Indian technology and startup companies raised $245.9 million across 22 rounds in the week ended October 23, 2026, according to Tracxn data reported by The Economic Times. The weekly total rose 6.2% from the preceding week but was 26.7% below the same week a year earlier.

This is an aggregate market figure, not a single company’s financing. The largest highlighted rounds were Even Healthcare’s $50 million, Different’s $48 million, Baba Care’s $40 million and AuxoAI’s $20.7 million.

How much did Indian startups raise this week?

The reported total was $245.9 million from 22 funding rounds during the week ending October 23, 2026. Tracxn’s figures show a modest week-to-week increase but a substantially weaker result than the comparable week in 2025.

Measure Reported result
Total funding $245.9 million
Number of rounds 22
Change from previous week Up 6.2%
Change from the same week a year earlier Down 26.7%
Headline rounding About $246 million, down 27% year over year

The percentage comparisons describe the weekly market total. They do not mean that any one startup raised $246 million or that every company experienced a 27% decline.

Which startups led this week’s funding?

Even Healthcare was the largest of the four transactions highlighted in the digest, followed by Different, Baba Care and AuxoAI.

Startup Reported round What was disclosed
Even Healthcare $50 million Led by existing investor Khosla Ventures, with Alpha Wave participating
Different $48 million General Catalyst was identified as an investor
Baba Care $40 million General Catalyst was identified as an investor
AuxoAI $20.7 million The digest identifies the raise but does not give additional round terms

What is Even Healthcare doing with its $50 million?

The Bengaluru-based managed-healthcare startup said it would use the funding to expand its hospital network and scale its managed-care model. It operated two hospitals in Bengaluru and planned to open five more in the city within the next six months. The round was led by existing backer Khosla Ventures, with Alpha Wave participating.

What were the disclosed details for Different and Baba Care?

The digest lists Different’s $48 million financing and Baba Care’s $40 million financing among the week’s largest highlighted deals. General Catalyst backed both companies; no further use-of-funds or valuation detail was provided for either round.

Why is the weekly total down 26.7% year over year?

The available figures establish the size of the decline, not a single cause. A lower weekly total can result from fewer transactions, smaller average rounds, or a different balance between late-stage and earlier financings. The digest gives the number of rounds and stage shares, but not a complete deal-by-deal breakdown that would identify which factor dominated.

The week-over-week increase of 6.2% also shows why a single seven-day period should not be treated as a trend on its own. Comparing several consecutive weeks, the number of rounds, and the size of the largest transactions gives a more reliable picture of market direction.

How many rounds were early-stage, seed-stage and late-stage?

Early-stage companies received most of the capital reported for the week. Seed financing represented about one-quarter of the total, while late-stage deals made up only a small share.

Stage Share of weekly capital
Early stage 70.8%
Seed stage 25.2%
Late stage 4.1%

These are capital shares, not counts of rounds. A small number of large early-stage transactions can therefore produce a high early-stage percentage even when seed companies account for many individual deals.

What other financing activity was reported?

Beyond the four largest highlighted transactions, the digest names several rounds and growth financings across healthcare, energy, consumer brands and software.

Navitas Solar

Solar-module manufacturer Navitas Solar secured growth capital of up to $20 million from Swiss impact asset manager responsAbility. The company said it planned backward integration into solar-cell manufacturing, including a 2.2 GW facility, while expanding across India’s domestic solar value chain.

Greenzo Energy

Greenzo Energy raised Rs 130 crore, reported as $13.7 million, in a round led by Ashish Kacholia and associates. Its reported post-money valuation was about Rs 1,030 crore. Planned uses included electrolyser manufacturing, backward integration, research and development, working capital and project execution.

The Pant Project

Premium menswear company The Pant Project raised Rs 109 crore, reported as $11.5 million. Mirae Asset Venture Investments led the round, with existing investor Sorin Investments and others participating. The company planned to add offline stores, enter more apparel categories and expand its team.

Other named rounds

The digest also identifies a $10 million Battery Smart round and funding for Hunar.AI and Karta, in addition to AuxoAI’s $20.7 million raise. It does not provide complete terms for every one of these transactions.

Who invested in the companies named in the digest?

The investor disclosures show several firms appearing across more than one transaction. General Catalyst backed both Baba Care and Different. Blume Ventures invested in Hunar.AI and Harajuku, while Seedstars participated in Hunar.AI and Karta.

Those repeat appearances indicate investor activity across multiple deals, but they do not by themselves show investment size, ownership, lead status or whether a fund invested from the same vehicle in each company.

How should you compare this week with another funding week?

Use the same five measures each time so that a headline total does not obscure changes in deal quality or composition.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Total dollars: compare the aggregate amount, keeping the currency and any rounding in view.
  2. Round count: check whether a larger total came from more transactions or a few unusually large ones.
  3. Stage mix: separate seed, early-stage and late-stage capital because they signal different financing conditions.
  4. Deal concentration: identify how much of the total sits in the largest one or two rounds.
  5. Investor and sector mix: note whether activity is broad or concentrated in a small set of funds and industries.

Applied here, the headline is a $245.9 million week with 22 rounds, a dominant early-stage share and four prominently reported transactions. The 26.7% year-over-year comparison is meaningful, but it should be read alongside those structural details rather than alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the dollar and rupee amounts calculated using the same exchange rate?

The report supplies dollar equivalents for the rupee-denominated rounds, but it does not state the exchange rate or conversion date. Treat the dollar figures as the publication’s reported equivalents rather than as a separately calculated currency conversion.

What does “up to $20 million” mean in Navitas Solar’s financing?

It describes a maximum amount of growth capital available under the arrangement, not necessarily cash drawn in full on the closing date. The disclosed total for the week should therefore be interpreted according to how the reporting counted that financing.

Can one week of funding predict India’s startup market for the quarter?

No. Weekly totals can swing when a single large round closes or slips into another reporting period. A quarterly view should aggregate multiple weeks and examine round count, stage mix and deal concentration.

Why might the stage percentages add up to slightly more than 100%?

The published stage shares are rounded to one decimal place. Rounding each category independently can make the displayed total differ marginally from exactly 100%.
