There is no well-supported, market-wide ranking of the five best 32-inch smart TVs: the models and ratings available differ by country, and the listings do not share a single test method. For a starting point, TechRadar’s October 22, 2026 guide names the LG 32LQ6300 its best 32-inch TV for most people, with the Amazon 2-series as a budget alternative and the TCL S5400 as a UK alternative. The five models below are candidates to compare—not a universal head-to-head ranking. Check the exact regional model, resolution, platform and current availability before you buy.

Which 32-inch smart TVs are worth comparing?

These five candidates reflect different markets and evidence types. TechRadar’s editorial scores are not customer ratings; manufacturer and retailer star averages are owner-review snapshots. Neither type establishes a universal winner across all five sets.

Candidate Market or qualification What the available evidence says Best reason to consider it
LG 32LQ6300 Confirm the exact regional SKU and local availability. TechRadar identifies it as its best 32-inch TV for most people. Its guide lists Full HD 1080p LED, webOS, HDR10 and HLG, and scores picture, sound, smart TV and menus, and gaming at 4/5 each. A well-rounded starting point if you want Full HD and a familiar smart-TV interface.
Amazon 2-series TechRadar’s budget alternative; check which model is sold in your country. TechRadar includes it in its comparison, scoring picture, sound, interface and gaming. The available comparison information does not establish its exact resolution or regional configuration. A budget candidate to investigate when price matters most; verify the specific listing’s specifications before comparing it with Full HD sets.
TCL S5400 TechRadar describes it as a UK alternative; verify the precise model number and current UK availability. In TechRadar’s comparison, it receives 3/5 for picture, 3/5 for sound, 3.5/5 for smart TV and menus, and 3/5 for gaming. A UK-market comparison option if you want to weigh its reviewed performance against the other locally available sets.
Roku Select Series 32-inch HD US candidate; Roku also offers a distinct 32-inch Full HD variant. Roku’s official HD product page displayed 4.8/5 from 412 reviews, with 192 of 206 recommending it, when accessed October 25, 2026. These are manufacturer-site review-panel figures for the HD model. A Roku-platform option if HD is sufficient and its app selection suits your household.
TCL V5D UK-market candidate listed by Currys; recheck stock and exact SKU. Currys lists a 32-inch QLED Full HD model, 60 Hz refresh rate and 4.6/5 from 80 reviews in the snapshot accessed October 25, 2026. A UK Full HD option to compare if you want QLED and the smart platform and apps meet your needs.

These details come from TechRadar’s October 22, 2026 reviewed guide, Roku’s official product page and Currys UK listings. Retailer stock, review counts and averages can change. The available facts do not provide a common test of all five models, prices for a single market or complete specifications for every regional version.

How to read the five candidates

LG 32LQ6300: the broadest starting point

TechRadar’s guide calls the LG 32LQ6300 the best 32-inch TV for most people. That is an editorial conclusion from that guide, not a worldwide certification. The listed specification is a Full HD 1080p LED panel with webOS, HDR10 and HLG. Its 4/5 scores for picture, sound, smart TV and menus, and gaming make it the most balanced option in that particular comparison.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Full HD is useful when the set is used as a close desk monitor, bedroom TV or small living-room display, because text and fine details have more pixels than a 720p model. However, confirm that the local listing actually uses model number 32LQ6300. Regional suffixes, tuners and bundled remotes can differ, and an apparently identical retailer title is not enough evidence.

Amazon 2-series: a price-led alternative

TechRadar positions the Amazon 2-series as its budget alternative. The guide compares its picture, sound, interface and gaming, but the available material does not establish one universal resolution or configuration. Treat “2-series” as a family description until the seller identifies the exact model number, screen resolution and country.

A low purchase price can be sensible for a guest room or occasional viewing, but compare like with like. A 720p Amazon set should not be judged as though it were a 1080p model, and a Fire TV interface may offer a different app catalog from Roku TV, webOS, Tizen or Google TV in your region. Check the services your household uses before accepting a bargain.

TCL S5400: a UK-specific comparison point

TechRadar lists the TCL S5400 as a UK alternative. In its table, the model scores 3/5 for picture, 3/5 for sound, 3.5/5 for smart TV and menus, and 3/5 for gaming. Those category marks show how that publication evaluated the set; they are not owner-review averages and cannot be directly combined with a Currys star rating.

