The best 4K TV for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X is one with convincing HDR, a responsive Game Mode and clear motion at 60 Hz—not necessarily a set built around 4K/120 Hz or 165 Hz. The five picks below cover different priorities: OLED contrast, bright-room viewing, budget HDR and motion, plus a premium option. These recommendations reflect published TV reviews and official console guidance available as of October 2026; no live prices or inventory are established.

| Samsung S95H | Premium contrast, glare control and responsiveness | 165 Hz capability; not needed by these consoles | Oct 2026 |
What matters most in a TV for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X?
For these consoles, a good 4K/60 Hz picture, useful HDR, responsive controls and motion that stays clear during play matter more than a high refresh-rate headline. PS4 Pro supports 4K output and HDR in supported games, and Sony’s setup guidance calls for a 4K/60 Hz-capable display path. Microsoft advertises Xbox One X as a 4K/HDR console. Neither fact means every game renders natively at 4K or runs at 60 frames per second: Sony says enhancements vary by title. See Sony’s PS4 Pro overview, Sony’s 4K and HDR setup guide, and RTINGS’ 2026 gaming-TV guide.
Input lag and motion blur are different
Input lag is the delay between a button press and the resulting action appearing on screen. Pixel response and motion handling affect how clearly moving objects appear. A TV can feel responsive in Game Mode and still show blur during a fast camera pan or dark scene; that distinction matters when comparing the Hisense U7SG and U6SF Pro with the TCL QM6K. The cited reviews describe the U7SG as low-lag but note slower dark pixel transitions, while the U6SF Pro is described as very blurry in fast action. The QM6K is a stronger motion-oriented budget choice, with very low Game Master input lag.
HDR logos are not a picture-quality guarantee
HDR support tells you a TV accepts an HDR signal; it does not establish how bright highlights look or how well the screen separates bright objects from dark surroundings. RTINGS’ review of the Hisense QD6QF is a useful caution: the set accepts HDR formats but lacks local dimming and the brightness for an impactful HDR image. It is not one of the recommended picks here. Read RTINGS’ Hisense QD6QF review.

Which 4K TVs are the best picks for these consoles?
The ranking below weighs the trade-offs that matter for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X: picture quality, reflections and room lighting, 60 Hz motion, responsiveness, and whether a feature is useful to these consoles. The cited evaluations are published TV tests, not tests of this site’s own console-and-TV setups.
1. LG C6 OLED 2026: best balanced OLED
Choose the LG C6 if deep blacks, clean motion and quick response are your priorities. RTINGS describes the reviewed C6 as having exceptionally deep blacks, nearly instantaneous response and low input lag, making it a strong fit for both cinematic games and responsive play. Its OLED contrast can make dark scenes look especially rich, without local-dimming zones producing bright halos around small highlights.
Room conditions and size matter. RTINGS says the C6 handles moderately lit spaces, but reflections can be an issue. OLED pixels can also be vulnerable to burn-in after cumulative exposure to static images, so players who leave a bright, fixed HUD on screen for long sessions should account for that risk. The reviewed C6 panel covers 42-, 48-, 55- and 65-inch models; RTINGS says the 77- and 83-inch C6H sets use a different panel, so do not assume the reviewed panel findings apply unchanged to those sizes. See RTINGS’ LG C6 OLED 2026 review.

2. Hisense U7SG: bright-room or mid-range alternative
The U7SG is a practical alternative when room brightness and reflections are bigger concerns than wide-angle seating. Its Mini LED local dimming and matte coating are suited to brighter spaces, and RTINGS reports low input lag. That makes it a balanced LED choice for players who want a bright picture without stepping up to an OLED.

There are compromises: the viewing angle is narrow, and slower transitions in dark pixels can blur motion even though input lag is low. The console-specific caveat is important: RTINGS says VRR does not work if the source is set to 60 Hz. Do not treat the U7SG’s VRR support as an assured benefit for PS4 Pro or Xbox One X at their 60 Hz source setting. See RTINGS’ Hisense U7SG review.
3. Hisense U6SF Pro: budget, picture-first choice
Consider the U6SF Pro if you want stronger contrast and HDR brightness for the money and are willing to accept less convincing motion in fast scenes. RTINGS reports good contrast, effective local dimming and high brightness for this class. Those traits can give dark game environments and bright HDR effects more impact than a basic screen without local dimming.
The trade-off is clear: RTINGS describes fast action as very blurry. Do not interpret a feature list that includes gaming capabilities as proof that motion will look sharp. For racing, action games or frequent rapid camera movement, the motion-first TCL QM6K is the more sensible budget comparison. See RTINGS’ Hisense U6SF Pro review.

4. TCL QM6K: budget, motion-first choice
The QM6K is worth comparing if you want very low input lag and better motion than the U6SF Pro at a budget-oriented end of the lineup. RTINGS specifically highlights its very low Game Master input lag and better motion relative to the U6SF Pro. That can make it a more appealing fit when responsive controls and clarity in movement count more than punchy HDR highlights.

