What is the basic plug-in setup?
- Install the plug-in in the format supported by your DAW, then rescan the DAW’s plug-in folders.
- Create an audio track, insert the pitch plug-in before time-based effects such as delay or reverb, and select the correct input.

How do key, scale and retune controls change the sound?
Pitch correction can only make an informed decision when the musical context is right. Key and scale tell the processor which notes belong to the song; if they are wrong, a singer who is intentionally bending toward a note may be pulled toward an unwanted pitch.

How can I get clean results from a free Auto-Tune app?
- Record a controlled source. Face the microphone consistently, use a quiet room and keep a steady distance. Pitch correction cannot remove room echo or a clipped input.
- Monitor safely. Use wired headphones or direct monitoring when possible. Turn down the track rather than forcing the microphone preamp into distortion.
- Set the context first. Confirm the key, scale and tempo before judging the correction. A wrong musical setting sounds like a defective plug-in.

Check the selected key and scale first, then verify that the backing track is tuned to the same reference. Lower the correction amount and edit individual notes where available; maximum correction cannot compensate for a wrong musical target.

There is a noticeable delay while singing
Use wired headphones, close unnecessary browser or phone apps and reduce the audio buffer in a desktop DAW. If the device still cannot monitor in time, record dry with direct monitoring and apply correction after the take.
The vocal sounds metallic or unnatural
Slow the retune speed, reduce correction and preserve formants or humanize settings when the app provides them. Also check that breaths and consonants are not being forced into note detection.
The app will not export the finished track
Review the free plan’s export allowance. IchiPitchy, for example, meters selected editor, mixer, AI and Creator Studio exports even though core tuning is unmetered. In other apps, a preset or AI enhancement may be paid while basic recording remains free; remove the locked feature or choose an available export path.
The plug-in does not appear in my DAW

The biggest quality gains usually come from performance, microphone technique, monitoring and restrained settings. Pitch correction should support a convincing vocal; it should not be expected to repair clipping, severe timing problems, room noise or an incorrect arrangement.

Can I use Auto-Tune without an internet connection?
