Bluehost and Elementor are not interchangeable products. Bluehost primarily provides WordPress hosting; Elementor provides a visual WordPress website builder, while its hosting is a separate offer. For many sites, the practical choice is not “Bluehost or Elementor,” but which host to pair with which Elementor plan. Choose Bluehost when you need hosting capacity, WordPress management and support. Choose Elementor when visual editing, theme control, dynamic content or advanced forms are the deciding requirements. A single site can use both.
What is the difference between Bluehost and Elementor?
Bluehost supplies the server environment where a WordPress site runs. Elementor supplies a drag-and-drop editor and related design tools that operate inside WordPress. Elementor’s pricing information explicitly says, “Elementor One does not include hosting”; Elementor Host is a separate product, and Elementor One can run on compatible third-party WordPress hosting.
That distinction affects every comparison. Bluehost’s plan limits, storage, backups, security and support answer hosting questions. Elementor’s plan limits and features answer design and content-production questions. A fair decision therefore compares the job you need done, rather than treating two different product categories as direct substitutes.
Which should you choose for a typical WordPress site?
For one WordPress site, use Bluehost if you first need dependable hosting and are comfortable choosing a theme or adding a builder later. Add Elementor when its visual workflow or premium functions solve a specific design requirement. If you already have hosting, you do not need Bluehost merely to use Elementor; install Elementor on compatible WordPress hosting instead.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Choose Bluehost hosting first when storage, number of sites, managed WordPress features, backups, security tools or phone support matter most.
- Choose Elementor as your builder when you need visual page editing, Theme Builder, dynamic content or Form Builder features shown on Elementor’s current plan comparison.
- Use both when you want Bluehost to host WordPress and Elementor to control page and theme design.
- Consider a commerce-focused hosting tier when the site will sell online, then verify that the Elementor features you need are included in the selected builder plan.
How do Bluehost’s current WordPress plans compare?
Bluehost’s official plan page checked on October 25, 2026 lists three tiers. The monthly figures below are equivalent rates for paying a 36-month term, not month-to-month prices. Renewal rates are listed separately by Bluehost, and taxes, add-ons and checkout-specific terms can change the amount charged.
| Plan | 36-month monthly equivalent | Renewal rate | Websites | NVMe storage | Vendor-stated visits/month | Support |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $3.99/month equivalent for 36 months | $9.99/month | 10 | 10 GB | 40,000 | 24/7 chat; phone support not included |
| Business | $6.99/month equivalent for 36 months | $13.99/month | 50 | 50 GB | 200,000 | 24/7 chat and phone |
| eCommerce Essentials | $14.99/month equivalent for 36 months | $21.99/month | 100 | 100 GB | 400,000 | 24/7 chat and phone |
The 36-month promotional commitments equal $143.64 for Starter, $251.64 for Business and $539.64 for eCommerce Essentials before taxes or extras. Those calculations only describe the listed term; they do not predict the amount due at renewal. At the listed renewal rates, 12 months would be $119.88 for Starter, $167.88 for Business and $263.88 for eCommerce Essentials, before taxes and optional services. The visit figures are Bluehost’s suitability guidance, not independently measured traffic limits or performance guarantees.
What is included across the listed Bluehost plans?
Bluehost’s plan page lists a first-year domain, SSL, a site-migration tool, CDN, managed WordPress updates, weekly backups, malware scanning, a web application firewall, DDoS protection, caching, SSH/WP-CLI and staging. Confirm the exact inclusion for your chosen tier at checkout. A feature appearing on the general plan page should not be assumed to have identical limits or terms on every tier.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
How should you calculate the real cost?
Start with the amount charged today, not the advertised monthly equivalent. A 36-month term means the introductory monthly figure is multiplied by 36 at signup. Add any domain, premium email, paid themes, premium plugins, migration help or other optional items that appear in checkout. Then record the renewal price and the renewal interval in your calendar.
