Kinaxis Maestro is a close planning-led candidate; SAP Integrated Business Planning and Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain Planning merit attention when ERP alignment is central; Blue Yonder may suit buyers weighing planning alongside execution; and Anaplan is relevant when supply chain plans need to connect closely with finance and other functions. These are shortlist directions, not a universal ranking.
Gartner Peer Insights lists Kinaxis Maestro, Logility Decision Intelligence, Blue Yonder Supply Chain Planning, SAP IBP, Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain Planning, ToolsGroup SO99+, OMP Unison Planning, and Anaplan as alternatives considered by o9 Digital Brain users. That listing indicates consideration, not equivalence, endorsement, or proof that any one option is best for your organization.
How the main o9 alternatives differ
Start by separating the buying problem into planning, execution, ERP fit, and cross-functional coordination. Vendors may span more than one area, but a broad product portfolio does not establish that every module is the right fit for a specific workflow.
| Platform | Where it belongs on a shortlist | Evidence and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Kinaxis Maestro | Planning-led, concurrent planning and scenario-oriented decisions across demand, supply, and inventory. | CIOPages characterizes Kinaxis and o9 as planning-led and scenario-first. Gartner Peer Insights lists Maestro among alternatives considered by o9 users. Compare using the same network constraints and disruption scenario, rather than assuming performance from the category label. |
| SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) | ERP-anchored planning, especially where SAP architecture and integration are important decision factors. | SAP describes IBP as cloud-based and powered by SAP HANA, with S&OP, forecasting and demand, response and supply, demand-driven replenishment, inventory planning, and scenario simulation. These are SAP’s product descriptions, not independent comparative performance findings. |
| Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain Planning | ERP-anchored planning for organizations evaluating Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM and its planning modules. | Oracle describes demand management, supply planning, S&OP, collaboration, forecasting, constrained planning, production scheduling, replenishment, and scenario analysis. Actual implementation scope depends on selected modules, data, integrations, workflows, and processes. |
| Blue Yonder Supply Chain Planning | Planning where warehouse, transportation, or other execution capabilities are also part of the buying decision. | Blue Yonder presents planning alongside warehouse and transportation management offerings. Verify the specific modules, architecture, and workflows in scope; the available evidence does not establish a like-for-like feature ranking. |
| Anaplan | Supply chain planning that must connect with financial and other cross-functional plans. | Anaplan describes links across supply chain, finance, sales, HR, and retail, including real-time scenario analysis. ISG’s 2026 S&OP summary names Anaplan among its overall leaders, but that classification is not an outcome guarantee. |
| Logility Decision Intelligence | A candidate to include in a broad alternatives scan. | Gartner Peer Insights lists Logility among alternatives considered by o9 users. The evidence available here is not deep enough to confidently characterize its differentiators or rank it against the other platforms. |
| OMP Unison Planning | A candidate to include in a broad alternatives scan. | Gartner Peer Insights lists OMP among alternatives considered by o9 users. The evidence available here is not deep enough to confidently characterize its differentiators or rank it against the other platforms. |
| ToolsGroup SO99+ | A candidate to include in a broad alternatives scan. | Gartner Peer Insights lists ToolsGroup among alternatives considered by o9 users. The evidence available here is not deep enough to confidently characterize its differentiators or rank it against the other platforms. |
Gartner Peer Insights reviews represent individual end-user opinions. Gartner says they should not be treated as established facts or as Gartner endorsement; review ratings and ordering can also change. Use the list to identify candidates, then evaluate each against your requirements.

Which platform fits which planning constraint?
Choose a planning-led candidate when scenario response is the core problem
If the main need is to understand how a change in demand, supply, or inventory affects the rest of the plan, prioritize a demonstration of the planning workflow itself. CIOPages groups Kinaxis and o9 as planning-led, concurrent, scenario-first platforms. That characterization is a useful starting point, not a substitute for comparing how each handles your data, constraints, approvals, and decision cycle.
Ask both vendors to model the same event—for example, a supplier disruption or capacity reduction—and show the resulting changes to demand coverage, supply, inventory, service, and financial implications. Watch how planners inspect assumptions, explain trade-offs, and incorporate updated information. This is a proposed evaluation method, not a reported comparative test.

