How do I back up BioWare saves on a Windows PC?
Close the game completely, locate the exact title folder under your user Documents directory, and copy that entire folder to a separate drive. Do not rely on a single visible save file: the surrounding folder structure and companion files can be required by the game.

These paths are title-specific examples, not a guarantee that every BioWare release uses the same directory. If the exact release is not listed, inspect the game’s own documentation or search the DocumentsBioWare parent folder for a recently modified title folder rather than dropping files into a similarly named game.
Should Steam Cloud or EA app cloud remain enabled?
Usually, yes: leave supported cloud features enabled after making the manual copy, but verify support for the exact release. Steam states that many games do not use Steam Cloud to store saves, and developers control which files are uploaded. An icon or cloud setting for one release does not prove that every edition of the franchise is covered.

How do I back up BioWare saves on PlayStation?
On PS5, upload the saved data from Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings. PlayStation Plus cloud storage is a network copy of saved data, not a folder you browse like Windows files.

How do Xbox cloud saves work for BioWare games?

Before replacing or resetting an Xbox
- Confirm that the console is signed in to the Microsoft account used to play the BioWare game.
- Connect the console to the internet.
- Launch the game and allow enough time for the save synchronization to complete before exiting.

PlayStation restoration
Use Download or Delete from Cloud Storage from the appropriate PS5 or PS4 saved-data menu. Do not delete local data first. If the console is already showing a newer local version, preserve it when the interface allows, then download the cloud version only after confirming that it is the one you want.
Xbox restoration
Sign in to the original Microsoft account, connect to the internet and allow the account cloud synchronization to complete. Do not interpret the absence of a manually browsable file as a failed backup; Xbox’s normal recovery path is synchronization to the signed-in console.

Can I transfer Dragon Age or Mass Effect saves between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox?
Not by default. Cloud synchronization and cross-platform portability are separate features, and support is decided by the individual game, release and platform combination.
Steam notes that not all games use cross-platform cloud integration. PlayStation’s transfer instructions describe PlayStation saved-data paths and upload/download operations, not a general BioWare export format. A later-game world-state, account setting or story import feature is not automatically the same as importing a raw PC, PlayStation or Xbox save file.

The game offers an old or unexpected save
Exit without saving over it. Compare the dated manual copies and cloud candidates, then restore the version with the intended progress. A cloud conflict can contain two legitimate but different timelines.
PlayStation shows no expected PS4 save
Choose Saved Data (PS4), not only Saved Data (PS5), and use the manual cloud download option. PS4 saved data may not appear on console storage until that download is completed.
Xbox does not show the save after a console change
Check the Microsoft account, connect to the internet and launch the game long enough for synchronization. Do not reset the old console or repeatedly create new saves on the replacement until the account and sync status are confirmed.
