The best AI agent for customer support depends on the work you need it to do—not on a single overall ranking. Fin is a candidate for answering questions from company help content; Zendesk for broad channel coverage and agent writing tools; Salesforce Agentforce Service for AI assistance inside an existing Salesforce operation; ServiceNow Customer Service Management for cross-team case handoffs; and Jotform AI Agents for a fast-start customer-facing agent. Those are distinct use cases, not proof that one product will perform best on your data. Choose by workflow, knowledge sources, handoff controls, platform fit, and how the AI is charged.

What counts as an AI agent for customer support?

“AI support” can mean several different jobs. A customer-facing agent may respond directly and attempt to resolve an issue. An agent-assistance feature may draft a reply or summarize a case for a human. A triage feature may classify a request or send it to the right team. One platform can combine these functions, but the capabilities and risks are not interchangeable.

Before comparing products, write down the support task you want to change. For example, decide whether the goal is to answer routine questions from approved help content, help staff write faster, route cases across departments, or automate an end-to-end interaction. That definition makes a vendor demonstration easier to assess: you can ask it to handle a representative case rather than judge a broad promise about “AI.”

G2’s Fall 2026 comparison of Agentforce Service, Zendesk for Customer Service, Fin, ServiceNow Customer Service Management, and Jotform AI Agents combines Grid data and recent review commentary with checks against vendor documentation. Its Grid feature ratings reflect reviewer sentiment, not a controlled technical test. Treat the comparison as a shortlist and a source of questions to investigate—not a forecast of performance on your content, customer records, or policies.

AI customer-support agents compared

Product Use case highlighted in G2’s Fall 2026 comparison What to verify before choosing
Fin Resolving questions using a company’s help content How it determines and verifies a resolution, what happens on uncertainty, and the applicable usage charges. Fin’s vendor-published pricing guide describes an outcome model.
Zendesk for Customer Service Broad channel coverage and agent writing tools Which channels and AI capabilities are included in the plan you need, and whether routing and handoff fit your workflow.
Salesforce Agentforce Service AI assistance within an existing Salesforce operation Whether your Salesforce configuration, data, and selected plan support the actions and channels you require; confirm the charging model.
ServiceNow Customer Service Management Cross-team case handoffs How cases move between teams, what context follows them, and which capabilities are available in your edition.
Jotform AI Agents A fast-start customer-facing agent Which customer interactions it can handle, how it uses approved information, and what human escalation and plan limits apply.

These are the comparison’s highlighted strengths, not a complete feature inventory. It does not establish a common channel-by-channel or plan-by-plan matrix for the five products. Confirm website chat, email, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and any voice requirements with each vendor for the particular edition under consideration; broad channel coverage should not be read as a promise that every channel is available on every plan.

1. Fin: consider it for answers grounded in help content

Fin is the shortlist’s clearest fit when the desired job is resolving customer questions from a company’s help content. That makes knowledge quality central to the purchase decision. Check which sources the agent can use, how updates reach it, and whether it can avoid presenting an uncertain or unsupported answer as fact. Ask to see a complex case transferred to a person with the interaction context intact.

Fin’s provider-published guide, dated July 8, 2026, describes its pricing as $0.99 per outcome. That figure is a vendor claim, not a universal measure of support cost. Ask the vendor what counts as an outcome, how it is verified, and what happens financially when a conversation is escalated, abandoned, or only partly resolved. Model costs against your own traffic and likely resolution rate rather than treating the per-outcome figure as the entire bill.

2. Zendesk for Customer Service: consider it for channel breadth and writing assistance

G2’s comparison highlights Zendesk for broad channel coverage and tools that help agents write. That combination may suit a team that needs staff-facing assistance as well as customer interactions across several channels. The distinction matters: drafting or improving a human agent’s reply is not the same as letting an autonomous system send that reply without review.

