Install a driver manually only when AVITA confirms it matches your exact Altum model and Windows version. A driver for a different configuration may not be compatible.
Before troubleshooting, identify your Windows and Altum model
Write down the exact model number shown on the laptop or its documentation. In Windows, check the installed edition, version, and system type so you know whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit. These details matter if you need a manual driver: Microsoft says it must match the installed Windows version and architecture. Microsoft’s driver guidance recommends getting manual drivers from the device manufacturer rather than third-party download sites.
Do not assume that drivers for another AVITA model—or even another Altum configuration—will work. The device-specific chipset names, driver versions, installation order, and supported Windows-version matrix are not established here.
Try Windows Update first
- Connect the laptop to the internet if possible. If Wi-Fi is unavailable, use another way to get online only if it is already available to you; a separate adapter is not a required fix.
- Open Windows Settings and run Windows Update. Install available updates, including any driver updates Windows offers, then restart if prompted.
- Test the affected feature again. If Windows Update does not offer a suitable driver or the problem remains, inspect the device in Device Manager.

Find and reinstall the affected device in Device Manager
- Open Start, search for Device Manager, and open it.
- Expand the category relevant to the problem and look for the device. For a touchpad, Microsoft says to check Human Interface Devices and Mice and other pointing devices. For Wi-Fi, audio, or display issues, inspect the relevant category and device entries, but do not assume a particular Altum chipset or device name.
- Right-click the affected device and choose Update driver. Follow the prompts to search for a driver.
- If updating does not help, you can uninstall the device in Device Manager and restart Windows. Windows may then try to reinstall the driver. Use this option only for the affected device, and ensure you can restart and sign in afterward.
Microsoft describes updating and reinstalling drivers through Device Manager for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Its touchpad guidance also explains the relevant Device Manager categories and recommends contacting the device manufacturer if updating or reinstalling does not resolve the issue. When to install an AVITA driver manually
If Windows Update and Device Manager do not solve the issue, ask AVITA for a driver that matches the exact model number and your installed Windows version and architecture. Use a download only when AVITA identifies it as applicable to that configuration. Microsoft advises against downloading drivers from non-manufacturer sites.

AVITA’s support page lists regional contacts, and the appropriate contact or service availability can vary by location. Confirm the current contact for your region and ask AVITA which driver set, if any, is supported for your Altum and Windows installation: AVITA support.

There is no confirmed universal AVITA Altum driver bundle or recovery image, nor a verified list here of Altum Wi-Fi chipsets, audio codecs, graphics devices, touchpad hardware IDs, driver versions, or supported Windows releases. That means a package or compatibility claim for a different AVITA model is not a safe substitute for confirmation from AVITA.
