The Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 is an entry-level business laptop that offers adequate performance for office tasks and internet operations. Moreover, despite offering decent performance, this laptop is reasonably priced.

As of November 2021, the time I wrote this review, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 had a starting price of $489.00. Though it isn’t the most affordable Dell laptop available, this Dell Inspirion comes with a lot of great features and amazing performance that makes it worth the price.

Dell Inspiron 3000 3510: Design, Dimension, and Weight

Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 is a simple yet powerful laptop that features a single color option. Specifically, this laptop is only available in titan black color.

In terms of looks, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 laptop is not eye-catchy, the laptop can barely stand beside most recent laptops. A single look at the exterior of this laptop, you might want to change your mind.

However, this is not to say that the laptop looks particularly bad, rather it just has a simple design. It is fair to say that what the laptop lacks in looks it makes up for in performance.

With that being said, let’s talk about the design feature of the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510.

To start with, the exterior of the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 features a smooth lid with a titan black finish, as expected. On the surface of the lid of this laptop, you will see a Dell logo boldly inscribed in the middle.

This logo gives the laptop a little bit of elegance, just a little bit!

Moving on, at first glance into the interior, you will be greeted by an impressive 15.6-inch display. Furthermore, this Dell Inspiron laptop offers two resolution options for its 15.6-inch display.

Specifically, you can get the laptop’s display with an HD (1366 x 768) or FHD (1920 x 1080) resolution. However, this review focuses on the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 with a 15.6-inch FHD resolution (1920 x 1080) display.

This 15.6-inch FHD display of the Dell Inspiron features an IPS panel. An IPS panel makes the content on the display clear from all viewing angles.

Also, the display of the laptop features an Anti-glare coating, which Improves visual clarity and prevents reflection. Hence, giving the display a better appearance and reduced eye strain for the user.

Furthermore, the laptop’s 15.6-inch display is surrounded by slim bezels. At the top bezel of the laptop’s display is the HD webcam placed at the mid-section.

Moving on to the base, you will see a neatly placed backlit keyboard, with black keys hinted in grey markings. The keys on this keyboard are spaced in perfect order to support all user preferences.

Furthermore, the keys on the keyboard respond effortlessly when typing. This is because the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510’s keyboard has key travel of 1.7 mm.

Briefly, key travel is the total distance from the keyboard’s key at rest to full depression until it hits bottom.

Below the keyboard, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 features a trackpad, which is positioned more to the left. Additionally, the amazingly smooth surface of the laptop’s trackpad enabled scrolling and multi-touch gestures to be performed with ease.

Moving on to the laptop’s ports, on the sides of the laptop, you will find the ports distributed. To be more precise, the right side houses an SD card slot and a single USB 2.0 port.

Additionally, you will find an HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 ports, and a headphone jack on the left side of the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510.

At the front, the Dell Inspiron is with fluted sharp edges. These fluted edges give the laptop great and firm lapping when closed.

Therefore, you cannot open the laptop with just one hand.

Moving on, in terms of build, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 is mostly made up of plastic. Generally, laptops made with plastic usually weigh less, hence one would expect the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 to be less heavy.

Interestingly, this claim is true as the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 measures 358.5 x 235.56 x 17.5 mm and weighs only 1650 g. Comparatively, the Acer Aspire 1 measure 363.2 x 238.7 x 19.8 mm in dimension and weigh 1900.5 g.

In conclusion, the simplicity and neat finishing of this laptop make the ideal work laptop. Therefore I will be rating the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 an eight in this section of the review.

Dell Inspiron 3000 3510: Processor (CPU) Performance

When it comes to the processor, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 offers two processor options. The first processor option is the dual-core Intel Celeron N4020, which has a base frequency of 1.10 GHz and 3.10 GHz maximum frequency.

Furthermore, this processor has a 4 MB cache memory. The second processor option of the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 a quad-core Intel Pentium N5030.

This processor also has a base frequency of 1.10 GHz and a 4 MB cache memory. However, it has a maximum frequency of 2.80 GHz.

Following that, it is important to note that either of these processor options works perfectly fine with other components of the laptop in yielding the right results for the user.

With that being said, it is worth noting that this review of the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 is based on Intel Pentium N5030 processor. Just like the other processor option, this Intel Pentium N5030 is a low-end processor most suitable for notebooks.

However, thanks to the processor’s core and speed (frequencies), the processor’s ability can be fully utilized. The reason for this is that the processor cores of the laptop can execute up to four threads simultaneously.

Hence, basic tasks like word processing, web browsing, and moderate multitasking will work just fine on the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 without delay.

Moving on, let’s quickly discuss the processor performance using the Geekbench 4 benchmark test tool. Briefly, the Geekbench 4 is a benchmark tool used in measuring a laptop’s processor’s core performance.

In this performance test, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 with the Intel Pentium N5030 processor scored 79 points on the single-core test. However, on the multi-core test, the laptop scored 249 points.

In comparison, the Acer Aspire 1 processor scored 78 points in the single-core test and 210 points in the multi-core test. It is crucial to mention that the Acer Aspire 1 uses an Intel Celeron N4500 processor with dual-core.