Map the channels your customers actually use to the exact Zendesk plan and AI package being quoted. Confirm whether the AI feature drafts, sends, classifies, or routes; whether a person can review the output; and what context is visible when a case moves between channels or to a human. The comparison does not establish the price or precise entitlements for a particular Zendesk configuration, so use current vendor documentation and a written quote for those details.

3. Salesforce Agentforce Service: consider it for an existing Salesforce operation

Agentforce Service—formerly Salesforce Service Cloud in the comparison—stands out there as an option for AI assistance inside an existing Salesforce operation. Its relevance is strongest when the service team already relies on Salesforce and wants AI to work in that environment. The name alone does not establish that your records are clean, that an agent has the right context, or that the desired action is included in your edition.

Salesforce’s 2026 announcement for its State of Service: AI Agents Edition reports that 72% of service operations professionals say data readiness is a major blocker to AI; among customer-service leaders, the reported figure is 59%. These are different groups, and neither statistic predicts the state of an individual company’s data. Use them as a reason to inspect your own knowledge and customer records before rollout: inaccurate, stale, or inaccessible information can undermine an otherwise suitable workflow.

Salesforce’s 2026 report announcement also says 85% of service organizations use at least one form of AI, and that 66% use agentic AI in customer service, up from 39% in 2025. The announcement describes a survey of 3,075 customer-service professionals worldwide. These are survey findings about reported use, not evidence that every deployment is effective or that a specific product is the right match.

A Fin-published pricing comparison dated July 8, 2026 describes Salesforce Agentforce’s conversation model at $2 per conversation and a standard Salesforce Flex Credit action at $0.10. These are dated claims in a vendor-authored comparison and may change; confirm current terms with Salesforce. A conversation charge and an action-credit charge measure different things, so compare them only after identifying the billable event, likely actions per case, and any separate seat, channel, or integration costs.

4. ServiceNow Customer Service Management: consider it for cross-team cases

G2 highlights ServiceNow Customer Service Management for cross-team case handoffs. That use case is relevant when resolving a customer issue depends on work outside the front-line service desk. In a demonstration, follow a case that needs another team: check whether ownership changes clearly, whether the customer’s history and relevant context travel with it, and how the customer is kept informed.

Do not infer from a handoff strength that every integration, department workflow, or communication channel is included. Confirm the products and editions required to connect the teams involved, then ask who can change routing rules and how exceptions are handled. The available comparison does not provide a full security or compliance assessment, so organizations with specific requirements need vendor documentation and their own review.

5. Jotform AI Agents: consider it for a fast-start customer-facing agent

Jotform AI Agents is the comparison’s fast-start customer-facing option. That can make it worth evaluating when a team wants to put an agent in front of customers without treating the purchase as a broad replacement for its support operation. “Fast-start” is a use-case characterization, not a guarantee of setup time or successful outcomes for every business.

Ask which information the agent can rely on, what interactions it is meant to handle, and what it does when a request falls outside that scope. Test a policy exception and an unclear question, not only a straightforward FAQ. Verify available channels, integrations, human escalation, and plan entitlements directly; the comparison does not establish those details for every Jotform configuration.

How to choose: five checks before a demo or trial

  1. Define the job. State whether you want autonomous customer-facing resolution, staff assistance, classification and routing, or a combination. Identify the interaction and desired outcome rather than beginning with an “AI” feature list.
  2. Check the knowledge and data. List the approved help content and customer or account context the workflow needs. Decide who maintains that material and how changes are reflected. Salesforce’s 2026 survey findings show that data readiness is a reported obstacle; assess your own records instead of assuming a platform will fix them.
  3. Test uncertainty and human handoff. Give the system a normal question, an incomplete request, and a policy exception. Watch whether it recognizes uncertainty, routes the case appropriately, and passes useful context to the receiving person. G2 specifically identifies handoff behavior as a comparison factor.
  4. Match platform, channels, and plan. Check the help desk or CRM already in use, required integrations, each customer channel, and which edition includes the capability. Ask vendors to identify any add-on or configuration dependency in writing.
  5. Model the billable event. Estimate conversation volume, likely resolutions, escalations, and actions. Add any seat, channel, or integration fees. A per-conversation fee may apply even when a case escalates; an outcome-based fee depends on the vendor’s definition and verification of resolution.