Favor ERP alignment when the existing suite shapes the decision
SAP IBP and Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain Planning are worth evaluating when your current ERP estate, data flows, and suite architecture are binding constraints. Compare the actual integration design and required data ownership, not just whether a vendor belongs to the same software ecosystem.
SAP’s stated scope includes multiple planning processes, real-time planning, machine-learning capabilities, demand sensing, multilevel supply planning, scenario comparison, and native integration with SAP Supply Chain Control Tower and other SAP solutions. Oracle’s stated scope includes planning and collaboration capabilities across demand, supply, S&OP, production scheduling, and replenishment. Confirm which capabilities are included in the proposed modules and how they map to your workflows.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesConsider execution breadth when planning is only part of the program
Blue Yonder’s portfolio presents planning alongside warehouse and transportation management. That breadth may matter to retail, consumer-goods, or logistics-heavy operators evaluating planning and execution together. It does not, by itself, show that every execution workflow is covered at the required depth. Ask for a demonstration of the precise processes in scope and how planning decisions reach the teams and systems that execute them.
Prioritize connected planning when financial alignment is essential
Anaplan describes connections among supply chain, finance, sales, HR, and retail planning, with real-time scenario and trade-off analysis. This makes it a candidate when decisions need to be reconciled across functions rather than optimized in a supply-chain-only view. ISG’s 2026 S&OP Buyers Guide summary evaluated 26 software providers and named Anaplan, Kinaxis, and SAP among its overall leaders. That is one analyst perspective, based on ISG’s method, rather than a universal ranking.

How to build a defensible shortlist
- Define the constraint you are buying against. Decide whether the binding problem is demand planning, supply constraints, inventory optimization, S&OP or integrated business planning, network visibility, execution, or financial alignment. These are distinct buying lanes even when a vendor sells across them.
- Write one shared scenario for every finalist. Choose a plausible change—such as a supplier disruption or capacity shift—and require each vendor to trace its effects across demand, supply, inventory, service, and financial trade-offs. Compare response speed, explainability, workflow, and the effort required to use your data; do not treat a generic scripted demo as proof of performance.
- Map the data and ERP estate. Document source systems, master data, planning signals, integrations, data ownership, and the constraints the software must use. Ask vendors to show how those inputs enter the plan and what must be cleansed, transformed, or maintained outside the platform.
- Scope the implementation, not just the license. For each proposal, record modules and user roles, deployment and integration design, implementation services, change management, and ongoing operating responsibilities. Oracle notes that implementation depends on modules, data, integrations, workflows, and processes selected; the same scoping discipline is necessary when comparing any enterprise platform.
- Compare cost on the same basis. Request scoped quotes for the same time horizon and comparable scope. The reviewed sources do not establish comparable public vendor price lists, so avoid relying on unverified price claims or comparing a narrow module quote with a broader program estimate.
- Use analyst reports as screening inputs. Gartner’s abstract for its process-industries supply chain planning research, published March 18, 2026, says it covers 16 vendors. ISG’s 2026 S&OP Buyers Guide summary says it evaluated 26 providers. Their scopes and methods differ; neither establishes which platform will best fit a particular enterprise.
What the evidence can—and cannot—tell you
Vendor product pages are useful for identifying stated scope, such as SAP’s planning components, Oracle’s listed planning areas, Anaplan’s cross-functional positioning, and Blue Yonder’s broader portfolio. Treat these as vendor descriptions and verify current availability, module boundaries, integration requirements, and functional fit directly in a scoped evaluation.
Anaplan’s product page includes customer-published examples, including a reported 20% reduction in inventory carrying costs for one customer and a 5–10% forecast-accuracy increase in another example. These are vendor-published customer claims, not independent or directly comparable benchmarks; they do not predict results for another organization.

The sources establish no universal winner, comparable implementation duration, or buyer-specific performance result. Those outcomes depend on requirements, chosen scope, data quality, integration design, and implementation decisions. Treat any finalist’s fit as a question to validate against your own operating constraints.
