Buy Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition if you are new to the game. It costs $69.99 in the US—the same launch price as 2025’s Standard Edition—and adds the two paid post-launch releases, all Digital Deluxe cosmetics, and extra bonuses. If you already own Standard or Digital Deluxe, the $14.99 Complete Edition Upgrade is the economical choice. A discounted Standard Blu-ray makes sense only if you want the base campaign and free Legends mode while skipping the paid additions. The $249.99 Collector’s Edition is a merchandise purchase: its gameplay entitlement is a digital Deluxe copy in Western markets, while its value comes from the Ghost Mask, sash, tsuba, art cards, papercraft tree, and Zeni Hajiki set.

Which Ghost of Yōtei edition should a new player buy?
Complete Edition is the clear default for a first purchase. Sony and Sucker Punch released it on 1 October 2026 at $69.99, matching the original Standard launch price while adding both paid expansions and the complete Deluxe content bundle. A physical PS5 version is listed through Amazon, and a digital version is sold through the PlayStation Store.
The only reason to choose Standard is price on a discounted disc or a firm decision to play only the base story. Standard owners still receive the free Legends co-op update and the October 2026 quality-of-life patch. They simply do not receive Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, or the Deluxe cosmetics unless they later purchase the Upgrade.
What does Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition include?
Complete combines the original campaign with every paid gameplay and cosmetic addition released through October 2026. Its contents are:

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- The full Ghost of Yōtei base game.
- Echoes of Sekigahara, a narrative expansion moving between present-day Ezo and flashbacks to the Battle of Sekigahara.
- Most Wanted, a single-player combat-survival mode described by Sucker Punch as its spin on a roguelike, with bounty runs, perks, and additional playable characters.
- The Snake Armor, Digital Deluxe Armor Dye, Digital Deluxe Horse and Saddle, Sword Kit, Charm of Amaterasu, and early-unlock Traveler’s Maps.
- Charm of Hokkyokusei and an in-game mask.
Echoes adds a new valley associated with the Snake and the Vipers, meetings with Nagato, new heavy weapons, armor sets and dyes, and playable scenes from Atsu’s past. Most Wanted lets you use different combatants and weapon combinations, including examples shown in promotional material such as dual katana, kusarigama and yari loadouts.
Complete also bundles the Legends mode, photo-mode stamps, New Game Plus cosmetics and trophies connected to the two paid additions. Legends itself is a free major update for every owner, so these features are not a reason to force an existing player to rebuy the full game.
Is the $14.99 Complete Edition Upgrade worth it?
Yes, for anyone who already owns Standard or Digital Deluxe and wants the new content. The Upgrade grants Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted. It also unlocks the Deluxe cosmetics and Charm of Hokkyokusei if your original edition did not include them.

A leftover Digital Deluxe Upgrade listing is also inferior: it costs the same $14.99 but does not provide the two expansions. Store names and availability can vary by region, so confirm that the add-on is associated with your existing copy before checkout.
What is in the Standard Edition?
Standard contains the base PS5 game on a Blu-ray disc or as a digital download. Its launch US price was $69.99, with regional launch prices of £69.99 in the UK, €79.99 in Spain and euro markets, and ¥8,980 including tax in Japan.

Late-October 2026 Amazon search results showed a Standard PS5 disc around $53.99, making it the cheapest route into the campaign when you are comfortable giving up the paid expansions. Prices are retailer-dependent and can change; the $53.99 figure is a captured listing rather than a permanent MSRP.
Launch and early-purchase copies were advertised with seven PSN avatars featuring Atsu and the Yōtei Six plus an in-game mask. Whether a newly sold discounted disc still carries those digital entitlements was not confirmed on the current store module, so check the individual listing instead of assuming a late purchase includes them.

Not for a new buyer. Digital Deluxe launched at $79.99 in the US (£79.99, €89.99 and ¥9,980 in the cited markets) and was a $10 premium over Standard for cosmetics and convenience. It did not add missions, maps or exclusive story areas.
The pack contains Snake Armor, a special armor dye, a Deluxe horse and saddle, a sword kit, Charm of Amaterasu and early Traveler’s Maps that help locate upgrade statues. Complete Edition now includes every one of those items at the same US list price as the old Standard, so Digital Deluxe is mainly relevant to people who bought it in 2025 or find an unusually steep discount on an old code.
What is in the Collector’s Edition, and does it include a disc?
The Western Collector’s Edition was a $249.99 launch package sold through PlayStation Direct. It includes the Digital Deluxe game entitlement and the launch bonus items, but English-language coverage from the US, UK and European markets identifies a digital download code rather than a Blu-ray disc.