Compare cost by billing unit, not headline price

The available figures illustrate why AI agent rates are not directly comparable. Fin’s guide describes outcome or per-resolution pricing, a conversation model for Salesforce Agentforce, and a standard Salesforce Flex Credit action. Vendors may also price by session or interaction, credits, or a custom enterprise contract. A unit that counts conversations is not equivalent to one that counts actions or verified outcomes.

Pricing model described in the July 8, 2026 Fin guide Published example Question to settle before estimating cost
Outcome or per-resolution Fin: $0.99 per outcome What is an outcome, how is it verified, and what is charged when a case is escalated?
Per conversation Salesforce Agentforce: $2 per conversation When does a conversation start and end, and can an escalated interaction still be billed?
Per action using credits Salesforce standard Flex Credit action: $0.10 Which system actions consume credits, and how many actions might a typical case require?

The figures above are claims in a provider-published comparison dated July 8, 2026, not a complete quote or assurance of current availability. Obtain current pricing directly from the vendor and calculate a scenario using expected traffic, resolution and escalation rates, and any separate platform costs. A low-looking unit price can still produce a high bill if the unit is triggered often; a success-based unit can also be difficult to compare until “success” is defined consistently.

What adoption statistics can—and cannot—tell you

Salesforce’s 2026 announcement says 70% of organizations with AI service agents report measurable value within 60 days of deployment. This is a survey finding, not a guarantee, causal estimate, or forecast for a buyer. It does not tell you which workflows those organizations automated, how “measurable value” was defined, or whether their results transfer to another team.

Similarly, the 2025 Futurum Research benchmark reproduced in a Salesforce-hosted report says agentic AI was a top vendor-selection criterion for 15% of respondents at companies with more than $25 billion in annual revenue, alongside features; for other company sizes, the figure was in the 7%–10% range. This is a buyer-preference benchmark, not a performance comparison of support agents. Use adoption and preference figures as context, not as a reason to skip workflow, data, and cost checks.

Shortlist by fit, then validate your own workflow

For a team already operating in Salesforce, evaluate Agentforce Service’s fit with its current setup and billing unit. For a need centered on help-content answers, examine Fin’s resolution definition and handoff. For broad channels and human-agent writing assistance, verify Zendesk’s specific plan coverage. For cases that cross departments, trace a ServiceNow handoff end to end. For a quick-start customer-facing agent, test whether Jotform’s scope and controls match the interactions you intend to automate.

G2’s Fall 2026 comparison offers useful differentiation, but it is not a common technical bake-off, a complete security review, or a guarantee of results. Salesforce and vendor-published pricing and survey figures are also claims with defined sources and dates, not independent proof of product performance. The defensible choice is the product that handles your representative cases, escalates safely, fits your data and channels, and has a billing model your team can forecast.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will adding an AI agent automatically make a help center more accurate?

No. An agent can only work reliably with information it can access and interpret. Decide who owns the source content, how policy updates are reviewed, and how you will detect answers that are outdated or unsupported before expanding customer-facing use.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Can one AI agent handle every customer-support channel?

Do not assume so. Channel availability depends on the vendor, edition, configuration, and sometimes separate integrations. Confirm each required channel—such as email, website chat, or a social messaging service—against the exact plan and workflow you intend to deploy.

Are survey findings a guarantee that a particular support team will see value?

No. The Salesforce and Futurum Research figures cited here describe reported adoption, value, or buyer preferences among specified survey groups. They do not establish the result a particular organization will achieve or compare these products under the same support conditions.
