Deezer has announced an optional filter that will hide fully AI-generated tracks, albums and associated artists from search results. The company says the switch is planned for global rollout before the end of 2026, but that is a rollout promise rather than proof that every account, country, app or device already has it. Deezer also describes a separate system that keeps detected AI-generated music out of algorithmic and editorial recommendations.
The distinction matters: the announced switch is not a universal ban on every song made with AI, and it is not documented as a control for every playlist, library view or listening surface. It targets music Deezer classifies as created entirely through generative AI, while limited AI assistance in a human-led production is treated differently.
What is Deezer’s AI-music filter?
It is a user-controlled search filter for fully AI-generated music. When enabled, Deezer says search results will omit qualifying tracks and albums, along with artists associated with that content. Turning the setting off is expected to restore those items to search.
Deezer announced the feature on October 13, 2026, as part of a broader effort to label synthetic content and give listeners more control. The announcement does not provide a final launch date, a universal menu path or a list of supported app versions, so any instructions that assume a particular button location would be premature.

The filter should be understood as one layer in Deezer’s handling of synthetic music, not as a claim that all AI involvement can be detected or removed from the service.
When will the setting be available?
Deezer says the toggle will roll out globally before the end of 2026. “Global” describes the intended reach, not simultaneous availability: the company has not established a country-by-country schedule, subscription-tier rule, device matrix or exact interface version.
Until the control appears in your current Deezer app or web interface, there is no confirmed step-by-step path to activate it. The practical test is whether your account shows an AI-content preference in its live settings or search controls. If it is absent, updating the app, signing out and back in, or reinstalling cannot guarantee access because availability may still be staged on Deezer’s side.
Do not confuse an announcement with an already-active account feature. Deezer’s own Community guidance and newsroom posts should be checked for a launch notice after the end-of-2026 window, especially if the control is missing on one platform but visible on another.
What exactly does the filter block?
Deezer’s announced scope is narrow and specific: fully AI-generated tracks and albums, plus artists associated with that content, are to be removed from search results while the preference is on.
Tracks created entirely by generative AI
A track that Deezer classifies as wholly generated by AI should no longer be returned when you search for its title, artist or other matching terms with the filter enabled. The announcement does not promise that every borderline or newly uploaded track will be identified immediately.

Albums containing qualifying material
Albums identified as fully AI-generated are included in the search exclusion. Deezer does not say that an album with one AI-assisted song, or a conventional album that merely contains production software based on machine learning, will be hidden.

Artists associated with AI-generated releases
Search results may also omit artist pages or artist entries that Deezer associates with the fully generated material. The wording does not establish that every collaboration, alias or human artist who has released one flagged track will disappear; the exact association rules have not been published.

Does it remove AI-assisted songs?
Not according to Deezer’s stated policy. Deezer distinguishes music created entirely through generative AI from a human-led work that uses AI for a limited element, such as an instrument sound, editing task or other production aid.
That means a song can involve machine-learning tools and still remain searchable if Deezer considers the overall creative work human-made. The announcement does not publish a complete technical definition of “limited” assistance, so unusual cases may be classified differently from what a listener expects.
The setting also cannot tell you how much AI was used in a song unless Deezer has classified and labeled that release. A missing search result indicates Deezer’s current classification and filter behavior, not a universal judgment about the artist’s creative process.

The search toggle and Deezer’s recommendation controls are separate measures. Deezer says detected AI-generated tracks have already been excluded from algorithmic and editorial recommendations, including recommendation-powered experiences such as Flow and track mixes, according to its May 2026 Community guidance.

Therefore, enabling the search preference should not be described as the mechanism that cleans Flow. Recommendation systems may already omit detected material even if you never touch the new switch, while the switch is intended to govern what appears when you actively search.
Deezer has not promised a universal block across every playlist, saved item, history view, radio surface or direct URL. A track found before filtering, saved in a library, or opened from an external link could behave differently from a fresh search result until Deezer documents those cases.
How does Deezer identify fully AI-generated music?
Deezer uses automated detection and tagging systems, but classification is not infallible. In a July 2026 newsroom article, Deezer reported 99.8% detection accuracy for its system; that is a company-reported figure, not an independently replicated benchmark.
The scale of the task is substantial. Deezer said that between January 2025 and August 2026 it detected and excluded more than 42 million tracks from algorithmic and editorial recommendations, and had tagged more than 14 million albums. In the same July article, it reported receiving nearly 90,000 fully AI-generated tracks per day, with such deliveries exceeding 50% of all daily deliveries at the peak in June 2026.

