No. To publish a review of a place on Google Maps, customers must sign in to a Google Account. A review link or QR code can take them to the review form, but it does not remove that sign-in requirement.
Why a Google review requires sign-in
Google’s Maps guidance tells users to sign in to find content on the Contribute tab. Its instructions for writing reviews also describe them as public contributions, not anonymous posts. You can browse public reviews without being the person who wrote them, but publishing your own requires an account.
Google puts it plainly: “All reviews are public and anyone can find what you add.” It also says, “You’re unable to add an anonymous review.” Google Maps Help: Use the Contribute tab and Google Maps Help: Add, edit or delete reviews and ratings (Android).
Can you post under a different name?
You can choose a custom display name and picture for public contributions on Google Maps. That changes how your review appears to other people; it does not make the review anonymous or let you publish without signing in. How to leave a Google Maps review
- Sign in to Google Maps with your Google Account.
- Find the place you want to review and open its listing.
- Open the Reviews tab, select a star rating, and optionally write about your experience.
- Submit the review. It will be a public contribution associated with your account’s public display identity.
Google’s computer instructions begin by telling users to sign in to Google Maps. The exact controls can vary by device; see Google Maps Help: Add, edit, or delete reviews and ratings (Computer).
For businesses: make the review form easier to reach
A business can create a Google review link or QR code from its Business Profile, then share the link through email, WhatsApp, or Facebook, or include it on a receipt, in a thank-you email, or at the end of a chat. For an in-person location, Google recommends printing and displaying the QR code. A tabletop QR code display or review QR code sign can make a business’s own generated code visible at the counter; the sign itself does not create a Google link or bypass sign-in.

Google says review QR codes can currently be generated using a computer browser, rather than a mobile device. See Google Business Profile Help: Create a Google link or QR code to request reviews.
Ask for genuine reviews, not incentivized ones
Businesses may ask customers to leave a review, but Google requires contributions to reflect a genuine experience. It prohibits offering free or discounted goods or services in exchange for reviews. A review request should not be conditional on receiving a benefit.
