Why is Dropbox cutting jobs if it says the business is profitable?
Dropbox says the restructuring is intended to align investment levels and team structure with its product and growth priorities. Co-CEO Ashraf Alkarmi wrote that “Our business is profitable, and we’ve built real momentum this year,” framing the cuts as a resource-allocation decision rather than a claim that the company has become unviable.
The filing does not say that revenue guidance was reduced because of the workforce action. Instead, Dropbox said preliminary third-quarter 2026 revenue, constant-currency revenue and non-GAAP operating margin were expected to be in line with or above prior guidance ahead of the scheduled November 5 results release.

Does the announcement mean Dropbox is lowering its revenue outlook?
