There is no single best robot companion among Mirumi, Moflin, Loona, Ropet KAMOMO and Eilik: they suit different places and styles of interaction. Choose Mirumi for a bag-attached companion, Moflin or Ropet for a plush pet-like presence, Loona for a mobile home robot with camera and connected features, or Eilik for a small desktop companion. The specifications below are manufacturer or seller claims, not results from independent testing.

Mirumi: a companion for a bag
Mirumi is designed to attach to a bag and respond to touch and sound. That makes it the most wearable option here, rather than a robot meant to roam a room or sit on a desk. Yukai Engineering presents it as a Tokyo-designed companion. See Yukai Engineering’s Mirumi information
Listings have shown materially different prices and power details: the Yukai-linked page displayed a $149 pre-order, a pilot storefront showed $39.99 and three AAA batteries, and a UK-oriented storefront described USB-C charging and around eight hours of use. Treat each as specific to its storefront, configuration and time; they should not be combined into a single definitive price or battery specification. CASIO Moflin: plush interaction without roaming
Moflin is a plush companion built around touch and other sensor input rather than movement around the home. CASIO lists touch, microphone, light, accelerometer and gyroscope sensors, and the MofLife app provides emotion information, an interaction journal, naming, volume, battery level and software updates. CASIO’s distinction about emotional language is important: “Moflin does not possess actual emotions like humans do. Their emotional expressions are simulated by AI.” The apparent emotional states are simulated expressions, not evidence of humanlike feelings. Its page specifies a 450 mAh battery, about 1.5 hours of use, USB-C and about one hour for a full charge. These are listed specifications rather than standardized comparisons with the other robots. Location and mobility

- Arms or bedside: Moflin and Ropet use plush companion formats; the cited pages do not describe them as home-roaming robots.
- Home floor: Loona is the mobile option in this group.

Interaction, camera and connectivity
Features differ: touch and sound responses are central to Mirumi; Moflin combines sensor input with simulated emotional expressions; Loona pairs movement with voice, AI and camera-based remote viewing; Eilik emphasizes desk-based expressions and movement; Ropet is offered as a plush AI pet. Marketing language about companionship does not establish consciousness or humanlike emotion. CASIO explicitly says Moflin’s emotional expressions are simulated. The cited Moflin and Eilik pages do not describe a camera, but that omission is not a guarantee about privacy or all product configurations.
