You cannot play all 12 of the 2026 Golden Joystick Ultimate Game of the Year nominees on one console. PC has the broadest documented lineup, but Nintendo-published Pokémon Pokopia is a Switch 2 title; PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S each have important gaps, and 007 First Light does not reach Switch 2 until 18 March 2027. The shortlist was announced on 26 October 2026, Ultimate GOTY voting closes at 23:59 GMT on 30 October, and the London ceremony is livestreamed globally on 11 November.
This guide identifies the confirmed platform, store or subscription path for every nominee, flags ports that are only indicated or not documented, and gives practical PC storage requirements so you can decide which system—or combination of systems—covers the games you want before voting ends.

What are the Golden Joystick Awards 2026 Game of the Year nominees?
The Ultimate Game of the Year shortlist contains 12 games: 007 First Light, Big Walk, CONTROL Resonant, Crimson Desert, Dispatch, Forza Horizon 6, Phantom Blade Zero, Pokémon Pokopia, PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem, STAR WARS: Galactic Racer and The Blood of Dawnwalker. The shortlist was announced on 26 October 2026; it is separate from the 2025 ceremony, where Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won Ultimate GOTY.
Voting for the Ultimate category closes at 23:59 GMT on Friday 30 October 2026. The 44th Golden Joystick Awards ceremony takes place in central London on Wednesday 11 November and is streamed globally. The awards organisation calls the event the “People’s Gaming Awards”; its 2025 event recorded 21 million public votes.

Where can I play every Ultimate GOTY nominee?
007 First Light
IO Interactive’s young-Bond adventure is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The PC edition is sold through Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store; it launched on 27 May 2026 alongside the console versions. Xbox Play Anywhere also makes the Xbox purchase playable on Windows PC and on an ROG Ally through the Play Anywhere entitlement.
IO Interactive’s 22 October support update lists an 80 GB SSD requirement for PC. Minimum PC hardware is 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, an Intel Core i5-9500 or Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB RAM and GTX 1660- or RX 5700-class graphics. Launch-day sizes with the day-one patch were 50.8 GB on PS5, 58.7 GB on Xbox and 53.2 GB for PC/Steam. The campaign needs a one-time connection to apply that patch, then can be played offline; an IOI Account is optional and only affects some cosmetic rewards.
The Switch 2 edition is delayed to 18 March 2027. IO Interactive’s support wording is explicit: “At a glance: 007 First Light launches May 27, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC . The Nintendo Switch 2 edition will launch on March 18th, 2027.” You therefore cannot play this nominee on a Switch during the 2026 voting window. Standard, Specialist, Collector’s and Legacy editions are available, with higher tiers adding items such as a steel case and Golden Gun figurine. IO Interactive reported more than four million total sales by August 2026.
Big Walk
House House’s co-operative adventure is confirmed as a PC Game of the Year nominee and is shown through Steam coverage. It is built around teamwork, voice chat, tools and gestures. A citable PlayStation, Xbox or Switch SKU was not documented, so PC is the reliable way to play it for now; do not assume a console port from its Ultimate nomination alone.
CONTROL Resonant
Remedy Entertainment’s sequel follows Dylan Faden through a Hiss-warped Manhattan. A Destructoid review ran on PC on 18 September 2026, and NVIDIA path-tracing coverage includes the game, confirming the PC route. Destructoid’s Console GOTY discussion treats the lack of a nomination as a console-release snub, indicating console availability, but this pass did not capture a PS5, Xbox or Switch store listing. Treat those console versions as indicated rather than fully sourced.
Crimson Desert
Pearl Abyss’s open-world action game set in Pywel is confirmed on PC through the PC GOTY listing and PC-focused review coverage dated 18 March 2026. A Destructoid Console GOTY article discusses its absence as a snub, but a complete PlayStation, Xbox or Switch SKU list was not documented. Buy or wishlist the PC version unless the relevant console storefront supplies a current listing.

Dispatch
AdHoc Studio’s narrative superhero workplace game stars Robert Robertson III, also known as Mecha Man; Aaron Paul is a Best Lead Performer nominee for the project. TechTimes’ roundup uses Steam screenshots, so PC is indicated. The game’s unusual release schedule allowed it to qualify across two awards years, but that timing does not establish a PlayStation, Xbox or Switch edition. No console SKU was documented.

