Fix Pinterest redirecting to an app store
If Pinterest repeatedly sends a mobile browser to Google Play or the App Store, clear the browser’s cache and cookies, then open Pinterest again. If an old Pinterest app is still installed, links may continue opening in that app. Uninstalling the app forces those links to open in the mobile browser instead.
What not to download
- Random Windows EXE files: use the Microsoft Store or Pinterest’s website instead. A third-party download page is not the verified Windows distribution route.
- Chrome Web Store “Pinterest apps”: Chrome Web Store apps are no longer supported on Windows, macOS, or Linux. Install Pinterest as a web app directly from the Pinterest website.
- Pinterest Save Button: this is a separate browser extension for saving webpages to Pinterest, not the Pinterest mobile or desktop app. In Edge, find it through the Microsoft Store listing for Pinterest Save Button and select Get.
