What does DRM-free mean for a PC game?

That does not mean every feature is offline. Multiplayer, cloud saves, achievements, live-service content, and other network-dependent features may need an internet connection even when the single-player game works offline. Treat those features as separate from the ability to launch and play the offline portion.
It also helps to separate three questions that storefront labels can blur together:
- Can you get the files directly? A standalone installer or direct download is different from a key that must be redeemed on Steam, Epic, or another platform.