For a site using both products, create two separate lines in the budget: Bluehost hosting and the Elementor subscription. Elementor’s rendered pricing page can change, and the plan you need depends on site count and features such as Theme Builder, dynamic content or Form Builder. Do not assume an Elementor subscription is included with Bluehost, or that purchasing Elementor Host is the same as buying Elementor One on third-party hosting. Compare the first term, every recurring renewal, taxes and any add-ons over the period you expect to keep the site.
What does Elementor add to a Bluehost-hosted site?
Elementor replaces or supplements the standard WordPress editing workflow with visual controls. Its current pricing page describes plan-dependent features including Theme Builder, dynamic content and Form Builder. Because Elementor changes which capabilities and site counts belong to each plan, check the live comparison immediately before purchase rather than relying on an old feature list.
Theme Builder
Theme Builder is relevant when you want to design site-wide elements such as headers, footers, archive templates or single-post layouts rather than styling individual pages only. Verify that the plan you select includes the templates you intend to control. Also decide whether an existing theme already controls those areas; allowing two systems to compete for the same template can create confusing design results.

Dynamic content
Dynamic-content tools matter for sites that pull changing fields into reusable layouts, such as directories, listings or structured editorial content. Establish which data sources and widgets your project needs, then confirm they are supported by the current plan. A visual editor alone does not create the underlying WordPress data; your content model, plugins and database still need to be configured.
Form Builder
Form Builder can reduce the need for a separate form plugin for common lead or contact workflows. Before committing, check required integrations, submission handling and any plan restrictions on forms. Send test submissions from desktop and mobile, verify the notification address, and confirm that you have a retention and spam-handling process.
Do you need Bluehost if you use Elementor?
No. Elementor One is a builder subscription, not hosting. You need a compatible WordPress host, but that host can be Bluehost or another provider. Buying both is sensible only when you want Bluehost’s hosting services and Elementor’s design features together.
Compatibility is the practical checkpoint: confirm the WordPress version, PHP resources, SSL setup, staging workflow and plugin policy offered by the host. Also decide who will manage updates, backups and security. Elementor does not replace those hosting responsibilities when installed on third-party hosting.
Can you use Elementor with Bluehost?
Yes, the products are designed to be paired through WordPress. A normal workflow is to provision a Bluehost WordPress site, connect its domain, install WordPress and then install the Elementor plugin or eligible paid plan. Keep the host and builder subscriptions distinct so you know which company handles a problem.
- Select hosting: choose Starter, Business or eCommerce Essentials after comparing the number of sites, storage, support and renewal cost you actually need.
- Complete the WordPress setup: connect your domain, enable SSL and confirm that the site loads over HTTPS.
- Install Elementor: from the WordPress dashboard, open Plugins → Add New, search for Elementor, install and activate it. If you purchased a paid Elementor plan, connect the license according to Elementor’s current account instructions.
- Choose a compatible theme: activate a lightweight theme and decide whether the theme or Elementor will control headers, footers and templates.
- Build a staging copy: use Bluehost’s staging feature when available on your tier, test layouts and forms there, then publish after checking mobile views and links.
- Set maintenance ownership: document who monitors updates, backups, malware alerts, form delivery and renewal dates. Hosting support and builder support cover different layers.
Compatibility checks before you build
- Confirm the domain points to the correct Bluehost account and that both the front end and WordPress dashboard use HTTPS.
- Check that the selected hosting tier has enough listed storage for media, backups and every additional site you plan to add.
- List the plugins required for forms, commerce, analytics and dynamic fields, then check that they are permitted and compatible with your WordPress setup.
- Decide where headers, footers, archives and post templates will be edited. Use one clear owner for each template area.
- Test staging, restore procedures and email delivery before a redesign becomes the live site.
How does migration work if you already use Elementor?