Physical items in the Western box
- Atsu’s Ghost Mask on a display stand, a resin replica measuring about 17.3 × 12.7 × 15 cm.
- A 180 cm sash bearing the names of the Yōtei Six.
- A 7.6 × 7.6 cm tsuba, the sword-guard replica from Atsu’s katana.
- A foldable papercraft ginkgo tree with a wolf figure.
- Four art cards measuring 12.7 × 17.8 cm.
- A Zeni Hajiki coin game with its pouch and rules.
It does not officially include a katana replica, steelbook or bound lore book. Those items appear in inaccurate third-party descriptions. Japan is a documented exception to the disc question: one Japanese listing describes a packaged disc edition with the same goods. Check the regional product page before importing or buying an overseas box.

Because the Collector’s Edition is a limited launch SKU, official PlayStation Direct inventory is uncertain in late 2026 and aftermarket prices may fluctuate. Buy it for the display pieces, especially the mask, not for extra missions beyond what Complete or the Upgrade provide.
How do Complete, Standard and Deluxe differ for physical versus digital buyers?
Standard is the most flexible launch format: it was sold as a Blu-ray and a digital download. Digital Deluxe was PlayStation Store-only. Complete is available digitally and has a physical PS5 listing, while the Collector’s Western package uses a code.
| Buying concern | Best fit | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Want to lend or resell a disc | Standard Blu-ray or physical Complete | A disc requires the console drive; digital entitlements cannot be transferred. |
| Want every paid story and mode immediately | Complete | Both expansions are included without a separate add-on purchase. |
| Want only the launch campaign at the lowest current price | Discounted Standard disc | You can add the $14.99 Upgrade later if you change your mind. |
| Want merchandise for display | Collector’s | Western copies provide a digital code, not a game disc. |
What is free for every Ghost of Yōtei owner?
Legends is a free online co-op mode supporting two to four players and culminating in a Raid. PlayStation Plus is required for online play. You do not need Complete to access it.
The 1 October 2026 patch also delivered a Beauty of Yōtei environment mode, new Watanabe Mode music tracks, an option to keep one armor set’s appearance while using another set’s stats, and a new high-contrast accessibility setting. These updates apply to Standard and Digital Deluxe owners as well as Complete buyers.

Are the limited hardware bundles different game editions?
No. The Black and Gold Limited Edition PS5 bundles are hardware packages, not fourth campaign editions. Their $599.99 US MSRP included a console, a limited DualSense controller and a voucher for the base game—not Digital Deluxe or Complete.
A matching Ghost of Yōtei Black DualSense launched at $84.99, while Gold console covers for PS5 Pro and PS5 Slim launched at $64.99. These accessories can complement any software edition but do not add expansions or Collector’s physical goods.
What are the regional prices and platform limits?
Ghost of Yōtei launched exclusively on PS5 on 2 October 2025 and supports PS5 Pro enhancements. No PS4 or PC SKU was listed on the official game page in the available 2026 information. The game is set in 1600s rural Ezo, roughly 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima, and follows Atsu rather than Jin Sakai.
Launch prices were $69.99 Standard, $79.99 Digital Deluxe and $249.99 Collector’s in the US; £69.99, £79.99 and £219.99 in the UK; €79.99, €89.99 and €249.99 in euro pricing cited for Spain; and ¥8,980, ¥9,980 and ¥31,980 in Japan. Complete’s US list price is $69.99 and its Upgrade is $14.99; taxes, exchange rates and regional store pricing can change the local totals.
How we picked the recommendation
The recommendation weighs current list price, paid story and mode content, included cosmetics, disc-versus-digital choice, and the practical value of buying in late 2026 rather than at launch. Complete ranks first for new players because it absorbs the old Deluxe premium while adding both expansions. Standard ranks second for budget disc buyers, the Upgrade is the right path for existing owners, Digital Deluxe is retained mainly as a description of legacy content, and Collector’s ranks as a merchandise-focused option.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play Ghost of Yōtei Legends without buying Complete Edition?
Yes. Legends arrived as a free major update for all owners of the game. Only the online component requires an active PlayStation Plus subscription, and the mode supports up to four players.
Will a used Standard disc still include the launch avatars and mask?
The original campaign advertised those items as pre-order or early-purchase bonuses, but entitlement on a late-2026 used or discounted disc is not guaranteed. Check the retailer’s description and the code status before paying a premium for those bonuses.
What happened to the Sakai Armor bonus?
Digital Complete Edition and Upgrade purchases made by 30 September 2026 unlocked the Sakai Armor on 1 October. That promotional window has closed, so a current purchase should not be marketed as including it.
Does Ghost of Yōtei have a PC version?
The official information available for this comparison lists PS5 and PS5 Pro support only, with no PC SKU announced. Treat any unverified PC listing as speculation until Sony publishes a platform announcement.
Can I buy Complete Edition if I already own the disc version?
Use the Complete Edition Upgrade on the same PlayStation account instead of buying the full game again. Your Standard disc remains the base-game license, while the add-on supplies the two expansions and any missing Deluxe entitlements.
