Can I download a Melee ISO if I own the disc?
Owning a physical disc does not make a downloaded copy from an unauthorized source a reliably lawful substitute. Assess the mod’s distribution, not just its name. Ask whether the project distributes a patch that requires the original game, or instead supplies a complete game image; whether it has a clear, established source; and whether the project’s instructions ask you to use your own game.
