses their own Google Account rather than sharing a password.
- Access to a particular Gemini model or app feature can still vary by member’s country, age, language and account eligibility.
- Some features may be restricted to the family manager or unavailable to certain account types.
Invite family members only through Google’s account-sharing controls. A family invitation transfers plan benefits; it does not merge people’s Gmail, Drive or Photos content.
Is Google AI Plus the same as Google One AI Premium?
Google’s official FAQ says the Google AI Premium plan has a new name: Google AI Plus. On the current comparison, Google describes the same core benefits, including the Gemini app, Gemini Notebook and 400 GB of storage.

If an older receipt, help page or account screen says “AI Premium,” it may refer to the former name of the same plan rather than a separate subscription. Confirm the benefits and storage shown in your account because Google can revise the package after renaming it.
AI Plus versus free Gemini and AI Pro
The useful distinction is not just the plan name. Compare the allowance, storage and features that matter to your workload.

When AI Plus is the sensible step up
AI Plus is aimed at someone who wants more Gemini capacity and integrated Google services but does not need the broadest model, storage or bundled-service allowance. The 400 GB option can be practical when storage is the main need; the 2 TB option is more suitable for a large family library.
When to examine AI Pro instead
Examine AI Pro when your work depends on higher-tier models, larger quotas or services that Google reserves for a more expensive plan. Because Google’s model names, limits and prices change, compare the live feature matrix rather than assuming that every “latest model” announcement applies to AI Plus.
Who is eligible?
- Account type: Google AI plans are for personal Google Accounts.
- Workspace accounts: Google Workspace customers are directed to Gemini add-ons for business accounts rather than the consumer AI Plus subscription.
- Age: Gemini and Gemini in Gmail, Docs and related apps are generally restricted to users aged 18 or older.
- Location and language: Countries, languages and feature rollouts differ. A plan can be purchasable in a country while a specific model or app integration remains unavailable there.
If an invitation or feature does not appear, check that the recipient uses an eligible personal account, meets the age requirement and is in a supported country and language.
How to check the offer before subscribing
- Sign in to the personal Google Account that will own the subscription.
- Open Google One and view the current AI plan comparison for your billing country.
- Record the displayed recurring price, storage capacity, introductory discount and date the regular price begins.
- Expand the benefits or limits section and check the Gemini models, NotebookLM allowance, Google Flow credits and app integrations shown for your account.
- Confirm the family-sharing wording and whether the people you intend to invite meet Google’s account and age rules.
- Review taxes, payment method and renewal terms on the final checkout screen before confirming.
Do not rely on the January 2026 launch figures if the live comparison shows something else. The checkout page is the relevant offer for your account.

Common problems and what they mean
“I paid, but Gemini still shows the free limit”
Make sure Gemini is signed in to the same personal Google Account that owns or receives the family benefit. Sign out of additional accounts, reload the app and allow time for the subscription status to propagate. If the account is a Workspace account, AI Plus may not be the correct product.
“My storage is not the amount I expected”
Check the capacity on the active plan, not an old announcement. Google’s 2026 materials cite both 200 GB and 400 GB or 2 TB at different dates. Also check whether another Google One plan is active on the account and whether family members are consuming the shared pool.
“A model or Gmail feature is missing”
Model and app entitlements are not universal. Verify country, language, age, account type and the current plan comparison. Features named in a May 19, 2026 announcement, including AI Inbox and Daily Brief, can have separate tier or geography restrictions.

Confirm that the person accepted the invitation with the intended personal Google Account and is in the same supported family-sharing arrangement. Sharing the plan does not override age, language, country or feature-specific restrictions.
What to verify on the day you subscribe
- The recurring monthly price in your currency, including taxes where shown.
- The exact storage choice: 400 GB or 2 TB on the current comparison, or another offer displayed for your market.
- Whether a launch or introductory discount applies only to the first two months.
- The Gemini models and usage limits currently listed for your account.
- The number of Google Flow credits and the NotebookLM and file-upload allowances.
- Family-sharing eligibility and the maximum number of additional members.
- Any age, country or language restrictions attached to Gmail, Docs, Search, Photos or other integrations.
Those details determine the actual value of AI Plus more reliably than the plan name or an older review.