Large totals show why Deezer is adding controls, but they do not prove perfect coverage. False positives, false negatives, delayed tagging and disputes over mixed human-and-AI production remain possible. If a result seems wrongly hidden or visible, the classification is the part that needs review; the filter itself is only applying Deezer’s current label.
How do I turn on the filter when it reaches my account?
Use the control only after it is visible in your current Deezer interface; Deezer has not published a final universal navigation path. The labels may differ between mobile, desktop and web versions during rollout.

- Update Deezer from your device’s official app store, then open the account or settings area.
- Look for an AI-generated-music, content-preferences or search-filter option. Do not assume a similarly named privacy or explicit-content switch is the same feature.
- Read the description before enabling it. The relevant wording should refer to hiding fully AI-generated tracks, albums or associated artists from search.
- Enable the switch and run a search for a release you know is available on Deezer. Compare the result with the setting disabled to confirm what your account is filtering.
- If the option is missing, record your app version, operating system, country and account type before contacting Deezer support. Those details help distinguish a rollout delay from a technical fault.
Because Deezer has not confirmed whether the preference synchronizes across devices, verify it on each interface you use rather than assuming one change covers every session.

Deezer frames the feature as a transparency and control measure for artists, songwriters and listeners. CEO Alexis Lanternier said in the October 13, 2026 announcement: “The explosion of AI-generated content continues to impact the whole music ecosystem, and we believe in shaping a future based on transparency and choice, with respect for artists, song writers and music fans.”
Listener demand is part of the rationale, but the available figure has a defined scope. Deezer reported that 45% of music-streaming users said they would like to filter out fully AI-generated music in a Deezer/Ipsos survey commissioned in November 2025. That is a commissioned survey result, not a global census or an independently replicated estimate.
Deezer has also discussed licensing its detection technology to the wider music industry and using it in fraud-prevention work. Those business plans do not change what the consumer toggle does: the announced listener control is a search preference for Deezer’s own service.
What should you expect in real-world searches?
Expect the filter to be useful when you want search results to favor releases Deezer has not classified as fully synthetic, but not to function as a guarantee about authorship.

- A newly uploaded AI track may appear temporarily. Detection and tagging can lag behind delivery, so the absence of a result is not proof that no such music exists.
- A human recording using AI tools may remain visible. Deezer says limited assistance in a broader human creative process is treated differently from fully generated music.
- An artist page may be affected unevenly. The announced wording covers artists associated with qualifying content, but it does not explain how mixed catalogs or collaborations are handled.
- Recommendations and search can disagree. A detected track may be absent from Flow or editorial recommendations yet still be reachable through an existing saved item or direct link, because those surfaces are governed separately.
- Turning the switch off restores access in search. The feature is optional; it is not described as deleting releases, blocking artists from Deezer or changing what other listeners see.
How can you check whether the filter is working?
Test behavior rather than relying on the presence of a label alone. Search for a known release before enabling the option, enable it, repeat the same query, and then disable it again. Record whether the track, album and artist results change, and note the app or web version used.

If results do not change, first check that the search is being performed in the same account and interface. A rollout may be account-specific, and Deezer has not established whether every surface uses the same index. If a release still appears, that may mean it is not classified as fully AI-generated, the index has not updated, or the result came from a surface outside the announced search scope.
For a suspected misclassification, save the release title, artist, album identifier and date observed before contacting Deezer. Those details are more useful than describing the result generally, particularly while detection rules and interface behavior are still evolving.
What the announcement does not promise
- It does not promise removal of every song that uses any AI tool.
- It does not establish a single menu path or launch date within the before-year-end-2026 window.
- It does not state that the toggle applies to all countries, devices, subscription plans or app versions at once.
- It does not guarantee perfect detection, despite Deezer’s reported 99.8% accuracy figure.
- It does not document a universal block for libraries, playlists, history, direct links or every recommendation surface.

Can I hide AI-generated music on Deezer before the new switch appears?

Deezer has not said that the preference removes saved files, playlists or listening history. Its announcement describes search-result filtering, so treat existing library entries as a separate behavior until Deezer publishes specific migration rules.
What should I do if a song seems wrongly classified as AI-generated?
Capture the exact track, album and artist details, plus the date and interface where you saw the result. Send that information through Deezer’s support process and explain whether the item disappeared only from search or also from a recommendation surface.
Does disabling the filter let me find the same AI releases again?
Deezer says users can switch the setting off to regain access to filtered content in search. That restoration applies to the search behavior described in the announcement and should not be interpreted as a change to recommendation eligibility.