Overall, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 processor performs quite well even for business tasks. Therefore I will be rating the laptop an eight in this section of the review.

Dell Inspiron 3000 3510: Memory (RAM) Performance Review

Before we begin this section, bear in mind that the RAM of a laptop is one of the important components of the laptop. It is, therefore, necessary to have a RAM type that adequately facilitates your daily system usage.

The reason for this is that the RAM of a laptop supports the processor to carry out multiple operations simultaneously. Hence, the higher the RAM, the swifter the operations.

To this effect, this review of Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 is based on 8 GB DDR4 2400 MHz RAM. However, this laptop offers a single memory slot and 8 GB is also the maximum RAM it supports.

Moreover, you can also purchase the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 with 4 GB RAM. Having said all that, let’s briefly talk about the performance of the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 with 8 GB RAM.

Firstly, I would like to start with the real-world test. The Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 should perform fluidly with 20 chrome tabs opened and up to three YouTube videos streaming.

Moreover, this laptop should do excellently well when switching in between the Chrome browser tabs. According to this test, it is ideal to say that the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 with 8 GB is more than adequate for multitasking.

Moving on, I will now be sharing the laptop’s performance result from PCMark 10 benchmark test. PCMark 10 is a benchmark test tool that helps to score the overall performance of laptops when placed under an office-related workload.

In the above test, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 scored 1900 points. In comparison, the Acer Aspire 1 scored 1879 points.

Judging by the result of this test, Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 performed significantly well than its competitor. Hence, the laptop is a great pick specifically for office-related work.

On this note, I will be rating the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 an eight out of ten in this section of this review.

Dell Inspiron 3000 3510: Storage Options and Performance

As an individual aiming to get a laptop, one of the major factors to put into consideration is the laptop’s storage capacity.

Therefore, it is necessary to get a laptop whose storage option best suits your daily needs. Having said that, let’s take a look at the Dell Inspiron storage configurations.

This Dell Inspiron has two storage options. These options include 5400 RPM SATA HDD or M.2 PCIe NVMe 2×4 SSD.

Both of these storage options support a maximum storage capacity of 2 TB. If that isn’t enough, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 also offers a single 3.0 SD card reader for storage expansion.

Moving on, my review of Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 considers the laptop with 512 GB M.2 PCIe NVMe 2×4 SSD.

SSD (Solid state drive) is by far the best storage available in the laptop world. This is because it offers great speed and runs silently.

I would have provided the transfer speed of the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 SSD storage like I normally do. However, due to insufficient information, I am unable to.

Nevertheless, I will be using the CrystalDiskMark benchmark tool to further prove the laptop’s storage performance. CrystalDiskMark is a benchmark tool that measures the average read and write speed of a laptop’s storage drive.

On the CrystalDiskMark test, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 delivered a read and write speed of 164 MBps and 159.39 MBps respectively. Comparatively, the HP 14’s M.2 SSD has a read and write speed of 92.48 MBps and 101 MBps respectively.

Based on the result of the above test, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 outperformed the HP 14. Therefore, I will score Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 a rating of nine in this section of the review.

Dell Inspiron 3000 3510: Graphics Card Performance

For the graphic department, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 makes use of the Intel UHD Graphics card. This Intel UHD Graphics is an integrated GPU that offers a base frequency of 200 MHz and a maximum frequency of 750 MHz.

As I mentioned above, this graphics card is integrated, which means that it is built into the CPU and shares memory with the processor. Therefore, don’t expect the laptop to run graphics-intensive apps or games.

Nevertheless, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 with the Intel UHD Graphics is okay for playing basic games like Candy Crush. Basically, most of the games on the Microsoft store should run perfectly on the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510.

Having said all that, let’s quickly evaluate the graphics performance of the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 using the 3DMark 11 benchmark tool. The 3DMark 11 is a benchmark tool that measures the GPU performance of a laptop.

On this 3DMark 11 test, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 scored 2283 points. In comparison, the Hp MT21 scored 1074 points.

Therefore, it is obvious that the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 completely threw off the HP MT21 in this GPU performance test. However, it is worth noting that the HP MT21 uses an Intel HD Graphics 610 graphics card.

Lastly, I will be rating the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 a seven in this section of the review.

Dell Inspiron 3000 3510: Battery Life and Performance

For the battery, Dell was so kind enough to provide multiple options. You can buy the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 with either a 3 cell 41 Wh Lithium-polymer or a 4 cell 54 Wh Lithium-polymer battery.

My review, however, is based on the Dell Inspiron 3000 that comes with a 4 cell 54 Wh Lithium-polymer battery. According to Dell, this laptop battery should last up to 8 hours.

Furthermore, Dell also claims that you can fast-charge the battery to 80% in just one hour. However, it is so hard nowadays to believe manufacturers’ claims.

Therefore, I carried out a battery test to find out the actual battery life of the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510. On this test, the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 lasted 6 hours and 50 minutes at minimum screen brightness when surfing the web continuously using WIFI.

In comparison, the Acer Aspire 1 lasted 6 hours 23 minutes on this same test. Even though the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 lasted longer than its competitor, its battery life is far from what Dell claimed.

Hence, I will rate the Dell Inspiron 3000 3510 an eight out of ten in this section of the review.
