As of October 30, 2026, Bad Ice Cream Triple Scoop is announced for Nintendo Switch but has not been released. Nitrome has not announced a launch date or price. The clearest confirmed Switch feature is local play for one to four players using wireless controllers; the exact button map and Joy-Con setup are still unknown.
The collection brings together all three numbered games and adds remastered stages, new levels and other content. Here’s what the announcement establishes—and what Switch players should not assume yet about modes, controls, online play, or saves.
What is the release status of Bad Ice Cream Triple Scoop on Switch?
Bad Ice Cream Triple Scoop is an upcoming collection from developer and publisher Nitrome Limited. It is announced for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The Steam listing describes the game as “Coming soon,” and no release date or launch window has been announced. The price and availability of a physical Switch edition have not been confirmed either.
Nitrome says the remastered presentation runs at 60 frames per second. That is the publisher’s announced specification, not an independent performance result. It does not establish how the game will perform in every Switch mode or under every play condition.

These unknowns matter if you are deciding whether to wait, budget for the game, or buy extra hardware for multiplayer. There is not enough confirmed information to plan around a launch date, a price, a cartridge release, or a particular controller arrangement.
What is included in the Triple Scoop collection?

The wider arenas, new enemies, traps, and boss encounters announced for Triple Scoop could change how stages ask players to use those barriers. However, Nitrome has not described the specific mechanics or difficulty of the new encounters, nor published enough detail to explain how each addition changes the trilogy’s original levels. Treat the feature list as a description of announced content, not a complete level guide.
For players unfamiliar with the series, the useful distinction is that this is not described simply as a fruit-collecting game. Ice is an active tool for managing enemy movement and creating a route through a stage. What modes and platform features are confirmed?
The PC Steam listing and Switch announcement describe different platform details. Features listed for Steam should not be treated as confirmed Switch features.

What are the Nintendo Switch controls?

Does Bad Ice Cream Triple Scoop have online multiplayer or cross-play?
No online multiplayer, cross-play, or Nintendo Switch Online support for this title has been announced. The confirmed Switch multiplayer description is local play on the same system, so do not treat it as a promise that friends can join over the internet.
Nitrome has not announced cross-play between Switch and Steam. Steam Remote Play Together on the PC listing is a separate platform feature and does not establish cross-platform play with a Switch copy. Nintendo also says save data is generally associated with the individual user account selected on the console, so returning players should launch the game under the user they used before.
Because Triple Scoop has not been released, its specific save slots, autosave behavior, manual-save options, and compatibility with Nintendo backup features have not been documented. Do not infer that Switch supports cloud backup because the Steam listing includes Steam Cloud for the PC version; that listing detail applies to Steam, not automatically to Nintendo Switch.

Several details that affect buying and playing decisions remain open. Before purchasing or organizing a multiplayer session, check Nitrome’s announcements and the final Nintendo eShop listing for the specifics relevant to you.
- Release and price: confirm the launch date, regional price, and whether the game is actually available in your region.
- Physical format: look for an explicit confirmation of a boxed edition; none has been confirmed so far.
- Controllers: verify the final button map, player-to-controller arrangement, and whether detached Joy-Cons are supported.
- Modes: distinguish local same-system play from any later-announced online features.
- Save handling: check the game’s instructions for its own save behavior rather than assuming that platform-level guidance describes every in-game option.

Can I delete or archive the Switch download without losing my save?
