Not confirmed yet. Bandai Namco announced Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 (GBO3) on October 28, 2026, but its checked announcement does not say whether GBO3 will be free-to-play, paid, or sold in editions. It also does not list tokens, mobile suits, cosmetics, a battle pass, or any other purchase contents. The “Free to play” label on the official site applies to GBO2, the predecessor, not automatically to GBO3. The 30-token celebration offers currently visible on the site are GBO2 events as well. No specific GBO3 release date has been announced, so any shopping list or price circulating now would be speculation.
Is GBO3 free-to-play?
Bandai Namco has not confirmed GBO3’s business model in the official material available as of October 30, 2026. The publisher’s October 28 announcement establishes that GBO3 is the next entry in the Battle Operation series, but it does not state “free-to-play,” give an upfront price, or describe a purchase-to-play requirement. Read the absence literally: there is no reliable basis yet to call GBO3 free, premium, or free with optional purchases.
The safest answer to “Is GBO3 free?” is therefore the status is unannounced. A later platform listing or regional store page could add pricing information, but it would need to be an actual GBO3 listing rather than a GBO2 promotion or a fan inference from the series’ history.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
What did Bandai Namco announce about GBO3?
The announcement confirms three useful facts and leaves several commercial questions open.
- GBO3 is an official project. Bandai Namco identifies it as the latest Battle Operation series entry, with the announcement dated October 28, 2026.
- There is no specific release date. The update does not name a launch day, month, or year.
- GBO2 and GBO3 are not planned to run in parallel. The publisher writes: “Additionally, we do not plan to operate “GBO2” and “GBO3” in parallel.”
That last sentence is a plan, not a dated shutdown notice. It does not say when GBO2 service will end, whether GBO3 will use the same platforms, or whether accounts, currencies, unlocks, or paid items will move between games. Those details require a later, specific policy.
Why doesn’t GBO2’s free-to-play label prove GBO3 is free?
The official Battle Operation website prominently labels GBO2 as free-to-play. That label describes the live predecessor and its own service model; it is not a statement about the unlaunched sequel. The site can host GBO3 news while continuing to advertise GBO2, so reading the homepage as a GBO3 price announcement conflates two separate products.

A GBO2 page can establish how GBO2 works, but it cannot establish GBO3’s entry price, platform availability, currency, or item catalog. Until a GBO3-specific announcement supplies those facts, the predecessor is background rather than evidence.
You can check the site’s current product labeling at the official Battle Operation homepage.

What purchases has GBO3 been confirmed to include?
None have been confirmed in the checked publisher announcement. The following table separates common assumptions from information actually published for GBO3.
| Purchase or entitlement | GBO3 status | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| Base game access | Not stated | No free-to-play, premium, or purchase-to-play designation |
| In-game tokens or currency | Not stated | No GBO3 currency name, price, bundle, or allowance |
| Mobile suits | Not stated | No GBO3 paid-unit catalog or unlock method |
| Cosmetic items | Not stated | No GBO3 cosmetic store or paid customization details |
| Battle pass or seasonal plan | Not stated | No pass, tier structure, or season schedule |
| Paid editions or collector versions | Not stated | No edition names, preorder bonuses, or retail listings |
| Account, currency, or item transfer | Not stated | No migration or entitlement-transfer policy |
Consequently, it would be misleading to promise tokens, early-access bonuses, specific mobile suits, cosmetic packs, or a battle pass. The absence of a catalog is not evidence that these features will never exist; it means the publisher has not specified them in the cited announcement.

Are the 30-token announcement-celebration drops in GBO3?
No. The 30-token offers are explicitly part of a GBO2 campaign held after the GBO3 announcement. They do not reveal a GBO3 price or forecast its economy.
The official Guaranteed MS Boosted Supply Drop notice describes four steps. STEP1, STEP2, STEP3, and STEP4 each cost 30 tokens, with the guaranteed mobile-suit reward category changing by step. Those terms apply to that time-limited GBO2 event only; they are not a GBO3 purchase menu.
The separate “GBO3 Announcement Celebration” notice also lists GBO2 login rewards and GBO2 Supply Drops. Logging in to GBO2 to claim those rewards does not grant a GBO3 entitlement, and the notice does not establish that the rewards will exist in the new game. The campaign details are published in the celebration notice and the GBO2 supply-drop and login-bonus information.

What does the no-parallel-operation plan mean for players?
It signals that Bandai Namco does not currently intend to maintain GBO2 and GBO3 as simultaneously operated services. It does not provide a handover timetable or tell players what happens to existing balances and collections.

