Fruitstand: Device Collection is the closest fit for cataloging a personal Apple collection. Its App Store listing is built around Macs, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, iPod, HomePod, Apple Vision, and accessories, with fields for specifications, color, condition, warranty status, activation-lock status, serial number, comments, and custom attributes. Choose Sorven: Home Asset Inventory when Apple gear is only part of a larger household inventory, IT Storage: Device Inventory for mixed technical hardware and home labs, and Hoardware for a lightweight iPhone-focused collector log. Use Apple’s Find My separately when your priority is locating an active device rather than recording its ownership history.
Which app should you choose?
The right choice depends on whether you are building an inventory record or trying to find a missing device. Inventory apps preserve details such as serial numbers, condition, purchase documents, warranty dates, and ownership status. Find My and AirTag-based tracking locate devices or tagged items; they do not provide a complete collection database.
| App | Best for | Apple coverage | Record depth | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fruitstand: Device Collection | A collection made mainly of Apple products | Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, iPod, HomePod, Apple Vision, and accessories | Specifications, color, condition, warranty status, activation-lock status, serial number, comments, custom attributes | Most Apple-specific option in this group; organized by product type and model with iCloud sync |
| Sorven: Home Asset Inventory | Households that need Apple and non-Apple assets in one place | iPhone, iPad, and Mac are explicitly covered | Photos, serial numbers, asset tags, make/model/year, condition, purchase information, current value, categories, locations, notes, receipts, warranty and insurance documents, maintenance history, ownership/lifecycle status, search, QR/barcode scanning | Broader asset-management model rather than an Apple-only collection |
| IT Storage: Device Inventory | Technical users, home labs, and mixed hardware | Apple devices can be recorded alongside other equipment | Device, warranty, and document tracking for laptops, desktops, monitors, servers, switches, routers, printers, cables, and other hardware | Designed for infrastructure-style inventories, not primarily collecting |
| Hoardware | Collectors who mainly want an iPhone log | iPhones | iOS version, serial number, and user notes | Reported as free on the App Store for iOS 17 or later; availability and features may change |
| Find My | Locating active Apple devices and tagged items | Apple devices plus items using AirTag or Find My technology | Location and device status rather than purchase, condition, or warranty fields | Apple says its Find My network includes more than one billion iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices, including devices that can help locate items while offline |

Fruitstand is the strongest direct match when the collection itself is the reason you want an app. The listing names nearly every current and legacy Apple product category a collector is likely to own: Macs, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, iPod, HomePod, Apple Vision, and accessories.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What you can record
- Specifications and model information
- Color and physical condition
- Warranty status and activation-lock status
- Serial number
- Comments and custom attributes
Those fields cover both practical ownership tasks and collector needs. Condition and color help distinguish otherwise similar units; custom attributes can preserve details that matter to you, such as storage size, cellular capability, original configuration, or a notable repair. The listing does not define a fixed limit for custom attributes, so confirm how the current version handles them if you need a highly structured catalog.
Organization and synchronization
Fruitstand organizes records by product type and model and supports iCloud synchronization. That makes it suitable when you want the same collection available across your Apple devices rather than keeping a single local file. iCloud sync should not be treated as a substitute for a documented export or backup: export capability was not established in the available listing, so verify it before entering years of data.
Who should pick it
Choose Fruitstand if most of your assets are Apple products and you care about a collector-friendly view of the whole lineup. It is less clearly suited to a household that needs detailed records for appliances, furniture, tools, or non-Apple electronics; Sorven is the broader choice for that situation.
Sorven: Home Asset Inventory — best for a whole-household register
Sorven treats Apple devices as household assets rather than as a separate collection. The documented coverage includes iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and the asset model extends to any other property you need to track.
Information and documents
- Photos, serial numbers, and asset tags
- Make, model, and year
- Condition, purchase information, and current value
- Categories, locations, notes, and ownership or lifecycle status
- Receipts, warranty documents, insurance documents, and maintenance history
This breadth is valuable when a claim, move, resale, or insurance inventory requires more than a serial number. A photo can show cosmetic condition; a receipt supports purchase records; a location field tells you which room, cabinet, or family member has the device; and lifecycle status can distinguish active, stored, loaned, sold, or retired equipment.
