Fallen City Brawl supports two-player local co-op on one system, but it does not have native online multiplayer, LAN play, or four-player co-op. The campaign uses a shared screen, so both fighters stay in the same scrolling view rather than occupying separate split-screen halves. On Windows, connect the controllers before launching, choose NEW GAME or CONTINUE, have Player 2 press A, and select a character. Steam’s Remote Play Together is the only documented way to take that local mode online, and it works from one host PC rather than through native console or game-server multiplayer.
This guide covers the exact PC join sequence, console setup, controller choices, Remote Play Together, system requirements, Steam Deck status, prices checked in October 2026, and the current physical-edition situation.
What multiplayer does Fallen City Brawl support?
Fallen City Brawl is a one-to-two-player beat ’em up. Two people can play the full campaign together on one PC or console, simultaneously, with each player controlling a fighter. The supported local mode is shared-screen co-op: the camera follows both characters in one view.
Steam labels the feature with its combined Shared/Split Screen Co-op tag, which is why store searches may describe the game as split-screen. Independent co-op listings identify the actual layout as shared screen supported and divided split screen not supported. Expect two characters moving along the same scrolling belt, not a display divided into two camera windows.

Supported
- One or two players on one system.
- Co-op campaign with drop-in/drop-out play; Co-Optimus says a friend can join while the campaign is in progress.
- Local play on Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or Xbox on PC.
- Steam Remote Play Together for streaming the local PC mode to a remote friend.
Not supported
- Native online co-op or an online multiplayer player count.
- LAN or System Link play.
- Mixed local-and-online sessions.
- Dedicated servers.
- A versus playlist.
- Four-player local play.
Nintendo lists Single system (1–2), PlayStation lists 1–2 players with offline play, and Xbox lists Xbox local co-op (2-2). Those listings agree with Eastasiasoft’s fact sheet, which gives the game a one-to-two-player count. Older database entries that show four players conflict with every current official listing and should not be used when planning a session.
How do I add Player 2 on PC?
The documented Windows sequence is short. Use two controllers if possible, and plug them in before starting the game so Windows and Steam assign them before the title reaches its menu.
- Connect the controllers before launching. A USB gamepad or an Xbox-compatible PC controller is the straightforward choice for the second player. Check that both appear in Windows or Steam Input first.
- Start Fallen City Brawl and choose NEW GAME or CONTINUE. Player 2 joins from the campaign entry screen rather than from a separate online lobby.
- Have Player 2 press A. This is the join button documented in the PC setup instructions. On a differently mapped controller, press the button that Steam or the game presents as A.
- Select Character. Once Player 2 has joined and chosen a fighter, begin the campaign. Co-op is simultaneous and uses the same camera.
The safest documented arrangement is two controllers. A co-op video also reports a keyboard player paired with a gamepad, but the publisher has not published a complete keyboard-and-controller compatibility matrix. One co-op database marks “controllers only” and “same mouse and keyboard” as unsupported, so do not plan on two people sharing one keyboard. If Player 2 cannot join, return to the title or campaign entry screen after reconnecting the controller and repeat the sequence.
How do I start local co-op on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2?
Nintendo’s listing confirms Single system (1–2) and the feature text Play together on one console. There is no native online co-op player count on the listing; Nintendo Switch Online is shown for Save Data Cloud, not for online multiplayer in this game.
Docked Switch or Switch 2
- Pair or attach two controllers. A standard docked setup can use the two supplied Joy-Con as separate controllers, or you can use two larger gamepads.
- Launch the game and enter the campaign.
- Have the second player press the join button shown on screen, then choose a character.
The store lists Switch 2 as supported and says, “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch.” The listed download size is 225 MB on Switch and Switch 2. The game supports TV, tabletop, and handheld play modes.

Switch Lite
Two people cannot comfortably use the built-in controls as two independent full controllers. Nintendo warns that software compatibility and play experience may differ on Switch Lite and that additional accessories may be required, so plan on extra Joy-Con or other compatible controllers for two-player play.
How do I start local co-op on PlayStation?
The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 listings specify 1–2 players, offline play, and local co-op. No PlayStation Plus requirement is stated for this offline mode.
Recommended Free Tools
- Sign in on the console and connect a second DualShock 4 or DualSense controller, depending on the system.
- Launch the game and start or continue the campaign.
- Watch for the Player 2 join prompt and have the second controller accept it.
- Choose a character and play on the shared camera.
The official store pages do not publish a button-by-button console tutorial equivalent to the PC instruction to press A. The exact prompt can therefore vary with the controller and menu state. Buying the PlayStation digital version entitles you to both the PS4 and PS5 versions.
How do I start local co-op on Xbox?
Xbox lists Xbox local co-op (2-2) and single-player support. The listing does not name an Xbox online co-op capability, so the two-player feature is local to the Xbox console or Xbox-on-PC device that is running the game.
- Connect a second Xbox Wireless Controller or another supported gamepad.
- Start Fallen City Brawl and enter the campaign.
- Use the on-screen join prompt for Player 2, then select a character.
Xbox Play Anywhere means one purchase covers the Xbox console and Xbox-on-PC versions. It does not create an online slot or let two devices join one campaign remotely; both players still need to be on the same running copy with two controllers.

