How the protector question differs by screen
A foldable phone has two distinct surfaces to consider: the large inner panel that bends and the outer cover display. Manufacturer guidance for one surface should not be assumed to apply to the other. The evidence below is based on official manufacturer information, not independent durability tests or hands-on installation results.

Galaxy Z Fold: what to do about the inner-screen protector
Samsung states that a Galaxy foldable comes with a specially designed screen protector preinstalled on the main screen. Samsung says the film is designed to withstand repeated folding and unfolding and protect against scratches and debris. This is manufacturer guidance, not a comparative test of its durability against other films.
Samsung discourages removing the preinstalled film. Its support guidance warns that removal by the owner or a non-authorized provider can damage the screen, and that such damage is outside the Standard Limited Warranty. Warranty wording and coverage depend on the market, so check the terms that apply where the device was purchased.

If the inner film is lifting, damaged, or needs replacement
Use Samsung’s authorized service route for the applicable country and model. Samsung Gulf documents service locations for supported Galaxy Foldables in the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain; availability varies by location, so contact Samsung or the service partner first. Galaxy Z Fold7: a separate film listing, with a compatibility check
Samsung Germany lists a Galaxy Z Fold7 display-protection film and says it includes an applicator, protects against scratches, and retains touch sensitivity. However, the listing reviewed does not expressly identify whether the film is for the inner folding display or the outer cover display. That distinction matters: Samsung’s general guidance for the inner screen is to keep its preinstalled film in place and use authorized service for replacement.

Before purchasing any Fold7 film, verify the exact model and the display surface named on the package or local product listing. The Germany listing is regional evidence of an accessory, not proof that it is available in every country or appropriate for the inner screen.
iPhone Duo: confirmed displays, but no verified film guidance
Apple’s product page describes iPhone Duo as a foldable phone with a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display. Apple says availability begins October 23, 2026; that date is later than the October 4, 2026 research timestamp for the manufacturer information summarized here. The screen sizes are Apple-published specifications, not independent measurements.

Apple also names an iPhone Duo Case and an iPhone Duo Folio. Those are case accessories, not evidence that Apple sells or approves a screen protector. The official pages reviewed do not say whether owners may apply aftermarket film to either display, or identify a compatible protector. Treat claims that a particular iPhone Duo film is Apple-approved as unverified unless Apple publishes specific guidance.
