No documented option in Cash App’s reviewed U.S. materials lets you delete or hide one transaction from your activity history. Closing your account or submitting a privacy deletion request is not a guarantee that Cash App will erase transaction records or that the other person will lose information already shared with them.
Can you remove one transaction from Cash App activity?
Cash App’s U.S. Terms of Service say, “Transaction information will be reflected in your transaction history in Cash App.” The reviewed Terms and Privacy Notice do not document a control for deleting or hiding an individual transaction. That describes the available documented controls; it is not an explicit statement that deletion is impossible in every circumstance.
The Terms describe receipts in Activity and account statements available after logging in. They also describe access to 12 months of transaction history in the app and 24 months at cash.app/account. These are ways to review records, not a documented way to remove an entry.
Can you hide a payment from the other person?
The Privacy Notice says certain information, including prior transaction history, may be available to other Cash App customers to help identify the right person. The reviewed materials do not document a control that hides a past payment from its counterparty or removes a receipt they already have. Changing what is visible in your own account, if an option is available in a particular context, would not establish that the other person’s records have changed.

What can you do instead?
For an unauthorized or incorrect payment
Contact Cash App support and use the dispute process described in the Terms. Deleting or hiding history is not a remedy for a payment you did not authorize or an incorrect transaction.
To close or deactivate your account
Cash App’s Privacy Notice directs you to log in and visit Cash App support to request deactivation or closure. The Terms say closure settles pending transactions, and conditions may apply to funds remaining in the account. Closure is an account-level action, not a documented method for removing transaction entries.
To make a privacy deletion request
Cash App provides a route for privacy requests, including deletion requests. Whether particular information can be deleted depends on applicable requirements and Cash App’s stated retention purposes; a request does not guarantee that transaction records will be erased.

Why closing the account does not guarantee deletion
Cash App’s Privacy Notice, effective June 8, 2026, says it may keep information about you and transactions or services after account closure. Its stated reasons include legal obligations, fraud prevention, collecting fees, resolving disputes, investigations, and addressing service problems. As a result, closing an account should not be treated as a promise that Cash App will erase its transaction records or copies held by another party.
What Cash App’s deletion-request figures mean
Cash App reports that it received 11,617 deletion requests in 2025, denied 59, and fulfilled requests in a median of 3 days. The company says these figures cover requests received and processed from January 1 through December 31, 2025. They are aggregate request statistics—not evidence that every request is granted or that a particular transaction record will be removed. Cash App separately reports 49,217 access requests, none denied, with a “nearly instantaneous” median fulfillment time for 2025; access-request figures concern access, not deletion.
