Yes—the 2026 Blood Moon Festival repeats Cult of the Lamb’s established Halloween reward set, but that does not make it pointless for returning players. Massive Monster’s October 19, 2026 announcement schedules the event for October 24 through November 10, 2026. After you unlock the three follower forms and four decorations, every additional ghost catch awards 3 Divine Inspiration points. The cosmetics may be familiar, yet the repeatable currency payout gives completed collections a practical reason to return.
Are this year’s Halloween awards the same as before?
They appear to be the familiar Blood Moon Festival rewards rather than a newly documented 2026 redesign. The official announcement presents the established collection as the available unlocks and does not claim that these cosmetics were introduced this year.

That distinction matters for veteran saves. A player who missed an earlier festival can still collect the full cosmetic set, while someone who already owns everything can convert further ghost catches into Divine Inspiration instead of receiving nothing.

How do I play the 2026 Blood Moon Festival?
The event is date-sensitive and requires a short ritual before the ghosts appear. Follow the sequence below during the announced window.
Popular on Amazon
- Start your own cult in a land of false prophets
- Venture out into diverse and mysterious regions to build a loyal community of woodland Followers
- Repay your debt by building a loyal following
- Spread your Word to become the one true cult!
- Play between October 24 and November 10, 2026. The festival dates come from Massive Monster’s October 2026 announcement.
- Check your device’s system date and time. The announcement specifically tells players to set these correctly, so an inaccurate clock can prevent the event from appearing as expected.
- Perform the Blood Moon Ritual in your cult.
- Catch the ghosts around your base. They remain available for three days after the ritual, according to the announcement.
- Continue catching ghosts until the collection is complete. Unlock the three forms and four decorations, then keep catching ghosts if you want Divine Inspiration.
What happens after every cosmetic is unlocked?
Once all listed items are unlocked, each additional ghost catch awards 3 Divine Inspiration points. This is the event’s fallback reward and the clearest reason the returning festival still has value for an established save.
The payout is not described as a new follower form or decoration. It is a repeatable currency reward that can help fund Divine Inspiration unlocks after the Halloween collection is finished.

- SPREAD YOUR WORD - Train your flock and embark on a quest to explore and discover the secrets
Why do repeated rewards matter in a game that keeps expanding?
Cult of the Lamb’s catalog has continued to grow. Woolhaven launched on January 22, 2026, and its notes list 52 new follower forms, 68 decorations and 17 buildings. Against that larger collection, a recurring event gives players another limited-time layer to complete without requiring a brand-new cosmetic lineup every year.

The Blood Moon Festival also uses a different progression rhythm from a permanent expansion: access depends on a calendar window, the ritual starts a three-day ghost period, and completion converts later activity into a useful currency. That combination rewards both new collectors and long-term players.

Did they remove any old rewards?
The 2026 announcement lists the three follower forms and four decorations above and does not report the removal of an older Blood Moon item. It also does not describe a replacement reward set, so the safest reading is that the established collection returns unchanged.
Because the announcement is the authority for this year’s event, players should treat its listed items and dates as the confirmed scope rather than assuming that every historical event detail has changed or expanded.

What should new and returning players prioritize?
If you have never completed the festival
- Start the ritual early enough to use the full three-day ghost period.
- Keep catching ghosts until all seven listed cosmetics are unlocked.
- Record which forms and decorations you already own before spending time on extra catches.
If you completed an earlier festival
- Verify that the event is active during the October 24–November 10 window.
- Perform the ritual and use the three-day period to collect ghosts.
- Expect 3 Divine Inspiration points for each catch after the full item set is unlocked.
What is confirmed—and what is not?
Confirmed details are the 2026 dates, the system-time requirement, the ritual, the three-day ghost availability, the seven listed cosmetics and the 3-point Divine Inspiration fallback. The announcement does not establish that the cosmetics are newly created for 2026, nor does it promise additional rewards beyond those items and the currency payout.

That limited scope is still meaningful: the festival gives first-time collectors a complete themed set and gives returning collectors a repeatable reason to participate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I start the Blood Moon Festival outside October 24–November 10, 2026?
The announcement defines that date range as the 2026 festival window. It does not confirm an alternate activation method or an extension, so activity outside those dates is not established as supported.
How long do the ghosts stay after I perform the ritual?
Massive Monster says the ghosts linger around your base for three days after the Blood Moon Ritual. Plan your play sessions within that period rather than assuming they remain indefinitely.
Do the seven Blood Moon cosmetics carry over to another save?
The announcement identifies the rewards but does not state whether unlocks are shared across saves, profiles or platforms. Treat ownership as save-specific unless the game’s own interface says otherwise.

Is the 3-point Divine Inspiration reward given for every ghost catch?
It applies after all listed event items have been unlocked. Before completion, catches are part of the cosmetic-unlock progression instead.