Can I play with a friend online?
There is no native online multiplayer mode on the currently listed versions. Steam Remote Play Together is the one documented workaround: Steam streams the host’s local session to a remote friend, allowing that friend to control Player 2 without owning a second copy.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Steam Remote Play Together
- The host owns and runs the Steam copy.
- Invite the friend through Steam’s Remote Play Together overlay.
- The host’s PC supplies the game session; the friend’s input is sent back through Steam.
- Both players are effectively sharing the same local co-op session, not joining a developer-operated online server.
This feature requires the Steam version and Steam’s client. It is not available through the GOG build, and the console listings do not advertise an equivalent remote mode. Expect the quality of the remote session to depend on the host’s and guest’s network connections because the game is being streamed rather than using native netcode.
Which controllers and PC hardware do I need?
A USB PC game controller or an Xbox-compatible controller is the simplest recommendation for Player 2. The game’s documented PC join prompt uses the A button, and GOG lists controller support. A Steam snapshot also labels the game as having full controller support and recommends a gamepad, although the Steam feature list retrieved on 29 October 2026 did not separately print a full-controller-support chip.
No particular controller brand is required. Connect both pads before launch, then confirm that each is assigned to a different player in Steam or Windows. If one controller is detected as Player 1, disconnect it, reconnect both, and relaunch before entering the campaign.
Minimum Windows requirements
| Requirement | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10/11; GOG states Windows 10 or later |
| Processor | Intel Core Duo E6600 at 2.4 GHz |
| Memory | 2 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Intel 4400, AMD Radeon HD 4650, or GeForce GT 8800 |

| Storage | 2 GB available space |
Steam and GOG list Windows as the supported PC operating system. Neither listing retrieved for this guide provides an official macOS or Linux build. A Steam demo is also available from the game’s store page.

Does it run on Steam Deck?
pcgame.com reports Valve’s Steam Deck verification as Verified. The reported criteria include accessible functionality with the default controller configuration, Steam Deck controller icons, legible in-game text, and graphics settings that perform well by default. Two people sharing one Deck still need a second controller; the Verified label does not promise that the built-in controls alone provide two independent players.
What is included in the co-op campaign?
The campaign has seven stages and four playable fighters. The official product copy describes combos, counters, air throws, grappling, parries, special moves, RIOT supers, improvised weapons, a wolf companion, and upgradeable mercenary backup. Weapons listed by the publisher include pipes, bats, knives, firearms, oil drums, chainsaws, and hammers.
Eastasiasoft and Fallen City Studio describe the game as playable solo or with friends in local co-op. Store and fact-sheet pages do not publish an official character-name list, move list, button map, RIOT-meter values, or frame data. Community labels for the fighters should therefore not be treated as publisher-confirmed names.
Which platform is best for a two-player session?
The choice depends mainly on whether the friend is in the room, whether you already own controllers, and whether you need a physical edition.
| Use case | Most suitable option | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Remote friend from another home | Steam on Windows | Remote Play Together is the only documented remote route. |
| Two people on one television | Switch, PlayStation, or Xbox | Each platform lists one-system local play for two players. |
| Portable two-player play | Switch or Steam Deck with a second controller | Switch supports handheld/tabletop modes; Deck is reported Verified, but both need another controller for two players. |
| DRM-free offline PC play | GOG | GOG lists local co-op, controller support, and DRM-free play without Galaxy. |
| One Xbox purchase across console and PC | Xbox Play Anywhere version | The license covers Xbox console and Xbox on PC, while local co-op remains on the device running the game. |
Every platform checked covers two people with one local copy on the same system. Steam Family Sharing and Nintendo family-group lending are license-sharing features; they do not add online player slots or turn the game into a network co-op title.

Is there a physical copy?
Physical editions for Switch and PS5 were announced as in development and expected to ship in November 2026. That wording is an expected month, not confirmation that boxed copies are already in stock or that a precise street date has been published. The live Nintendo listing retrieved for this guide was digital.

What should I do if Player 2 cannot join?
- Reconnect before launching: close the game, connect both controllers, and start it again. The PC instructions specifically require controllers to be connected before launch.
- Check the active screen: on PC, join from NEW GAME or CONTINUE, then press A. A prompt may not appear in a settings or pause screen.
- Check controller assignment: verify that each pad is visible to Windows, Steam Input, or the console as a separate device.
- Use a conventional gamepad: a USB or Xbox-compatible controller is less ambiguous than a remapped keyboard. The documented PC join action is A.
- Do not search for an online lobby: there is no native online, LAN, or dedicated-server mode to join.
- On Switch Lite: add the extra controllers Nintendo says may be required; the built-in handheld controls are not a two-controller solution.
- For Remote Play Together: launch the Steam copy on the host PC first, then invite the guest through Steam. The guest is joining the host’s local session, not a console or GOG network mode.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the Fallen City Brawl campaign take to finish?
HowLongToBeat’s GOG product-page listing shows 0.5 hours for the main path. One GOG owner reported a first clear of roughly 30–45 minutes, but that is an individual experience rather than a guaranteed campaign length; the same review also described noticeable character-balance differences.
Is Fallen City Brawl officially available with named characters?
The Steam, GOG, Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and Eastasiasoft store or fact-sheet pages do not publish an official character-name block. Community videos and owner reviews use names such as Sgt. Clay, Ricco, Iron Jackson, and Natasha, but those labels should not be presented as publisher-confirmed without a later manual or store citation.
What languages and achievements are included on Steam?
The Steam language information covers nine interface or subtitle languages, including English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Steam listings also show 19 achievements and Steam leaderboards.