Search and scanning
The listing describes search plus QR and barcode scanning. Scanning can reduce typing for assets that already have a machine-readable label, while search helps retrieve a record when you know only a model, location, or tag. The documented listing does not specify which barcode formats are accepted or whether every Apple serial number can be scanned, so test your labels before planning a large intake session around scanning.
Who should pick it
Use Sorven when Apple devices sit alongside cameras, game consoles, networking gear, furniture, or other insurable property. Its document and value fields make it a better fit for a household register than for a purely enthusiast-oriented Apple display.

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
IT Storage: Device Inventory — best for technical mixed-hardware collections
IT Storage is aimed at users who think in terms of equipment inventories and home labs. Its documented scope includes laptops, desktops, monitors, servers, switches, routers, printers, cables, and other hardware, with tracking for devices, warranties, and documents.
Why technical users may prefer it
A Mac can be recorded in the same system as a server, network switch, monitor, or spare cable. That is useful when you maintain a lab, run a small office, or need to know which components are attached to a particular setup. Warranty and document tracking keeps technical records close to the asset instead of in separate folders.
Trade-offs for Apple collectors
The available description does not promise Apple-specific fields such as activation-lock status, Apple product-family organization, or collector-oriented attributes. If your priority is a visual catalog of Apple models and variants, Fruitstand is more targeted. If your priority is knowing every piece of hardware in a rack, office, or workshop, IT Storage’s wider equipment vocabulary is more appropriate.
Hoardware — a lightweight iPhone collector log
9to5Mac reported that Hoardware tracks each iPhone’s iOS version, serial number, and user notes. The report described it as free on the App Store for iOS 17 or later.
Where it fits
Hoardware is appealing if your collection is specifically an iPhone timeline and you want a small number of fields rather than a full asset-management system. Recording the iOS version alongside the serial number can document how a phone was configured when it entered your collection.
Availability caveat
Because the information comes from a report about a newer app, availability and feature details can change. Confirm the current iOS requirement, supported product categories, pricing, and data-handling terms in the live App Store listing before migrating a large catalog.
Find My and AirTag: location tools, not collection databases
Apple describes Find My as a way to keep track of Apple devices “even if they’re offline.” It can show devices on a map and help locate items that use AirTag or Find My technology. Apple reports that the Find My network includes more than one billion iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
What Find My does well
- Shows the current or last known location of supported devices
- Helps recover a misplaced iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, or other supported device
- Uses nearby devices in the Find My network to help locate items when direct connectivity is unavailable
- Works with AirTag and other items that use Find My technology
What it does not replace
Find My is not an ownership ledger. It does not replace fields for purchase date, condition, current value, receipts, insurance documents, maintenance history, or a complete serial-number catalog. A practical setup is to keep the inventory record in Fruitstand, Sorven, or IT Storage and use Find My for devices that are currently active and signed in.
How to build a reliable Apple collection catalog
Whichever app you choose, a consistent intake process prevents duplicate records and missing identifiers.
1. Define what belongs in the collection
Decide whether you are recording only devices you own, or also accessories, sold items, loaners, and parts kept for repair. Fruitstand explicitly supports accessories; Sorven and IT Storage can represent broader household or hardware inventories. Write one rule before you start, such as “record every Apple device currently owned, plus items held for resale.”
2. Gather identifiers before entering records
Collect the serial number for each device and, where relevant, an asset tag or barcode. Keep the original model name and a plain-language label such as “silver laptop used for travel” so you can recognize the item later. If a device has an activation lock, record that status in an Apple-specific field or note it clearly.
3. Create one record per physical item
Do not combine several phones of the same model into one entry. Separate records preserve each serial number, condition, warranty status, and location. For accessories sold as a set, decide whether the set is one asset or whether high-value components need individual records.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches4. Add condition and identifying photos
Use consistent condition labels, for example new, excellent, good, worn, or parts-only. Photograph distinctive marks, storage cases, and included accessories. Sorven explicitly supports photos; for other apps, confirm how images are handled before relying on them as evidence of condition.
5. Attach ownership documents
Add receipts, warranty documents, and insurance records where the app supports attachments. Name files with the device label and purchase year so they remain understandable outside the app. Sorven documents support for receipts, warranty and insurance documents, and maintenance history; IT Storage documents device, warranty, and document tracking.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
6. Record location and lifecycle status
Use a stable location vocabulary such as office, storage box A, family member, loaned out, or sold. Update lifecycle status when a device is repaired, retired, traded, or given away. A location field is especially useful for a collection that includes inactive devices that no longer appear in Find My.
