You cannot enter Menaphos in Old School RuneScape (OSRS): the city gates are closed. The nearby playable destination tied to Menaphos story content is the Necropolis, reached through the quest Beneath Cursed Sands. Its route gets you to the Necropolis, not into Menaphos.
Can you enter Menaphos in OSRS?
No. Menaphos is inaccessible to players in OSRS, and crossing the bridge does not let you pass through the city gates. Jagex’s Tombs of Amascut: Raid Rewards update states: “Note: Menaphos will not be opening its gates just yet.” The OSRS Wiki also identifies the city as closed in its Menaphos entry.

How to reach the nearby Necropolis
The Necropolis, southeast of Sophanem, is the practical destination for the related OSRS story content. To get there, start Beneath Cursed Sands and follow its quest route.

- Meet the quest’s requirements: complete Contact! and reach the required skill levels listed below.
- Go to Sophanem and speak with Jamila to start Beneath Cursed Sands.
- Follow the quest instructions to meet Maisa at the campsite east of Sophanem. The quest takes you to the Necropolis.
- Once there, if you have a Pharaoh’s sceptre, commune with the obelisk near the Necropolis mine to enable the sceptre’s Jaltevas teleport for return trips.
The Jaltevas teleport takes you to the Necropolis, not Menaphos. Fairy ring AKP and a teleport to Nardah are also listed as optional regional travel aids in the Beneath Cursed Sands quest guide.

Quest and skill requirements
You must complete Contact!, which requires Prince Ali Rescue and Icthlarin’s Little Helper; the latter requires Gertrude’s Cat. You also need these skill levels to start:

These three skill requirements are unboostable. The quest guide recommends preparing for desert heat and poison, and bringing food and combat gear.
Quest items
The quest guide lists coal, an iron bar, a tinderbox, a spade, and cooked or raw meat as required items. It notes that some can be obtained during the quest. These are quest needs, not keys for Menaphos.

Choosing a route for repeat trips
There is no route into Menaphos to compare. For the Necropolis, proceed through the quest from Sophanem the first time. If you have a Pharaoh’s sceptre, attune it at the obelisk near the Necropolis mine after arrival; it then offers a convenient return teleport to Jaltevas. Neither that teleport nor the optional regional travel aids provide access to Menaphos.
