Square Enix’s official Final Fantasy VII social accounts have shown Cloud riding a pink Chocobo in Final Fantasy VII Revelation. The approximately 45-second clip depicts the bird jumping across Midgar’s outskirts, performing an air dash, gliding over a fissure and descending into a deep mountainous or cavernous area beneath the city. It is a traversal showcase, not an explanation of how to unlock the mount. Square Enix has not yet confirmed the Chocobo’s acquisition method, the purpose of its pink color or the function of the blue ring visible beneath it.
What does the pink Chocobo clip show?
The footage opens near scaffolding and Shinra banners on the edge of Midgar. Cloud rides the pink Chocobo across open ground, then sends it over a fissure and into a vertical network of terrain below the city. An exploration HUD and distance markers remain visible, making the sequence look like normal traversal rather than a pre-rendered cinematic.
The clip was posted on October 26, 2026. Output Lag reports a runtime of about 45 seconds, while Siliconera describes the visible movement as a jump, an air dash and a glide. The bird also appears to collect Moogle plush items placed along the route, although the footage does not explain whether those objects are currency, collectibles or quest items.

Square Enix’s official Final Fantasy VII account summarized the feature this way: “Explore the Midgar region in an entirely new way in Final Fantasy VII Revelation, kweh!” The clip is the first example in the cited coverage of Midgar being crossed as open space on a mount, with the vertical drop serving as its most striking visual idea.
Can Cloud fly or glide on the Chocobo?
The shown Chocobo can definitely jump, air dash and glide for at least the duration of the sequence. The footage also shows Cloud descending through a long vertical opening into terrain that appears mountainous or cavernous. It does not establish that the bird provides unrestricted flight across the entire game world.

What the blue ring might mean
A blue ring appears beneath the Chocobo and visibly fills and drains as it moves. Viewers have interpreted it as a flight-duration or stamina gauge, but Square Enix has not defined it publicly. It could govern gliding, air dashes, another traversal action or a different system entirely, so it should not be treated as a confirmed flight meter.
How is the English clip different from the Japanese version?
The English social post is cropped, while the Japanese account’s version preserves a full 16:9 perspective. That difference affects how much surrounding terrain viewers can see, but neither version supplies an unlock explanation or identifies the underground location.

How do you get the flying pink Chocobo?
No acquisition method has been announced. The footage begins with Cloud already using the mount and does not show breeding, a side quest, a Gold Saucer reward or any other route to obtain it.
The pink color is also unexplained. Coverage has compared it with the original PlayStation game’s associations between black and gold Chocobos and special traversal abilities, while noting that pink Chocobos appeared at the Gold Saucer. Those similarities are context, not confirmation that the same color rules apply in Revelation.

Is the area beneath Midgar Deepground?
Deepground is only a fan theory at this point. The clip confirms access to deep terrain beneath or beyond Midgar’s outskirts, but it does not name the location, connect it to the Deepground storyline or reveal which characters and factions are involved.
The size of the mountainous area is likewise unknown. The visible descent could lead to a large explorable region, a smaller passage used for a quest, or one segment of a larger map. The footage also does not establish whether Revelation will include several Chocobo types with different movement abilities.

TDGN identifies Revelation as the third part of the remake project. The same report says Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are available on Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X and PC, giving newcomers several announced platform options for catching up before the new game.

- The pink Chocobo’s unlock or recruitment method.
- The gameplay meaning of its pink coloration.