Until a migration policy appears, treat GBO2 and GBO3 as separate products. A GBO2 token balance should be evaluated only against GBO2 offers; do not value it as a promised GBO3 credit. Likewise, a GBO2 mobile suit, cosmetic, rank, or login reward should not be described as transferable unless Bandai Namco later names that entitlement and explains the process.
The quotation comes from the October 28, 2026 official schedule update. Its wording expresses an operating plan, not a shutdown date or a transfer guarantee.
How should you decide whether to spend on GBO2 now?
Make the decision using GBO2’s current value to you, not an assumption about GBO3. A practical checklist is:
- Identify the game named in the offer. If the page says GBO2, its currency and rewards belong to GBO2.
- Read the event window and step rules. The 30-token figure applies to four specified GBO2 steps, not to a general series-wide price.
- Buy only for a GBO2 benefit you want now. Do not purchase tokens on the expectation that they will become GBO3 currency.
- Keep receipts and account details. If a future migration policy is published, you will need the relevant platform and account information to interpret eligibility.
- Recheck official GBO3 notices before preordering or budgeting. A genuine announcement should identify the platform, region, price or access model, and exactly what an entitlement grants.
This approach avoids both extremes: assuming GBO3 will copy GBO2 exactly, or assuming that every GBO2 purchase becomes worthless. The publisher has not yet supplied enough information for either conclusion.

How can you verify future GBO3 pricing and purchase details?
When Bandai Namco publishes more information, check the claims in this order:
- Find a GBO3-specific publisher announcement. Confirm that the page names GBO3 rather than referring to a GBO2 celebration.
- Check the regional storefront listing. Prices, taxes, currencies, platform editions, and availability can differ by country.
- Read the entitlement description. Separate base access from optional currency, downloadable content, preorder bonuses, and subscription requirements.
- Look for restrictions. Check whether an item is cosmetic, gameplay-affecting, time-limited, account-bound, or platform-bound.
- Look for transfer language. A clear policy should state whether GBO2 accounts, tokens, mobile suits, cosmetics, or purchases carry over, and under what conditions.
A store page that lists a price but omits what the purchase grants is not enough to answer the “what do purchases include?” part of the question. Conversely, a GBO2 event page cannot validate a GBO3 price merely because it appears under a GBO3 announcement headline.
What remains unknown before GBO3 launches?
Players still need answers to several separate questions, and each should be confirmed independently rather than inferred from the predecessor.
- Will the base game require payment, or will access be free?
- Which consoles or other platforms will receive GBO3?
- Will there be regional price differences, physical editions, or digital-only access?
- What currencies, supply drops, downloadable content, cosmetics, or seasonal systems will exist?
- Are purchases optional, and do any affect gameplay power or progression?
- What are the release date, launch regions, and preorder terms?
- What happens to GBO2 accounts, balances, units, cosmetics, and paid entitlements?
- When will GBO2 stop operating, and how long will players have to use existing items?
Until those items appear in GBO3-specific documentation, responsible coverage should label them “not announced” rather than fill the gaps with predictions based on GBO2.
What should a trustworthy GBO3 purchase announcement contain?
A useful announcement would let a player calculate the real cost and value without guessing. At minimum, it should state the access model, supported platforms, launch regions, currency and tax treatment, and whether the game is digital or physical. It should then itemize each purchase type, its contents, expiry rules, and whether it is optional.

To maintain the grip and prevent accidental falls, it's a good practice to periodically reapply pressure to the suction cup.
For players moving from GBO2, the announcement should add a migration section covering account linkage, token and item treatment, deadlines, and platform restrictions. Without those clauses, even a headline price would answer only part of the purchasing question.
As of the current announcement, the only defensible buying guidance is to wait for those GBO3-specific details and treat every existing token promotion as a GBO2 offer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I transfer GBO2 tokens or mobile suits to GBO3?
No transfer policy has been published in the cited official material. Keep GBO2 balances and collections tied to GBO2 unless a later Bandai Namco notice explicitly defines eligible items, accounts, platforms, and deadlines.
Will GBO3 replace GBO2 on the same console?
The publisher says it does not plan to operate both games in parallel, but it has not announced a shutdown date, replacement procedure, or platform migration. A future schedule update is needed before the replacement process can be described.
Where can I check a GBO3 price for my country?
Use a GBO3-specific Bandai Namco announcement and the storefront for your region, because currency, tax, platform, and edition availability can differ. No regional GBO3 price is identified in the current announcement.
Should I save GBO2 tokens for the sequel?
There is no published promise that GBO2 tokens will work in GBO3. Spend only when the GBO2 event itself is worth it to you, and do not assign those tokens a future GBO3 value without an explicit transfer rule.