You can move an Elementor-built WordPress site to Bluehost without rebuilding every page, provided the WordPress database, uploads and relevant configuration are migrated correctly. Use a complete backup and a temporary or staging URL first. Review global fonts and colors, image paths, menus, forms, dynamic fields, redirects and any license connection. Keep the old site online while testing, lower DNS time-to-live if appropriate, and change DNS only after the new copy is ready. The Bluehost migration tool may help, but confirm exactly what it transfers and whether it includes custom files, mailboxes and third-party integrations.
After DNS changes, clear caching and CDN layers, test logged-out and logged-in views, submit every important form and check checkout if the site sells products. Keep an export or backup from the old host until the new site has operated correctly through a normal update cycle.

Which option is better for an online store?
Bluehost lists WooCommerce auto-install and payment-processing features with eCommerce Essentials. That makes the tier relevant when hosting and initial commerce setup are the primary needs. Elementor may still be useful for storefront, product or landing-page presentation, but confirm that the design and dynamic-commerce features required for your store belong to the Elementor plan you select.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteSeparate the decision into three checks: whether the host supports the store’s WordPress and WooCommerce stack, whether the builder can style the templates you need, and whether the combined recurring cost remains acceptable after renewals. A commerce label on a hosting plan does not automatically include every premium builder capability. Test product, cart, checkout, account and order-confirmation pages on staging, and verify that payment processing remains configured after updates.
How much does Bluehost cost after renewal?
According to Bluehost’s listed 2026 terms, Starter renews at $9.99 per month, Business at $13.99 per month and eCommerce Essentials at $21.99 per month. The promotional figures apply to a 36-month term, so comparing only $3.99, $6.99 or $14.99 can materially understate the long-term budget.
Before ordering, write down the full initial charge, renewal interval, domain renewal treatment, taxes and any paid add-ons. Then price Elementor separately: its rendered pricing page can change, and the cost depends on the plan and site limits you need. Treat any combined total as a sum of two subscriptions unless you deliberately choose a hosting product that bundles a builder.
What support should you expect?
Bluehost lists 24/7 chat on Starter, Business and eCommerce Essentials. Phone support is not included on Starter and is listed on Business and eCommerce Essentials. That difference can matter for a small business owner who needs a live escalation path, but it does not mean every design issue will be solved by the host.
Use hosting support for account, domain, server, SSL, WordPress installation and listed hosting features. Use Elementor’s support and documentation for builder licensing, widgets, templates and editor behavior. Plugin conflicts, custom code and third-party integrations can fall between those boundaries, so keep a record of recent changes and reproduce problems on staging before opening a ticket.
What are the main trade-offs?
| Decision factor | Bluehost hosting | Elementor builder |
|---|---|---|
| Primary job | Runs WordPress and supplies hosting services | Visual editing and site-design controls |
| Capacity | Published site, storage and visit guidance varies by tier | Site limits and capabilities vary by builder plan |
| Support scope | Chat on listed tiers; phone on Business and eCommerce Essentials | Support and feature access depend on the Elementor subscription |
| Security and operations | Bluehost lists SSL, backups, malware scanning, firewall, DDoS protection and caching; verify tier coverage | Does not substitute for host-level backups, server security or WordPress operations on third-party hosting |
| Design control | WordPress hosting can run many themes and plugins | Provides the visual tools; advanced functions may require a higher plan |
| Scaling path | Higher listed tiers add websites, storage, visit guidance and phone support | Higher builder tiers may be needed for additional sites or advanced features |
What mistakes should you avoid?
- Comparing a host to a plugin as if they were alternatives: decide hosting and design requirements separately.
- Using the introductory price as the lifetime price: record the 36-month commitment and the stated renewal rate.
- Assuming every Elementor feature is included: Theme Builder, dynamic content and Form Builder availability varies by plan.
- Treating visit guidance as a guarantee: Bluehost’s 40,000, 200,000 and 400,000 figures are vendor-stated suitability numbers.
