Beast of Reincarnation’s current documented New Game Plus (NG+) support confirms that equipment, outfits, and skins carry over. The publisher has not released a complete table saying which other categories reset, so key items, Amber, materials, facilities, shrines, opened chests, quests, and achievement-related progress should not be treated as definitively retained or erased. Update to the current platform patch, read the in-game transition notice, and keep your existing clear save if your platform allows it before starting NG+.
What carries over in Beast of Reincarnation NG+?
Fictions’ cross-platform patch notes explicitly add support for carrying over equipment, outfits, and skins when starting New Game+. That is the only exhaustive carry-over statement currently published by the developer. It confirms the three categories, but it does not promise every subtype, upgrade level, cosmetic variation, or related inventory state.

What is still unknown about resets?
There is no current official transfer table for the rest of your save. Silence in the notes is not proof that a category resets, and it is not proof that it carries over. Treat each item below as unresolved unless the game’s own NG+ confirmation screen gives you a more specific rule.

The safest description is therefore “confirmed gear and cosmetics, unconfirmed everything else,” not “only gear carries over.” A future patch or an in-game prompt could clarify additional categories.
Which version supports the current NG+ behavior?
Fictions’ cross-platform notes identify PS5 v1.013.000, Xbox Series X|S v1.1.02, and Steam v1.1.02. A separate GAME FREAK/Happinet announcement dated October 26, 2026 describes the update as completed and shows 1.1.2.0 formatting for Xbox and Steam. Because platform labels differ, use the installed title-screen number rather than trying to convert one format into another.
- Launch the game and reach the title screen.
- Look at the version number in the bottom-right corner.
- Compare it with the platform identifier in the current Fictions notes.
- If the number is older or different, close the game and let the platform check for updates before starting NG+.
- Read the NG+ confirmation text in-game; it is the most immediate notice for your installed build.
Physical and digital copies are expected to download updates when launched, but patch timing can vary by platform. Fictions’ page carries October 20 metadata, while the completion announcement is dated October 26, so the page metadata should not be treated as the rollout date.

Do I lose my gear in New Game Plus?
No. On the documented current patch, equipment, outfits, and skins are specifically supported for carry-over. The notes do not guarantee that every upgrade, enhancement material, or hidden equipment-related flag follows automatically, so check your inventory after the opening sequence.

Equipment
Keep your preferred loadout and any alternatives you expect to use for a different difficulty. Because the notes name the category rather than each subtype, avoid interpreting the statement as a promise about every enhancement tier or unlisted equipment state.
Outfits and skins
Cosmetic carry-over is broader than a single costume slot: both outfits and skins are named. The update also adds outfit changes at Campsites and through the Cleanse Walker Bed Menu, and it mentions discoverable pattern variations. Those access points may still need to be reached again in the new run even when the cosmetic collection is retained.
How should I protect completion progress before NG+?
Use a record-and-compare approach rather than assuming a universal reset. This is precautionary advice, not evidence that a particular backup system exists.
- Retain your existing clear save when the platform offers a separate slot or manual save choice.
- Record equipment, outfits, skins, Amber, materials, consumables, skills, facility upgrades, shrine discoveries, chest locations, and achievement counters that matter to you.
- Note which quests and route-specific objectives are complete, especially those tied to zones that can be skipped.
- Start NG+ only after reading the confirmation prompt and checking that the correct clear save is selected.
- After the opening section, compare inventory, menus, map markers, and facility screens with your record.
- If a value is missing, avoid overwriting the old clear save until you decide whether to continue or restore it.
This method distinguishes three states that are easy to confuse: an achievement already registered to your account, a map marker showing a discovery, and the route opportunity to earn the achievement again.
Can I change Reincarnation+ difficulty?
Yes. Older claims that NG+ forces one locked difficulty are outdated. The v1.1.00/v1.011.000 notes state that the default Reincarnation+ setting corresponds to Normal, with Hard, Very Hard, and Ruthless options, and that difficulty can be changed during play. Choosing a setting
- Normal: the default Reincarnation+ baseline identified by the patch notes.
- Hard or Very Hard: suitable when retained equipment makes the opening too easy but a higher challenge is still wanted.
- Ruthless: the most demanding listed option; choose it only if you want the run’s difficulty to be part of the challenge.
Because difficulty is changeable, select a setting that fits your immediate goal rather than restarting solely to correct the initial choice.
Should I choose Hasten to the Capital or Mountain Route?
Choose Mountain Route when you need access to every zone or are hunting achievements. Choose Hasten to the Capital when speed matters more than revisiting three optional areas.
After Great Wall Terraces, the later official update allows the Hasten option to bypass:
- Pilgrim’s Zone
- Matsukawa Colony Zone
- Fuji Frontier Zone
The update notes say achievements obtainable in those zones cannot be earned on a New Game run that skips them, but they can still be earned in NG+ by choosing Mountain Route. Read the route details in the official v1.1.01/v1.012.000 notes.

Were earlier NG+ bugs fixed?
Yes, at least one documented NG+ acquisition issue was corrected. The v1.1.01/v1.012.000 notes say the problem preventing acquisition of the Keeper Golem’s Manual: Explosive Arrow in NG+ was fixed. Reports made before that fix should not be presented as current behavior.

A later September update also made almost all event scenes and cutscenes skippable and stopped previously viewed Tips from appearing from NG+ onward. A few scenes were described as unskippable in that update, so “every scene can be skipped” is too broad.
What does the end of regular updates mean for NG+?
Fictions and GAME FREAK describe this as the ninth post-launch update and the end of the regularly scheduled update cadence. That is an ordinal statement about the update program, not a promise that all support has ended permanently. Keep the installed version current and rely on the title-screen number when checking behavior.

The hierarchy matters when sources disagree:
- Current official patch notes: strongest evidence for equipment, outfits, skins, route behavior, difficulty changes and named bug fixes.
- Older walkthroughs: useful indications of how a PS5 build behaved, but not guarantees for current cross-platform versions.
- Independent guides: potentially useful for chest or shrine observations, but conflicting reports mean those states remain unresolved.
That distinction prevents a common mistake: turning one guide’s observation about an opened chest or shrine into a universal reset rule.
What should a completionist do?
Keep the clear save, document the categories you care about, install the current patch, and choose Mountain Route for any achievement tied to the three bypassable zones. Equipment, outfits and skins are the only categories explicitly guaranteed by the current notes; every other category should be verified in your own save after the NG+ transition.

Does New Game Plus preserve my achievement trophies?
An achievement already awarded to your platform account is separate from the save data used to earn it. The unresolved issue is whether a route, map marker or quest opportunity is available again, so use Mountain Route when an achievement depends on one of the three bypassable zones.

Can I replay scenes quickly in NG+?
The September update made almost all event scenes and cutscenes skippable and stopped previously viewed Tips from appearing from NG+ onward. It also retained a small number of unskippable scenes, so expect exceptions.
Is the PS5 physical edition sold worldwide?

Do I need a special controller for New Game Plus on PC?
No special controller is required for NG+. The latest PC update adds touchpad and button-icon support for the DualSense wireless controller, which is an optional input choice.

Why does my version number look different from the patch notes?
The notes use PS5 v1.013.000 and Xbox/Steam v1.1.02, while the October 26 announcement displays 1.1.2.0 for Xbox and Steam. Compare the number shown at the bottom-right of your title screen with the platform-specific note instead of treating formatting differences as a missing update.
