To refund a customer order in Bluehost AI Store, open the Bluehost Portal, go to Websites, select the site’s Sell Online plan, and choose Manage Store. In the AI Store dashboard, open Orders, select the order with View, and choose Refund in the upper-right corner. Check or change the amount, enter a reason such as “Customer requested,” and submit it. A green “Refund processed” message confirms that the request was sent. Bluehost says AI Store refunds are processed through Stripe and typically reach the customer’s original payment method within 5–7 business days, although the bank or payment provider controls the final posting time.
What do you need before starting an AI Store refund?
You need access to the Bluehost account that manages the store, the correct website’s Sell Online plan, and enough order information to identify the transaction. Have the customer’s requested amount and a concise internal reason ready before opening the refund form. The refund workflow is for customer orders in AI Store; it is not the same as requesting a refund for a Bluehost hosting subscription, domain, or other account charge.
Confirm the correct store
If your Portal contains several websites, identify the site that received the order. The store selector can contain more than one Sell Online plan, and Bluehost’s instructions say to use Load More when the relevant site is not immediately visible. Starting from the wrong site can make a valid order appear to be missing.
Confirm the amount and scope
Decide whether the customer is receiving the full order amount or only part of it. AI Store’s refund window lets you verify or adjust the amount before submission. The official instructions do not describe a separate partial-refund screen or an offline refund method, so use the amount control shown in the order’s Issue Refund window rather than attempting to create a second workflow.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Prepare a reason that can be understood later
The form asks for a reason. Bluehost’s official example is Customer requested. Use a short, factual description that matches your support record, such as “Customer requested” or “Damaged item reported,” instead of including payment-card details or other unnecessary personal information.
How do I refund an order in Bluehost AI Store?
Follow this path exactly: Bluehost Portal → Websites → Sell Online plan → Manage Store → Orders → View → Refund. The current Bluehost Help workflow was updated September 2, 2026, and contains ten actions.
- Sign in to the Bluehost Portal. Use the account with permission to manage the store.
- Open Websites. Select Websites from the left-hand menu.
- Find the relevant Sell Online plan. If several sites are listed, identify the one that owns the customer’s order. Select Load More if the site is not in the initial list.
- Click Manage Store. This opens the AI Store management dashboard for that website.
- Open Orders. In the dashboard, choose Orders to see the store’s order list.
- Locate the customer’s order. Use the order details available in the list to distinguish it from other transactions.
- Click View. The refund control is reached from the order’s detail page, not from the general website list.
- Click Refund. In the upper-right area of Order Details, choose Refund.
- Complete Issue Refund. Verify the displayed amount or adjust it as appropriate, then enter the reason. The official example is “Customer requested.”
- Submit and verify. Click Refund in the Issue Refund window. Look for the green “Refund processed” notification before leaving the page.
The green notification is the dashboard’s confirmation that the refund was submitted. It is not a promise that the customer’s bank has already posted the money; settlement occurs through the payment processor and the customer’s financial institution.
Where is the Refund button in Bluehost AI Store?
The Refund button appears on an individual order’s Order Details page. To reach it, open the correct Sell Online plan, select Manage Store, go to Orders, click View for the transaction, and then look in the upper-right corner.
There is no documented refund button directly on the Websites list or on the general Orders landing page. If you are still browsing the order list, open the transaction with View first. If the order is not listed, check that you selected the right website and loaded additional plans when necessary.
Quick location checklist
- You are in the Bluehost Portal, not a separate hosting-policy page.
- You opened the correct website’s Sell Online plan.
- You clicked Manage Store and entered the AI Store dashboard.
- You selected Orders, then opened the specific order with View.
- You are looking at Order Details, where Refund is shown in the upper-right.
Can I issue a partial refund in Bluehost AI Store?
Yes, the documented Issue Refund window allows you to verify or adjust the refund amount before submitting. That supports changing the amount from the value initially shown, but Bluehost’s guide does not specify limits for minimum amounts, multiple refunds against one order, shipping-only refunds, tax treatment, or how each special case is displayed.

How to set the amount safely
- Open the order’s Issue Refund window from Order Details.
- Compare the displayed value with the amount you approved for the customer.
- Adjust the amount if the customer is receiving less than the full order value.
- Check the amount again before submitting, because the refund action sends the value shown in the form.
- Record why the amount differs from the original order total in your customer-service or accounting notes.
Do not assume that an adjusted amount automatically means the order is fully closed or that another refund can be issued later. The official article documents amount control, but it does not state the rules for repeated refunds or the order-status behavior after a partial refund.
What reason should I enter for the refund?
Enter a brief explanation that identifies the customer’s request or the business reason without exposing sensitive information. Bluehost’s example is Customer requested; you can use that wording when it accurately describes the case.
A useful reason is specific enough for another staff member to understand but short enough to scan in an order record. Examples include “Customer requested,” “Duplicate order,” or “Item unavailable,” provided they are true for the transaction. Avoid card numbers, passwords, or unnecessary medical, financial, or identity information. If your business has a formal return policy, make the reason agree with the policy record so the order, support conversation, and refund entry do not conflict.
Does a Bluehost AI Store refund go through Stripe?
Yes. Bluehost identifies Stripe as the AI Store payment processor. Its official guide states that when a refund is initiated, the transaction is handled through Stripe, which is the Bluehost AI Store’s payment-processing platform.
This matters because AI Store is the interface where you request the refund, while Stripe and the customer’s payment provider handle the movement of funds. A merchant should therefore treat the green dashboard message as confirmation of submission, not as evidence that the customer’s bank has completed settlement. Keep the order number, amount, reason, and confirmation message in your records so you can answer questions while the payment is moving through that chain.
How long does a Bluehost AI Store refund take?
Bluehost says funds are typically returned to the customer’s original payment method within 5–7 business days. That is an estimate, not a guaranteed arrival date: the customer’s bank or payment provider can affect when the credit appears.

