If you want a foldable phone for keeping several apps in view, compare the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and HONOR Magic V5 with Samsung’s newer Galaxy Z Fold 8. The Magic V5 has a reported three-app split-screen mode, while a Tom’s Guide reviewer ran three apps at once on the Fold 8. The Pixel’s standout documented advantage is its 8-inch inner display; the available sources do not establish that its multitasking controls match Samsung’s or HONOR’s.

Which foldables are worth comparing?

These phones address different parts of the multitasking question: visible app count, inner-screen area, and how much you value staying with Samsung’s software. The evidence supports a focused comparison, not a universal ranking for every country or user.

Phone What the available evidence establishes Useful context
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Google lists an 8-inch inner display and markets the device for multitasking and entertainment. Best to investigate if screen area and Google’s platform are your priorities; comparable app-layout details are not established here.
HONOR Magic V5 Tom’s Guide reports that Multi-Flex can show up to three apps in split screen. TechRadar lists a 7.95-inch inner display and Magic-Pen support is reported by Tom’s Guide.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Tom’s Guide reports its reviewer ran Gmail, Spotify and Gallery simultaneously without noticeable lag. This is the newer same-line generation, not a cross-brand alternative. TechRadar’s roundup noted that full reviews were still awaited.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: prioritize a large inner display

Google describes the Pixel 10 Pro Fold as its phone “for multitasking & entertainment.” Its official specifications list a 6.4-inch cover display, an 8-inch inner display, Tensor G5 and 16GB of RAM across listed configurations. Google’s US product page listed a starting price of $1,799 when retrieved; that is not a guarantee of today’s price or of availability outside the US. See Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold specifications.

The larger inner panel is a concrete reason to consider the Pixel if your work involves reading, comparing information or keeping apps open on the unfolded screen. But screen size alone does not establish how flexibly apps can be arranged. The cited Google materials do not show that the Pixel duplicates Samsung’s multitasking controls or HONOR’s reported three-app split screen.

HONOR Magic V5: look at Multi-Flex and pen support

Tom’s Guide reports that the Magic V5’s Multi-Flex mode supports up to three apps in split screen, compared with two on the preceding Magic V3. That makes it the clearest documented cross-brand option here for someone specifically seeking a three-app layout. The report establishes the feature, not that every app can use it or that the layout behaves identically to Samsung’s.

Tom’s Guide also reports Magic-Pen support. TechRadar lists a 7.95-inch 120Hz inner display, a 6.43-inch 120Hz cover screen, and a 5,820mAh battery. Those are product specifications, not proof of longer endurance: battery capacity alone cannot show which phone lasts longest in comparable use.

TechRadar gives a UK launch price of £1,699.99 for the 512GB/12GB configuration. Treat that as launch pricing for that market and configuration, not a current universal price. Software-version descriptions also differ by source and time: Tom’s Guide’s 2025 review described Android 15 with MagicOS 9, while TechRadar’s comparison table lists Android 16/MagicOS 9. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: compare the newer generation

If you are considering a Fold 7 because you want Samsung’s foldable workflow, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the relevant same-line comparison. Tom’s Guide says its reviewer used Gmail, Spotify and Gallery simultaneously without noticeable lag. That is a reviewer observation, not a standardized app-count benchmark or a guarantee for every workload.

TechRadar’s foldables roundup reports Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8, and notes its list awaited full reviews of those models. Availability, local pricing and the maturity of independent reviews should therefore be checked for your market and purchase date. How to choose for your multitasking needs

Start with the layout you actually use

  • Three apps visible at once: The Magic V5 has a reported Multi-Flex mode for up to three split-screen apps. The Fold 8 has a reviewer-reported example of three simultaneous apps, though that observation does not specify an identical layout implementation.
  • A spacious unfolded screen: Google lists the Pixel’s inner display at 8 inches. HONOR’s listed inner display is 7.95 inches. These diagonal measurements do not, by themselves, establish usable app area or aspect ratio.
  • Samsung continuity: Compare the Fold 8 directly if you want to stay in Samsung’s product line; it is the newer-generation context for Fold 7 shoppers.

Check the details that can change the buying decision

  • Local availability and price: Google’s cited starting price is US-specific, while HONOR’s cited figure is a UK launch price for a named configuration. Check current retailer, carrier and storage-tier offers where you live.
  • Software and updates: Version listings can become stale or differ by region. Confirm the software version and update support for the exact model and market.
  • Battery life: Do not treat HONOR’s 5,820mAh capacity as an endurance ranking. Look for comparable independent runtime tests if battery life is decisive.
  • Accessories: Verify the exact compatible Magic-Pen and whether it is included. For Pixel wired fast charging, Google says a 30W-or-higher USB-C PPS charger is sold separately.
  • Repair and support: Check authorized service, warranty terms, replacement-part access and repair turnaround locally. The cited comparisons do not settle those factors.

What is not established by this comparison

The available evidence does not support declaring one phone the best multitasking foldable for everyone. It also does not establish a directly comparable battery-life ranking, a complete account of saved app pairs or floating-window behavior, or current repair coverage across markets. One earlier model, the OnePlus Open, was not supported here by sufficiently current regional availability and multitasking evidence to recommend it on equal footing.