Use the S5400 as a benchmark when comparing UK stock. Verify the full suffix, tuner, operating system and resolution on the UK manufacturer page or manual. Do not assume that an S5400 sold elsewhere has the same panel or software, and do not confuse it with the separate TCL V5D.

Roku Select Series: separate HD and Full HD versions

Roku’s official Select Series page covers distinct 32-inch HD and Full HD variants. The HD page displayed 4.8/5 from 412 reviews and showed 192 of 206 reviewers recommending the product when accessed October 25, 2026. That panel is a manufacturer-site review snapshot for the HD version. Best Buy search results also showed a 2026 Roku Select Series Full HD listing at 4.7/5 from 253 reviews in one snapshot and 271 reviews in another. Counts change, and the two panels should not be merged.

TCL V5D: UK QLED Full HD candidate

Currys UK lists the TCL V5D as a 32-inch QLED Full HD television with a 60 Hz refresh rate. Its displayed customer average was 4.6/5 from 80 reviews in the October 25, 2026 snapshot. QLED is a display-technology label, while Full HD describes pixel count; neither label alone establishes brightness, contrast or HDR performance.

Compare the V5D with the S5400 only after confirming that both are current UK listings and that their smart platforms provide the same services you need. The Currys rating is useful as an owner-sentiment signal, but it was not produced under the same test conditions as TechRadar’s scores.

What does the rating mean?

“Rated” can refer to an editor’s assessment or an average of customer reviews; those figures answer different questions. TechRadar’s scores are its editorial ratings for specific performance categories. Roku’s and Currys’ star averages reflect reviews displayed by those sellers or manufacturers, not controlled laboratory tests.

  • Editorial scores: TechRadar reports separate 1-to-5 scores for picture, sound, smart TV and menus, and gaming. For example, its 4/5 marks for the LG 32LQ6300 and the TCL S5400’s lower category scores are that publication’s assessments, not owner averages.
  • Customer averages: Review totals and averages are snapshots, vary over time and may refer to one variant rather than every TV sharing a product-family name. Read the listing’s exact model and review panel before relying on the number.
  • Review volume: A 4.8/5 average from 412 reviews and a 4.8/5 average from 20 reviews do not provide the same amount of feedback. Record both the count and the date checked.

Do not treat one kind of rating as a substitute for the other. A high owner average does not demonstrate that two sets were tested under the same conditions, while an editorial score does not tell you whether local customers like the interface or find the setup convenient.

Should you choose HD or Full HD at 32 inches?

Check the model’s resolution rather than inferring it from screen size. The 32-inch category includes HD/720p and Full HD/1080p sets, and similar family names can cover different configurations.

  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
  • HD/720p: A lower-resolution option that may suit basic viewing at this screen size. The Roku Select Series HD, Samsung H5000F and Samsung UK H5020 are examples surfaced in the listings.
  • Full HD/1080p: Provides more pixels than 720p. Examples in the available material include the LG 32LQ6300 and TCL V5D, along with separate Full HD variants of the Roku Select Series and Samsung F6000F.

At typical sofa distance, the difference may be less noticeable than it is at a desk or in a small bedroom. Text from menus, subtitles and game interfaces can still benefit from the additional pixels. Conversely, paying more for Full HD is unnecessary if the set is used mainly for casual broadcast viewing and the HD model has the apps and inputs you need.

Do not assume that a product page for a family describes every size or regional SKU. In particular, the Roku Select Series has separate 32-inch HD and Full HD versions. Best Buy listings also distinguish Samsung’s F6000F Full HD from H5000F HD. Confirm the resolution in the specification for the exact item you intend to order.

How should you compare smart platforms and picture quality?

Start with the apps and services you actually use, then compare picture, sound, menus and gaming evidence for the exact models available where you live. Current listings in this category include Roku TV, Fire TV, Tizen, webOS and Google TV examples, but the platform depends on the particular model and market.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Check app availability first

Make a short list of essential services—such as the streaming apps used by your household—and confirm each is available for the TV’s platform in your region. A platform name alone does not prove that every app is offered in every country, or that a similarly named TV in another country has the same software. Also check whether the app requires a separate subscription; a smart-TV label does not include streaming memberships.

