Are Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire coming to Nintendo Switch?
There is no official confirmation of a Ruby or Sapphire port for either Nintendo Switch model. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have not published a product listing, trailer, price, release date or store page for the Hoenn games. According to the report, the posts were exactly 182 hours apart and the displayed number decreased by 182. Extending that sequence produces a projected event on 30 November 2026 at 14:00 GMT.

Pokémon HOME uses a broad “GBA games” label
Pokémon HOME version 4.1.0 added FireRed and LeafGreen connectivity under a menu icon labeled “GBA games.” Fans read the generic wording and unused menu space as a possible hint that additional Game Boy Advance games could follow. Nintendo Life reported that there was still no official Ruby or Sapphire announcement, so the label is an interface description rather than a published roadmap.
Official footage renewed speculation
Nintendo Life said an official Pokémon account shared unusually high-definition Ruby and Sapphire footage in September 2026. The cleaner-looking footage prompted theories that a port was being prepared. Image quality alone cannot establish that a new Switch version exists; archival footage, promotional material or an unrelated anniversary campaign could use the same source.
Emulator references are limited evidence
Reports about the Switch emulator build used for FireRed and LeafGreen say it contained references to Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. That supports only the narrow claim that the examined build recognized those ROM names. It does not reveal a release schedule, confirm finished software or show that Nintendo intends to publish all three games.

Did the October 8 Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald leak fail?
Yes, the specific date did not happen. Shpeshal Nick reportedly said in August that the games were planned for late September or October, while Light88 later circulated 8 October. No Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald release arrived on that date, and Light88 apologized afterward. A missed leak date is evidence against that prediction, not evidence that a later countdown must be genuine.
