The Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1 DB06250 is best suited to buyers who want a large, sharp touchscreen that folds into tablet mode—not commuters seeking long battery life or a light laptop. Its optional 16-inch Mini-LED panel is the standout, but reflections, modest results in two independent battery tests, and configuration differences make the exact SKU important. The Mini-LED version makes sense if the screen and 360-degree hinge are priorities; otherwise, compare the less costly base display and other laptops before buying.

Which Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1 configuration is this review about?

Dell identifies this laptop as model DB06250, but its specifications depend on the configuration. One Dell-listed option has an Intel Core Ultra 9 288V, 32GB LPDDR5X memory, a 1TB SSD, integrated Intel Arc graphics, and the optional Mini-LED display. Laptop Mag tested a different configuration: Core Ultra 7 258V, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and a Mini-LED touchscreen. Those are distinct machines; do not assume their benchmark results or listed components apply to every DB06250.

Dell’s product listing gives a starting weight of 4.52 pounds (2.05kg) and dimensions of 14.05 × 9.87 × 0.67 inches. That is a substantial chassis for a laptop likely to be carried between classes or meetings. Dell’s configuration specifications list a 64Wh battery, 65W USB-C adapter, Wi-Fi 7, and Dell Active Pen PN5122W for the cited option. Confirm the actual SKU and package contents before ordering; the available listings do not establish that every regional or retail version includes the same screen or pen.

Prices shown on Dell listings have varied by configuration and included time-limited offers. Treat neither a previously displayed price nor another configuration’s price as a current quote: check the selected SKU, region, and live listing.

What does the optional Mini-LED display offer?

Dell lists the optional panel as a 16-inch touchscreen with 2560 × 1600 resolution, HDR 600, and a 90Hz refresh rate. Engadget says its review unit’s optional screen could reach 600 nits, contrasting it with a base 1920 × 1200 FHD+ panel rated at 300 nits. Check which panel is selected: the Mini-LED experience is not standard across all configurations.

Laptop Mag found its review unit’s display bright, reasonably sharp, vivid, and color-accurate, but noted substantial reflections, particularly in dark scenes. In that outlet’s measurements, it reached 446 nits, covered 123% of sRGB and 87% of DCI-P3, and recorded 0.22 color accuracy. These are Laptop Mag’s results for its tested unit, not guaranteed figures for every panel or configuration.

The large, high-resolution touch surface suits people who want room for documents, browsing, media, or creative work and value folding the screen back for touch interaction. Reflections can be distracting in bright rooms or when watching dark content, so the panel’s brightness does not make it glare-free. The collected comparisons do not establish that it is better than currently available OLED alternatives; compare the actual panels, prices, and finishes on offer.

How fast is the Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1?

Laptop Mag’s Core Ultra 7 258V review unit scored 11,152 in Geekbench 6 and completed that outlet’s Handbrake test in 7 minutes 8 seconds. Those results point to capability for everyday productivity and lighter content tasks on the tested configuration, not a promise of identical performance from every SKU.

Its integrated graphics can handle some lighter gaming, but this is not a dedicated gaming laptop. Laptop Mag recorded 58 fps in its Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Gathering Storm test and a 3DMark Fire Strike score of 9,177. Engadget cautioned that the lack of discrete graphics makes the machine a poor fit for regular serious video editing, gaming, or 3D modeling. Performance varies with the application and workload; buyers whose work depends on sustained GPU power should look for a laptop with discrete graphics.

How long does the battery last?

Two 2025 reviews reported different results using different test methods. Laptop Mag measured 7 hours 37 minutes on its tested DB06250 configuration and called battery life its biggest weakness. Engadget measured 8 hours 12 minutes in PCMark 10 Modern Office and described that result as above average for its class, while noting that smaller, less powerful laptops can last longer.

These are outlet-specific test results, not a combined runtime estimate or a guarantee for daily use. Battery life depends on workload, display, software, and power settings; the cited Dell configuration has a 64Wh battery. The tests support a practical caution: if you regularly work away from an outlet for a full day, do not choose this model on the assumption it will last that long.

Is it practical to carry, and what ports does it have?

At 4.52 pounds, the DB06250 is large and heavy for regular commuting, a drawback amplified by its 16-inch footprint. Its convertible hinge adds flexibility for touch use and viewing, but does not make the machine compact when carried.

Dell lists these connections on its product page:

  • One USB-A port
  • One USB-C 10Gbps port with DisplayPort and power delivery
  • One Thunderbolt 4 port with DisplayPort and power delivery
  • HDMI 2.1
  • Universal audio jack

Laptop Mag considered the selection sparse. If you routinely connect several peripherals, an optional USB-C hub or dock may help; whether you need one depends on your setup.

Who should buy the Mini-LED Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1?

  • Consider it if you want a large, high-resolution touchscreen, a 360-degree hinge, and a bright display for media, browsing, and everyday work.
  • Think twice if reflective screens bother you, you carry your laptop often, or you need dependable full-day battery life away from power.
  • Look elsewhere if demanding gaming, 3D work, or regular serious video editing is central to your workload; the reviewed configurations use integrated graphics.
  • Check alternatives by evidence: Laptop Mag compares it with the Asus Vivobook 16 Flip (TP3607), Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 16 (2025), and MacBook Air M4 15-inch. The MacBook Air is not a convertible. Compare the actual display and finish, review battery results with their test methods, weigh size and ports, and confirm current prices for comparable configurations.

Verdict

The Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1 is a screen-first, large-format convertible rather than an easy recommendation for everyone. The optional Mini-LED panel combines high resolution, touch, HDR 600, and 90Hz, but its glossy reflections and the laptop’s weight and review-specific battery results are meaningful trade-offs. Buy only after confirming that your chosen DB06250 configuration includes the panel, memory, processor, storage, and accessories you expect—and that its live price suits your budget.