Separate display technology from resolution

Resolution describes pixel count; a label such as QLED describes a display technology. The Currys listing for the TCL V5D identifies it as QLED and Full HD. Do not infer resolution, brightness, contrast or HDR performance from a technology label alone: the available sources do not provide comparable measurements for all five candidates. The LG listing specifically mentions HDR10 and HLG, but that does not establish identical HDR behavior on other models.

Use the reviewed categories as a checklist

TechRadar’s comparison scores picture, sound, smart TV and menus, and gaming. These categories help identify what to investigate, but the scores only cover the models in that guide. If gaming or clear dialogue matters to you, look for model-specific evidence rather than assuming a 32-inch set performs like a larger TV from the same brand. A 60 Hz listing, such as the one shown for TCL V5D and Hisense A4S by Currys, is a specification to note, not a complete gaming-latency test.

What should you check before placing an order?

  1. Write down the full model number. Save the manufacturer’s code, including letters and suffixes, from the local product page. Do not rely on a shortened family name in a search result.
  2. Confirm resolution. Look for explicit HD/720p or Full HD/1080p wording in the specification table. Check that the resolution applies to the 32-inch size you are buying.
  3. Verify the operating system. Identify whether the listing uses Roku TV, Fire TV, Tizen, webOS, Google TV or another platform, then check regional app support.
  4. Check ports and connectivity. Manufacturer pages or manuals should identify HDMI, USB, audio and antenna connections. Port counts are not established consistently in the listings above, so verify them for your devices.
  5. Check refresh rate and gaming claims. Record the stated refresh rate, but do not treat it as a substitute for tested input lag or motion performance.
  6. Measure the furniture. Confirm the television’s width, depth, stand spacing and weight in the manual or specification sheet. A 32-inch diagonal does not guarantee the same footprint between brands.
  7. Review stand and mounting details. If you plan to wall-mount, use the manufacturer’s manual to verify the mounting pattern and allowable hardware. The available listings do not establish a universal VESA pattern or weight.
  8. Check return and warranty terms. Retailer policies can differ by country and seller. Keep the box until you have tested the panel, remote and apps.
  9. Record the date and price. Prices, availability, review totals and star averages change. Capture the listing date so a later comparison does not present a temporary deal as a permanent value.

How can you choose a set for your room and budget?

For a sensible shortlist, set the country and maximum spend first, then decide which compromises you can accept. The available listings do not establish comparable current prices, so a value verdict depends on checking local offers for exact SKUs.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Set your market. Use listings for the country where you will buy and watch TV. UK model names and retailer ratings should not be treated as US evidence, or vice versa.
  2. Decide whether Full HD matters. If you want 1080p, eliminate listings that specify HD/720p and verify that the exact variant—not merely its family name—is Full HD.
  3. Check platform and apps. Confirm the services you need are supported in your region before choosing based on an interface or platform label.
  4. Compare the same kind of evidence. Read editorial category scores as reviews and retail stars as customer averages. Note the review count and when the average was checked.
  5. Verify the complete product details. Before ordering, check the manufacturer’s page or manual for the regional model number, ports, refresh rate, dimensions and stand or mounting specifications. These details are not established for every candidate here.

For a broadly capable Full HD starting point, TechRadar’s pick is the LG 32LQ6300. If cost is the priority, its budget alternative is the Amazon 2-series, but verify the exact listing’s resolution and configuration rather than assuming them. In the UK, compare the reviewed TCL S5400 with the Full HD TCL V5D listing; they are distinct models, and the information available does not establish that one is better overall.

Which model fits common use cases?

  • Bedroom or guest room: An HD Roku Select Series or another HD model may be adequate when viewing is mostly from several feet away. Prioritize the apps, remote and simple menus you actually use.
  • Desk or close viewing: Favor a confirmed Full HD model such as the LG 32LQ6300, TCL V5D or a Full HD Roku variant. More pixels can make text and computer interfaces easier to inspect, although the TV’s ports and input support still need checking.
  • Budget replacement: Investigate the Amazon 2-series or an HD Samsung listing, but compare the delivered price, resolution and warranty rather than only the headline star score.
  • UK buyer wanting QLED: Put the TCL V5D on the shortlist, then verify current stock, platform, ports and whether its 60 Hz specification suits your use.
  • Gaming: Use TechRadar’s gaming category where it covers the LG 32LQ6300 and TCL S5400, then seek model-specific latency and compatibility information. Do not assume that any 32-inch smart TV is optimized for a current console.

