If you bought PlayStation Plus through PlayStation Store, check your region’s refund policy and act quickly: PlayStation’s UK cancellation policy allows a refund request within 14 days of the initial transaction, even if you have used the subscription. The refund may be reduced to account for service already used. Rules differ by country, so the UK and Ireland details below should not be treated as a worldwide guarantee.

Check your region and purchase details first

Refund eligibility depends on the country or region tied to your account and where the subscription was purchased. PlayStation’s official pages reviewed here cover the UK, Ireland, and Canada; local law may provide additional rights. Find the date you first signed up or were charged.
Check whether the payment was your first subscription payment or a recurring renewal.
Include any free-trial time when calculating the relevant period.

What the UK and Ireland policies say

PlayStation’s UK cancellation policy says you can cancel a subscription purchase and request a refund within 14 days of the initial transaction, even after starting to use it. The 14-day period includes time spent on a free trial. PlayStation may deduct an amount reflecting the service already used.

PlayStation’s Ireland support guide also describes a 14-day period, but its subscription checklist applies to the first payment, not a recurring fee. Its example says that a seven-day free trial leaves seven days after the subscription is charged. These are regional policy descriptions, not evidence that every country follows the same terms.

How to request the refund

Open PlayStation Support for your account’s region. Use the official PlayStation refund support route and follow the subscription-refund instructions shown there.
Check the transaction date and payment type. Confirm whether you are within the applicable period and whether the charge was the initial payment or a renewal.
Submit the request through the support flow. PlayStation’s Ireland guide provides an eligibility checklist and a purchase-date check. Follow the instructions presented for your region; a request does not guarantee approval.
Wait for PlayStation’s decision. If you have used the service, the refund may be reduced. The reviewed policy examples include online play, downloading monthly games, and using cloud storage; they do not specify a fixed deduction amount.

Refund request or stop future renewal?

These are different actions. A refund request asks PlayStation to return money already paid, subject to the applicable policy. Turning off renewal prevents a future subscription payment; under PlayStation’s UK policy, the subscription remains active until the next payment is due, and stopping renewal does not refund payments already made. What if the charge was recurring or the 14 days have passed?

The Ireland support guide’s stated subscription eligibility checklist is for the first payment, not a recurring fee. The UK policy’s 14-day window is measured from the initial transaction. If your charge was a renewal or the applicable period has passed, check the policy for your region and contact PlayStation Support to confirm whether any option applies. Do not assume that cancelling renewal will reverse the latest charge.