Its HDR highlights are not bright enough for a particularly impactful HDR picture, and direct-facing lights can reflect strongly. Positioning the screen away from a bright lamp or window can help with the reflection issue, but it cannot change the TV’s HDR brightness limitation. See RTINGS’ TCL QM6K review.
5. Samsung S95H: premium alternative, not a console requirement
The S95H is the premium pick for buyers who value exceptional contrast, glare control and responsiveness. RTINGS names it its overall gaming-TV pick, but that broader recommendation includes devices with capabilities these older consoles do not require. The S95H’s 165 Hz capability is not a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X mode, so it should not be the reason to pay extra for this console pairing.
Two trade-offs to weigh are its lack of Dolby Vision and RTINGS’ observation that blacks can look raised in a bright room. This premium set may make more sense for a buyer choosing around viewing preferences or additional devices, rather than someone seeking a feature threshold for these consoles. See RTINGS’ 2026 gaming-TV guide.

Is 120 Hz or HDMI 2.1 worth paying extra for?
Not just for PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. Sony specifies a 4K/60 Hz-capable display path for PS4 Pro setup; the supplied console guidance does not make 4K/120 Hz a requirement. A higher-refresh TV may be useful with a newer console or gaming PC later, but that is a separate reason to buy. RTINGS lists four HDMI 2.1 ports and a maximum 165 Hz refresh rate for the reviewed LG C6, and four HDMI 2.1 ports and 165 Hz at 4K for the U7SG. Those are TV capabilities, not output modes for the named consoles. Sony’s PS4 Pro connection guidance and RTINGS’ gaming-TV guide help distinguish the display’s ceiling from the console’s needs.
If a TV with HDMI 2.1 also has picture qualities you want, its extra ports may be convenient for other gear. But do not pay a premium on the assumption that these consoles will deliver 4K/120 Hz or 165 Hz gameplay. For the consoles in this guide, prioritize a clean 4K/60 Hz connection and a TV whose image and input response suit the room and games you play.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How do you set up PS4 Pro for 4K and HDR?
Start with the TV’s 4K-capable HDMI input and enable 4K on every receiver between the console and screen. Sony recommends Premium HDMI cables through the chain. On the console, check its video output settings; the TV, receiver and content may affect which options are available.
- Connect the console to a 4K-capable HDMI input. If an AV receiver or other device sits between the PS4 Pro and TV, confirm that the specific input and device support the required 4K path, then enable 4K on the receiver as described in its manual.
- Check the cable path. Sony says, “Make sure you are using Premium HDMI cables to connect all devices in the chain.” A certified Premium High Speed HDMI cable is a reasonable replacement if an existing cable cannot carry the connection reliably; it is not a compulsory accessory if the current cable works.
- Review PS4 Pro video output settings. Open Settings > Sound and Screen > Video Output Settings. Select Automatic or a supported 2160p mode, as appropriate for the connected equipment.
- Enable HDR where supported. Use the PS4 Pro video output options and the TV’s own settings, following the TV manual for its model-specific controls. Some games also have an in-game HDR option.
- Confirm the signal at the TV. Check the TV’s information display or input indicator for the incoming resolution and HDR status, if that model provides one. If the picture is absent or the expected signal is missing, troubleshoot the full chain rather than assuming the console is at fault.
These steps follow Sony’s PS4 Pro 4K and HDR guide. Settings and labels can vary by TV and receiver, so use each device’s manual for its exact menus.

What if the TV shows no picture or not 4K HDR?
- Check the selected input: confirm the TV is on the HDMI port connected to the console and that the port supports the signal you are trying to use.
- Remove the receiver temporarily: connect the PS4 Pro directly to the TV to see whether an intervening receiver or device is interrupting the video path. If the direct connection works, check the receiver’s supported formats, port selection and 4K setting.
- Check the cable and resolution: verify the cable chain and use Automatic or a 2160p mode supported by the connected devices. Sony documents resolution troubleshooting for a missing image.
- Check HDCP carefully: Sony includes HDCP troubleshooting, but forcing HDCP 1.4 can remove 4K/HDR for some content or apps. Treat it as a diagnostic option, not a general quality setting, and restore the normal configuration when troubleshooting is finished.
- Check game-specific options: a console-level HDR setting does not guarantee every game uses HDR; some titles require their own in-game option.
How were these TVs selected?
The shortlist follows the distinct strengths and limitations reported in the cited published reviews, rather than treating a single specification as a universal winner. The ranking puts a balanced OLED first, then options that make clear trade-offs for brighter rooms, budget picture quality, budget motion, or premium preferences.
- Favor 4K/60 Hz performance, responsive Game Mode and motion clarity over paying solely for refresh rates these consoles do not target.
- Separate input lag from pixel response and motion blur; low lag alone does not guarantee crisp fast action.
- Consider HDR contrast and brightness alongside format support, rather than treating an HDR label as proof of a strong HDR image.
- Make room lighting, reflections, viewing angle and OLED static-image exposure part of the choice.
- Include a premium high-refresh option only with a clear qualification about what the consoles can use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable improve PS4 Pro or Xbox One X picture quality?
The console guidance here does not establish a need for an Ultra High Speed cable. Sony recommends Premium HDMI cables for the PS4 Pro connection chain; replacing a cable is relevant when the existing one cannot reliably carry the signal, not as an automatic image-quality upgrade.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesCan every size of the LG C6 OLED be assumed to use the reviewed panel?
No. RTINGS’ cited review covers 42-, 48-, 55- and 65-inch C6 models and says the 77- and 83-inch C6H sets use a different panel. Check the exact model and size rather than assuming results carry across the range.
Does a TV’s VRR feature guarantee a benefit with a 60 Hz console source?
No. RTINGS specifically reports that VRR does not work on the Hisense U7SG when the source is set to 60 Hz. A feature listed on the TV should not be treated as proof that it will operate in every source configuration.
