Google Pixel 9a: the closest lower-cost substitute
If you want a Pixel and do not need the newest model, the Pixel 9a is the closest alternative in the cited comparisons. Android Central reported it available for as little as $399 in the US when its 2026 comparison was published. Android Central and Android Authority describe the two phones as very similar, with the same Tensor G4 chip, 5,100mAh battery, and dual-camera setup.
The Pixel 10a’s cited differences include Gorilla Glass 7i, a slightly brighter display, slightly faster wired charging, new colors, and one additional year of updates, according to Android Central and Android Authority. The 9a makes financial sense when its current price is substantially lower and its remaining software support is sufficient for you. Samsung Galaxy S25 FE: a larger screen and optical zoom
Consider the Galaxy S25 FE if you would rather have a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and a dedicated 3× telephoto camera than the Pixel 10a’s smaller screen and Pixel camera approach. Android Central reports Android 16 at launch and a 4,900mAh battery; Android Authority also notes the 3× telephoto camera and Samsung’s seven-year update policy. The exact support period remaining depends on the current policy and purchase date.

The OnePlus 15R belongs on the list only if your budget can stretch. Android Central reports a $699 starting price and describes a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 12GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB of storage, a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate up to 165Hz, a 7,400mAh battery, and 80W charging. Those are reported specifications, not independent performance or battery-test results.
It offers a different priority: more hardware headroom and battery capacity, rather than Pixel-specific features. Compare the exact phone and offer against the things you will use, not just the headline price. A discounted prior-generation or higher-tier model may be good value, but only if its remaining support, storage, and carrier compatibility work for you.
- Price and storage: Compare unlocked prices for the same storage capacity, and account for seller and carrier restrictions.
- Camera: Choose the S25 FE if a dedicated 3× telephoto camera matters; choose a Pixel if you favor the Pixel camera approach described in the comparisons.
- Screen: The Pixel 10a is 6.3 inches; the listed alternatives offer larger displays, from 6.7 to 6.83 inches.
- Software support: Compare the remaining support period for the exact model, not only the original update promise.
- Battery and charging: Battery capacity and charging rates are manufacturer or publication-reported specifications here, not controlled battery-life comparisons. Check whether wireless charging or faster wired charging matters to you.
- Special features: Pick the Moto G Stylus if you need its pen or expandable storage; do not pay for either feature if you will not use it.