- Ignoring support boundaries: a host can troubleshoot server or WordPress issues, while builder-specific layout problems may require Elementor support.
- Skipping staging and backups: test plugin and template changes away from the live store or publication site, and verify that backups can actually be restored.
- Choosing by storage alone: storage does not tell you how many concurrent requests a site can handle or how quickly a page will load.
- Forgetting renewal dates: set reminders for both hosting and Elementor so an expired subscription does not disable a feature you rely on.
Which setup fits each common scenario?
One brochure or portfolio site
Starter may provide enough listed capacity if 10 GB and the vendor’s 40,000-visit suitability fit your expectations. Add Elementor only if its visual workflow saves time or delivers design control unavailable in your preferred theme. A simpler theme and fewer plugins can reduce maintenance for a site that changes only occasionally.

eCommerce Essentials lists 100 websites, 100 GB and 400,000 monthly visits, plus commerce-oriented setup features. Validate real resource needs, WooCommerce compatibility and the Elementor plan required for product and checkout designs before committing. Commerce sites should also schedule maintenance windows and test payment flows after major updates.

If your current host provides compatible WordPress resources, SSL, backups and a workable staging process, moving solely to obtain Elementor is unnecessary. Buy the builder plan that supplies the required features, install it on the existing host and compare the cost and operational effort of staying put with any proposed migration.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is the final verdict on Bluehost vs Elementor?
There is no single winner because the products solve different problems. Bluehost is the hosting decision; Elementor is the visual-builder decision. For a new WordPress site, select hosting based on capacity, operational safeguards, support and renewal cost, then add Elementor only for the design and content features your site genuinely needs. If you already have suitable hosting, Elementor can be used without moving to Bluehost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I switch from another host to Bluehost and keep my Elementor designs?
Usually, Elementor layouts are stored in WordPress, so a correctly migrated WordPress database and uploads can preserve them. Make a complete backup, test the migration on a temporary or staging URL, and check fonts, forms, dynamic fields and image URLs before changing DNS.
Will Elementor slow down a Bluehost website?
Load time depends on the page structure, media, plugins, caching, CDN, theme and server resources rather than on the brand names alone. Use a staging copy to remove unused widgets, compress images and verify cache behavior before publishing.
Can I cancel Bluehost while keeping Elementor?
Yes, they are separate subscriptions. Canceling hosting removes the environment running the WordPress site, while an Elementor subscription can remain active for use on another compatible host; export or migrate the site before the hosting account closes.

Does Elementor replace WordPress?
No. Elementor operates within WordPress and relies on WordPress hosting, its database and the surrounding theme/plugin system. WordPress remains the content-management platform even when Elementor controls much of the visual layout.
Does Elementor include hosting?
Elementor One does not include hosting. You need compatible WordPress hosting separately, such as Bluehost or another provider. Elementor Host is a separate offering, so check which product you are purchasing.
Can I use the free Elementor plugin with Bluehost?
Elementor can be installed in WordPress through the dashboard, while paid plans add plan-dependent capabilities. Check Elementor’s current comparison to confirm whether Theme Builder, dynamic content, Form Builder or the site count you need requires a paid tier.

Are Bluehost’s monthly visit numbers guarantees?
No. The 40,000, 200,000 and 400,000 figures are Bluehost’s stated suitability guidance for the listed tiers, not independently measured limits or performance guarantees. Traffic, page weight, plugins and caching affect actual behavior.
What happens if my Elementor subscription expires?
The WordPress hosting account remains separate, but features tied to the Elementor subscription may no longer be available or receive updates according to Elementor’s current terms. Check the account status and renew before editing critical templates.
Should an online store use both Bluehost and Elementor?
It can. Bluehost’s eCommerce Essentials plan lists WooCommerce auto-install and payment-processing features, while Elementor can handle visual presentation when the selected builder plan supports the required templates. Test the complete store workflow and calculate both renewals.