Which tempting alternatives need extra checking?

Some surfaced models are useful comparisons but should not be presented as confirmed picks without more SKU-specific verification.

  • Samsung Q60D: TechRadar includes it in its comparison table, but the available information does not confirm that the compared model is a 32-inch purchase option. Check the size and regional model number before treating it as a candidate.
  • Samsung F6000F and H5000F: Best Buy listings distinguish a Full HD F6000F from an HD H5000F. Similar naming does not mean the same resolution or software, so open the exact listing.
  • Samsung H5020: Samsung UK has a page for a 2025 32-inch HD smart TV. Its stated security-update period is model-specific: at least five years from launch, with December 31, 2030 given as the end date. It is not evidence for other Samsung televisions or regional SKUs.
  • Hisense A4S: Currys lists a 32-inch HD Ready model at 60 Hz and showed 4.8/5 from 557 reviews in its October 25, 2026 snapshot. This is a UK retailer listing and review average, not a controlled comparison with the other models.

These examples underline why a family name, retailer rating or single-market recommendation is not enough to build a global top five. Verify the exact model and specifications on the manufacturer’s regional page or manual, then check the seller’s current stock and listing.

Common buying mistakes

  • Mixing countries: A UK TCL or Samsung listing may have a different tuner, apps, warranty and suffix from a US product.
  • Confusing diagonal size with resolution: Two 32-inch TVs can be 720p and 1080p respectively.
  • Combining ratings: A TechRadar 4/5 is not mathematically interchangeable with a Currys 4.6/5 or Roku 4.8/5.
  • Ignoring review dates: Counts and averages change as new owners post reviews.
  • Assuming a platform guarantees every app: Catalogs and features are regional and can change.
  • Buying from an incomplete listing: Search-result snippets may omit ports, dimensions, refresh rate or the exact variant.
  • Calling a family a single product: Roku Select, Samsung F6000F/H5000F and similar families include different resolutions or markets.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will security updates continue for the Samsung H5020?

Samsung UK’s 2025 product page specifies at least five years of security updates from launch and gives December 31, 2030 as the end date. That commitment applies to the H5020 model described on that UK page, not automatically to other Samsung TVs.

Does a 32-inch smart TV always have the same apps in every country?

No. App availability can depend on the TV’s platform and region. Confirm the specific services you need on the local model before buying.

Why do the review totals for one TV differ between search results and a product page?

Retailer and manufacturer review panels change as customers submit reviews and may refer to different variants or listings. Treat a count as a dated snapshot, and check the exact product page and model it covers.

Is Full HD worth paying for on a 32-inch TV?

It depends on viewing distance and use. Full HD provides 1080p rather than 720p and can help with text, subtitles and close-up viewing. From farther away, HD may be adequate. Compare the exact price and specification of the two variants.

Which of these is the safest all-round starting point?

TechRadar’s October 22, 2026 guide names the LG 32LQ6300 its best 32-inch TV for most people, with 4/5 scores for picture, sound, smart TV and menus, and gaming. Confirm that the same regional SKU is sold where you live.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Are Roku’s 4.8/5 and Currys’ 4.6/5 directly comparable?

No. They are review averages from different panels, markets and model listings. Use them as owner-feedback snapshots, record the review count and date, and do not treat them as controlled test scores.

What should I verify if I want to wall-mount one of these TVs?

Check the manufacturer’s manual for the exact regional model’s mounting pattern, weight and hardware requirements. The available listings do not establish one universal pattern or compatibility for every candidate.

Does a 60 Hz specification tell me whether a TV is good for gaming?

No. It states the listed refresh rate but does not provide input-lag, motion or console-compatibility results. Look for model-specific gaming evidence; TechRadar supplies a gaming score only for the models covered in its comparison.

The Bottom Line

Choose by market and exact SKU, not by the 32-inch label alone. The LG 32LQ6300 is TechRadar’s tested all-round pick, while the Amazon 2-series is its budget alternative and the TCL S5400 is a UK alternative. Roku Select, TCL V5D and Samsung or Hisense models can also make sense when their local resolution, apps, ports, support terms and current price match your needs. Separate HD from Full HD, editorial scores from owner averages, and dated snapshots from lasting specifications before you buy.