Forza Horizon 6
Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios set this open-world racer in Japan with more than 550 real-world cars. Xbox Series X|S is strongly indicated by the publisher and its Console GOTY nomination; Steam artwork in awards coverage indicates a PC edition. PlayStation and Switch availability was not documented, so do not promise a PlayStation port simply because other Xbox titles have appeared there.
TechTimes repeated a Metacritic score of 92 for Forza Horizon 6. Game Pass inclusion was not verified, so the safe purchase paths are the Xbox storefront or the documented PC storefront rather than an assumed subscription entitlement.
Phantom Blade Zero
S-GAME’s wuxia action RPG follows Soul, who has 66 days to live. PC launched on 28 October 2026 and the wider launch, including PS5, followed on 29 October. Preload reporting confirms PC and PS5; Xbox and Switch were not mentioned.
Recommended Free Tools
The PC installation is about 145 GB and requires an SSD. Minimum specifications are an i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1660 6 GB or RX 5500 XT 8 GB, 16 GB RAM and DirectX 12 for 1080p/30 with upscaling and ray tracing off. The recommended tier is an i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X, RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB or RX 6700 XT 12 GB, targeting 1440p/60 with upscaling. Keep that space free before buying; this is the heaviest stated PC install on the shortlist.
Pokémon Pokopia
Game Freak and Koei Tecmo’s life-sim casts Ditto in a human-like form, rebuilding a desolate world. Nintendo publishes the game outside Japan, and contemporaneous launch coverage lists Pokémon Pokopia for Switch 2. That makes Switch 2 the supported path indicated by the available evidence.
PC, PlayStation, Xbox and original Switch compatibility were not documented. Do not promise that a 2017 Switch, Switch OLED or Switch Lite runs it; the 2026 material is Switch 2-centric.
PRAGMATA
Capcom’s lunar-station sci-fi adventure, featuring Hugh Williams and the android Diana, launched in mid-April 2026. Launch-week reporting places it on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through Steam; GameSpot’s hub records a first-release date of 16 April, while a launch-day report ran on 17 April.
The Sketchbook demo appeared on PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop, Xbox Store and PC. Capcom reported more than 2.5 million units sold worldwide in results for the three months ended 30 June 2026. A Deluxe edition adds digital extras.

Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom’s ninth mainline Resident Evil stars Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy and launched on 27 February 2026. Launch-platform coverage and the GameSpot hub confirm PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, PC through Steam and Epic Games Store, and GeForce NOW.
A later Capcom-sales article listed only PS5, Xbox Series and Steam; that shorter line is incomplete rather than evidence of a Switch 2 or Epic delisting. Capcom reported more than eight million units sold worldwide. This is the shortlist’s broadest physical-game target, with versions for all three current console families and PC.
STAR WARS: Galactic Racer
Fuse Games and Secret Mode, working with Lucasfilm Games, present a post-Empire racer built around Shade and the Bool family. Steam screenshots in awards coverage indicate a PC edition. PlayStation, Xbox and Switch storefront listings were not documented, so PC is the only platform you can state confidently from the available material.

Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco’s dark-fantasy RPG follows Coen, human by day and vampire by night, against a 30-day story clock. Launch coverage places it on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam PC on 3 September 2026; a 2 September date appeared in a preview, but launch reporting uses 3 September.
Xbox Play Anywhere lets one Xbox purchase work on Series X|S and Windows PC. The title is not listed for Switch. A pre-launch report said it would not be on Xbox Game Pass and would not support crossplay; because that was pre-launch information, check the current catalogue before relying on it. Editions include Standard, digital Eclipse (compendium, comic and soundtrack), physical Day One (steelbook and world map) and a Collector’s Edition with a 23 cm Coen figurine. OpenCritic coverage reported an 85 “Mighty” average from 129 critics, with 93% recommending.
Which platform gets closest to all 12 nominees?
No single box covers the complete shortlist. These are the practical “shop-now” stacks, with every uncertain port kept separate from confirmed availability.
PC digital stack
PC is the broadest documented route: 007 First Light, Big Walk, CONTROL Resonant, Crimson Desert, Dispatch, Forza Horizon 6, Phantom Blade Zero, PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem, STAR WARS: Galactic Racer and The Blood of Dawnwalker are confirmed or indicated on PC. Pokémon Pokopia is the likely gap because its available listing is Switch 2-focused. Storage matters: reserve 80 GB for 007 First Light and about 145 GB on an SSD for Phantom Blade Zero, in addition to space for patches and the operating system.
PlayStation 5 stack
Confirmed PS5 games are 007 First Light, Phantom Blade Zero, PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem and The Blood of Dawnwalker. Console listings for CONTROL Resonant and Crimson Desert are only indicated in the cited awards discussion, while Big Walk, Dispatch, Forza Horizon 6, Pokémon Pokopia and STAR WARS: Galactic Racer lack documented PS5 listings here.