7. Synchronize and protect the data
Fruitstand lists iCloud synchronization. For any app, verify whether synchronization is automatic, which account it uses, and what happens after reinstalling or changing devices. Export capability was not established consistently across the apps covered here, so test an export or backup procedure with a small sample before treating the catalog as your only copy.

Checking warranty status and AppleCare eligibility
Apple Support says it uses serial numbers associated with your Apple Account, along with serial numbers you enter into its Check Coverage service, to provide service and confirm coverage status and eligibility. That makes a correct serial number the key to validating a record.
- Copy the serial number exactly as shown for the device.
- Enter it into Apple’s Check Coverage service or use the serial number already associated with your Apple Account.
- Compare the resulting coverage information with the warranty status stored in your inventory app.
- Save the coverage result or related document in an app that supports attachments, and record the date you checked it.
- Update the record after a repair, replacement, or AppleCare change.
Coverage information can change over time, so a dated check is more useful than an undated “under warranty” label. If a serial number is rejected, recheck characters that are easy to confuse and confirm that you copied the identifier for the physical device you are holding.
Privacy, storage, export, and cost questions to verify
The available app descriptions establish features and supported categories, but they do not provide a reliable, current cross-app comparison of pricing, subscriptions, export formats, ratings, or privacy architecture. Treat those as purchase checks rather than assumptions.
Recommended Free Tools
- Storage model: Determine whether records are stored locally, in a developer-managed cloud, in iCloud, or in a combination.
- Account requirements: Check whether a sign-in is required and whether the app supports multiple household users.
- Export: Look for CSV, PDF, JSON, or another documented export and test it with several records.
- Attachments: Confirm file-size limits and whether receipts and photos are included in backups.
- Pricing: Review the current one-time price, subscription terms, and any limits on records or storage.
- Data deletion: Find out how to remove an individual asset and how to delete an account or cloud copy.
- Platform support: Verify the iOS, iPadOS, and macOS versions you actually use, especially for Hoardware’s reported iOS 17-or-later requirement.
These checks matter because a collection catalog can contain serial numbers, purchase records, insurance documents, and information about where valuable equipment is stored.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Using Find My as the inventory
Find My can tell you where an active device is, but it will not preserve purchase value, condition, receipts, or a complete list of inactive devices. Pair it with an inventory app.
Recording model names without serial numbers
Two identical iPhones or Macs cannot be distinguished reliably by model name alone. Capture the serial number for every physical unit.
Assuming cloud sync equals backup
Synchronization keeps supported devices aligned; it does not necessarily provide a user-readable archive or recovery copy. Verify export and backup behavior before deleting original documents.

Deleting a record removes the history you may need for insurance, tax, resale, or warranty questions. Mark the lifecycle state instead and retain the serial number and transaction notes.
Choosing a broad asset app for a collector-only need
A household inventory can be powerful but may add fields and workflows you never use. If every item in your catalog is an Apple product, Fruitstand’s Apple-specific organization is likely to be faster and easier to scan.
Decision guide
| Your situation | Best starting point | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| You own many Apple product generations and accessories | Fruitstand: Device Collection | Broad Apple category coverage, collector-oriented fields, model organization, and iCloud sync |
| Apple devices are part of a complete home inventory | Sorven: Home Asset Inventory | Photos, values, locations, receipts, insurance documents, maintenance, and lifecycle status |
| You run a home lab or small technical environment | IT Storage: Device Inventory | Tracks Apple gear with servers, networking equipment, monitors, printers, cables, and documents |
| You mainly collect iPhones and want a minimal log | Hoardware | Reported iPhone records with iOS version, serial number, and notes |
| You need to find a missing active device | Find My, optionally with AirTag for an item | Location and offline-network finding rather than ownership records |
Bottom line
Start with Fruitstand if your goal is a dedicated Apple collection catalog. Choose Sorven when receipts, values, insurance documents, locations, and non-Apple property matter as much as the devices themselves. IT Storage is the practical fit for a technical inventory, while Hoardware is a narrow iPhone-focused option whose current availability should be confirmed. Keep Find My enabled for recovery and location, but do not mistake it for an inventory database.
