How to edit or delete an Apple App Store response
You need an App Store Connect account with the Account Holder, Admin, or Customer Support role. You do not have to be the person who originally wrote the response to edit it.

- In App Store Connect, select your app and open Ratings and Reviews.
- Select the platform for the review, then find and open that review.
- Choose Edit Response. Change the text and save it to update the response.
- To remove the response, choose Edit Response, then Delete Response.
Apple also documents response deletion through the App Store Connect API. Each review can have at most one response, and only one response per review appears on the product page. An Apple response may take up to 24 hours to appear; while it is being processed, App Store Connect shows it as pending. Edited responses are marked as edited.
How to edit a Google Play reply
Your account needs the Reply to reviews permission. Google’s official instructions cover editing a reply, but the official help and API references reviewed here do not describe a delete control.

In Play Console
- Open Ratings and reviews > Reviews and locate the review.
- Edit the text in the Your reply field.
- Publish the updated reply.
In the Play Console app
- Select the review and tap Reply.
- Edit the reply text, then send it.
Google says the reviewer receives a push notification and an email after a reply. For deletion, the most precise answer is that Google’s current official documentation reviewed here does not explain how to delete a developer reply. In an April 29, 2024 community thread, Google Play Product Expert Jomar T. wrote, “You won’t be able to delete reviews and replies.” The community page identifies the expert as not a Google employee, so treat that answer as non-official corroboration rather than a formal Google guarantee.

If you are changing a reply because it is unclear or no longer accurate, keep the replacement focused on resolving the user’s concern. Apple recommends concise, respectful, personalized responses and says to avoid personal information, marketing language, and spam. For download or billing problems, Apple directs developers to Apple Support. If a review is offensive or violates the terms, Apple advises reporting a concern instead of replying.

Google advises developers to make replies clear, relevant, valuable, and truthful, and not to use them to solicit or promote. It warns that failure to follow its rules may result in suspension of the app or developer account. Google describes public developer responses as a way to resolve app problems and build relationships with users in Play Console Help.