What the merchant should tell the customer
- The refund was submitted from the order’s AI Store record.
- Stripe processes the transaction for AI Store.
- The money is sent back to the original payment method, rather than to a destination selected manually in the refund form.
- Posting time depends on the customer’s bank or payment provider.
Use the date shown in your own support record when discussing status. If the customer checks before the provider has posted the credit, a completed dashboard submission and a missing statement entry can both be true.
What should you do if the refund workflow does not work?
Most navigation problems come from being in the wrong website, stopping before the order detail page, or overlooking the confirmation message. Work through the branch that matches what you see rather than starting a second refund attempt immediately.
The website or Sell Online plan is missing
Return to Websites and confirm that you are signed in to the account that owns the store. If multiple sites are present, use Load More and check each relevant Sell Online plan. An order cannot appear under a different site’s AI Store dashboard.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesOrders opens, but the customer’s order is not listed
Verify the site selection first, then review the available order details carefully. The documented process does not provide a second search interface or an offline refund path, so do not assume that a missing order can be refunded from another Bluehost page. If the transaction still cannot be located, preserve the customer’s order information and seek account-specific help before submitting anything against a different order.
You cannot find Refund
Open the transaction with View and confirm that you are on Order Details. The control is documented in the upper-right of that page; it is not described as a control on the Orders list itself.
The amount is wrong
Do not submit until the value in Issue Refund matches the approved amount. The form allows the merchant to verify or adjust the amount. If the displayed value does not make sense for the order, stop and document the discrepancy rather than guessing.

You submitted but did not see the green notification
Check whether the page completed the action and whether the order view reflects the submission before trying again. A second attempt could create an unintended duplicate if the first request was accepted but the notification was missed. If there is still no clear confirmation, retain the order number and amount and obtain account-specific assistance.

Confirm that the dashboard showed “Refund processed”, then explain that the expected return is an estimate controlled in part by the bank or payment provider. Ask the customer to check the original payment method and provider statement. Avoid promising an exact posting date that Bluehost does not guarantee.
How is an AI Store order refund different from a Bluehost hosting refund?
An AI Store refund is a merchant action against a customer order in the store dashboard. It should not be confused with Bluehost’s separate hosting-account refund policy. Bluehost’s general policy says eligible Shared, VPS, and Dedicated hosting fees may qualify for a 30-day money-back guarantee, while AI products and services, monthly terms, domain fees, setup fees, and many add-ons are excluded.
The hosting policy concerns charges on the Bluehost account; the AI Store procedure concerns money collected from a store customer. Use the AI Store order path for a product-order refund, and consult the applicable account policy for a hosting-fee question. Do not promise that eligibility under one policy automatically applies to the other.

Good records make it possible to reconcile the store, answer the customer, and avoid accidental duplicate actions. After the green confirmation appears, save the order identifier, website, submitted amount, reason, date, and the person who approved the refund. Note whether it was a full or adjusted amount and retain the customer communication that authorized it.

What is AI Store in relation to the refund screen?
Bluehost describes AI Store as a centralized, WooCommerce-powered store-management dashboard. It brings together products, orders, customers, payments, shipping, sales channels, and AI insights. The refund control is therefore part of the order-management area, not a standalone payment terminal or a separate Bluehost hosting-policy tool.
Understanding that structure helps explain the navigation: the Portal selects the website and Sell Online plan, Manage Store opens the store dashboard, and Orders narrows the dashboard to the transaction that needs action. Stripe remains the documented processor behind the payment transaction.
What is the complete refund workflow at a glance?
| Stage | Where it happens | What to verify | Documented result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Choose the store | Bluehost Portal > Websites | Correct Sell Online plan; use Load More if needed | Manage Store opens the selected AI Store |
| Find the transaction | AI Store > Orders | Correct customer order | View opens Order Details |
| Prepare the refund | Order Details > Refund | Amount and reason | Issue Refund window is displayed |
| Submit | Issue Refund | Final amount and reason | Green “Refund processed” notification |
| Settlement | Stripe and the customer’s provider | Original payment method | Typically 5–7 business days, depending on the bank or provider |
This sequence separates the merchant’s action from the customer’s wait. You control the order selection, amount, reason, and submission; Stripe, the bank, and the payment provider control the subsequent posting of funds.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a customer ask for the refund to be sent to a different card?
The documented AI Store process returns funds to the customer’s original payment method. It does not describe a control for entering a replacement card or redirecting the credit, so do not promise that the destination can be changed from the Issue Refund window.
What does the green “Refund processed” message prove?
It confirms that the refund request was submitted in AI Store. It does not prove that the customer’s statement has already been updated, because Stripe and the customer’s bank or payment provider still have to post the transaction.
Can I use this procedure to refund a Bluehost hosting charge?
No. These steps apply to a customer order recorded in AI Store. Hosting, domain, setup, and other account charges are handled under Bluehost’s separate refund policy and eligibility rules.
What if the customer cannot see the credit after the provider’s normal posting period?
Check your order record for the submitted amount, reason, and confirmation, then ask the customer to verify the original payment method with the bank or payment provider. If the provider cannot locate the credit, provide the order details when requesting account-specific assistance rather than submitting another refund blindly.