Xbox Series X|S stack
Xbox has confirmed or strongly indicated access to 007 First Light, Forza Horizon 6, PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem and The Blood of Dawnwalker. Play Anywhere applies to 007 and Dawnwalker. Phantom Blade Zero is documented for PC and PS5, not Xbox; the remaining uncertain nominees need current Xbox store pages before you buy on that assumption.
Switch 2 stack
Switch 2 is the route for PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem and Pokémon Pokopia. 007 First Light is announced but delayed until 18 March 2027. Dawnwalker and Phantom Blade Zero were not listed for Switch, and original-Switch compatibility for these 2026 nominees was not documented.
What PC hardware and storage do these nominees need?
The two published storage figures that can change a buying decision are 80 GB SSD for 007 First Light and approximately 145 GB SSD for Phantom Blade Zero. The latter also has the higher stated CPU and GPU floor, so an older gaming laptop may fit 007 but fail to meet Phantom Blade Zero’s recommended 1440p target.

- 007 First Light minimum: Windows 10/11 64-bit, Core i5-9500 or Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1660 or RX 5700 class, 80 GB SSD.
- Phantom Blade Zero minimum: i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1660 6 GB or RX 5500 XT 8 GB, DirectX 12, about 145 GB SSD.
- Phantom Blade Zero recommended: i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X, RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB or RX 6700 XT 12 GB, 1440p/60 with upscaling.
NVIDIA coverage groups 007 First Light, CONTROL Resonant and PRAGMATA among PC path-tracing titles. That is a feature reference, not a promise that every graphics card can run path tracing smoothly. For a full shortlist collection, plan drive capacity around the largest install first and leave headroom for updates.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can I use Game Pass, Play Anywhere or cloud streaming?
Play Anywhere is verified for 007 First Light and The Blood of Dawnwalker. GeForce NOW is listed for Resident Evil Requiem. Game Pass status was not verified for Forza Horizon 6, 007 First Light, Resident Evil Requiem, PRAGMATA or The Blood of Dawnwalker; do not purchase a subscription expecting access without checking the current catalogue. PlayStation Plus and Nintendo Switch Online catalogue inclusion was not documented.
How do I vote for the Golden Joystick Awards 2026?
Use the voting form at goldenjoysticks.com or the GamesRadar Golden Joystick Awards hub. Ultimate GOTY voting opened when the 12-game shortlist was announced on 26 October and closes at 23:59 GMT on 30 October 2026. Other public categories closed earlier, at midnight BST on 23 October.
The live ceremony is Wednesday 11 November 2026 in central London and is streamed globally. Grand Theft Auto VI is not a nominee: its scheduled 19 November release is eight days after the show and after voting closes. The timing is why it cannot be added to this list, regardless of its profile.

Console Game of the Year
The 10 nominees are 007 First Light, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Forza Horizon 6, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Nioh 3, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Pokémon Pokopia, PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem and SAROS. Capcom accounts for three of the ten: PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem and Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
PC Game of the Year
The 10 nominees are Big Walk, Crimson Desert, Escape from Tarkov, Esoteric Ebb, MECCHA CHAMELEON, Mewgenics, Order of the Sinking Star, STAR WARS Zero Company, The Blood of Dawnwalker and Valheim. The additional PC/Console nominees are not automatically Ultimate GOTY nominees.
How were platform claims assigned?
“Confirmed” means a publisher support page, launch article or store hub explicitly names the platform. “Indicated” means the awards category, publisher identity or contemporaneous coverage points to a platform without a complete SKU list. “Not documented” means no citable listing was available in the current material. This distinction prevents an Xbox-published game such as Forza Horizon 6 from being presented as a PlayStation title, and prevents an announced Switch 2 edition of 007 First Light from being described as playable before its 2027 release.

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFrequently Asked Questions
Can I play 007 First Light without an internet connection?
Yes, after the one-time connection needed to apply the day-one patch. The main campaign then supports offline play; an IOI Account is optional for cosmetic rewards rather than basic access.
Does the original Nintendo Switch run Pokémon Pokopia?
Compatibility with the 2017 Switch family was not established in the available launch material. The documented listing is for Nintendo Switch 2, so owners of the original Switch should wait for an explicit compatibility announcement.
Which nominee has the largest published PC install?
Phantom Blade Zero is listed at about 145 GB and requires an SSD. That is substantially larger than the 80 GB SSD requirement published for 007 First Light, before allowing room for patches.
Why is Grand Theft Auto VI absent from the 2026 ballot?
Its scheduled 19 November 2026 release falls eight days after the 11 November ceremony and after Ultimate GOTY voting closes. The release timing makes it ineligible for this ceremony rather than an omitted nominee.
