As of October 29, 2026, you can play the public QUIET demo from its official Steam store page even though the full game is still planned for Q1 2027. Open Steam, find QUIET, select Download beneath Download QUIET Demo, allow Steam to install it, then launch the demo from your Library. The developer’s October 21 announcement says the demo is available to download and play now.
QUIET is a 1–4-player online co-op horror game about alien ducks whose movement, voices and other sounds can attract danger. Steam’s listing marks a microphone as required, so have a working headset or other microphone connected before you start.

- Open the Steam desktop client, or open Steam in a browser and search for QUIET.
- Open the official QUIET store page. Check that the page identifies the game and shows the demo section; do not use a similarly named file-hosting page.
- Scroll to Download QUIET Demo and select the Download button. The store page currently exposes this control even though the full game is marked as not yet available.
- If Steam asks you to open the desktop client, accept the prompt. Sign in to the Steam account that should add and play the demo.
- Choose a Steam Library location if the client asks where to install it. Make sure the selected drive has at least the listed 4 GB of available space, with additional room for Steam’s installation files and future updates.

Arcade Mode: Duck Out!
Duck Out! is a competitive minigame in which players trip friends, knock them from a platform and try to survive until the end. It is a more direct player-versus-player contrast to the mansion’s stealth-focused co-op scenario.
Halloween event content
The announcement also mentions temporary Halloween skins and Halloween-themed objects connected with the Steam Scream V Fest period. Treat those as event content rather than guaranteed permanent features. Seasonal cosmetics or objects can disappear when the event period ends or when the demo is updated.

The microphone requirement is functional, not merely a recommendation. QUIET’s store description says “Every sound matters. Microphone required.” A headset with an integrated microphone is a practical setup because it keeps voice input close to your mouth and reduces the chance that game audio will feed back into the microphone.

Before entering a multiplayer session, connect your microphone, check that Windows detects it and make sure any physical mute switch is off. In Steam, review the voice-input device in the client’s voice settings if the game does not receive the expected signal. Keep the microphone close enough for clear speech without placing it directly in front of a loud speaker.
Because the game’s premise treats sound as a risk, explain the microphone mechanic to friends before starting. Background conversations, music and keyboard noise may be heard by other players and can affect communication or the in-game sound challenge. On the first launch, Windows or Steam may request firewall, microphone or other permission changes. Review each prompt and allow access only through the official Steam and game processes. If you change audio devices later, close and relaunch the demo so it can reinitialize the selected input.

How do I play with other people?
QUIET is listed as a 1–4-player online co-op game, so you can play alone or with up to three other players. Start the demo from your Library, then use the game’s displayed multiplayer or session controls. Steam’s normal friend and invite features may be available, but the supplied official information does not specify a particular invite screen or matchmaking rule.

How do I fix a failed or stalled installation?
First, open Steam’s Downloads view and read the status rather than repeatedly clicking the store button. Resume a paused download, verify that the destination drive has sufficient free space and confirm that Steam is not waiting for another update to finish.

Steam lists 4 GB of available storage as the recommended requirement. If the installation will not start, remove unused files or select another Steam Library drive with adequate capacity. Leave additional space beyond the published figure for temporary unpacking and updates.
To remove the demo through Steam, open Library, right-click the QUIET demo entry, choose Manage and then Uninstall. You can return to the store page later and download it again while the demo remains available. Uninstalling removes local files but does not change the planned Q1 2027 status of the full game.

No. Use the official Steam store page and Steam client. A third-party executable can be modified, outdated or malicious, and it will not provide the account, update and Library integration of the official demo.
