A documented historical match for an Asetek Gen5 pump in a 360mm AIO is the Fractal Celsius S36. Asetek supplies cooling technology used in partner-branded products; it does not identify one current retail cooler simply called “Asetek 360mm Gen5.” Treat Gen5 as a pump-generation label and 360mm as a radiator size, and verify both against the exact model before buying.
What “Asetek 360mm Gen5 AIO” means
The phrase combines three different details: Asetek is the cooling technology supplier, Gen5 identifies a pump generation, and 360mm describes the radiator class. Asetek directs shoppers to OEM partner products and says to look for its “Cooled by Asetek” designation. That wording can help identify an Asetek-based cooler, but it does not by itself establish the pump generation or radiator size.
Which 360mm AIO is documented as Gen5?
Fractal Celsius S36
GamersNexus identified the Fractal Celsius S36 as a 360mm cooler and described the Celsius series as using an Asetek Gen5 pump in its May 2017 review (review). This is evidence of a historical model match, not proof that the S36 is currently in stock, covered by a current warranty, or compatible with a particular system.
Why the model name alone is not enough
Asetek’s published generation overview covers newer generations, including Gen7 and Gen8, but is not a complete archive of Gen5 products. Historical reporting identifies Gen5 pumps in NZXT Kraken X42, X52 and X62 models; those are not 360mm coolers. Asetek’s Kraken X-series page identifies the X72 as a 360mm model but does not specify its pump generation. Do not infer that the X72 is Gen5 from those sources.
#1 Best Overall
- Simple, High-Performance All-in-One CPU Cooling: Renowned CORSAIR engineering delivers strong, low-noise cooling that helps your CPU reach its full potential
- Efficient, Low-Noise Pump: Keeps your coolant circulating at a high flow rate while generating a whisper-quiet 20 dBA
- Convex Cold Plate with Pre-Applied Thermal Paste: The slightly convex shape ensures maximum contact with your CPU’s integrated heat spreader, with thermal paste applied in an optimised pattern to speed up installation
- RS120 ARGB Fans: RS ARGB fans create strong airflow and high static pressure, with easy ARGB control via a compatible motherboard. CORSAIR AirGuide technology and Magnetic Dome bearings ensure great cooling performance and low noise
- Easy Daisy-Chained Connections: Reduce the wiring in your system by daisy-chaining your RS ARGB fans and connecting them to just one 4-pin PWM fan header and one +5V ARGB header
Radiator size and pump generation must be checked separately. Confirm the exact model and revision in manufacturer documentation or another reliable model-specific source rather than relying on the brand, product family or “Cooled by Asetek” label alone.
Check compatibility before buying
A 360mm radiator is only one part of the fit question. Verify the processor socket, the cooler’s included mounting hardware and the case’s radiator clearance independently. Asetek offers retention ring kits and installation guidance for multiple cooler generations and sockets, but a kit’s listed support does not apply automatically to every Asetek-based AIO.

- CONTACT FRAME FOR INTEL LGA1851 | LGA1700: Optimized contact pressure distribution for longer CPU life and better heat dissipation
- ARCTIC's P12 PRO FAN: More power at any speed - more powerful and quieter than the P12, especially at low speeds. Higher maximum speed for optimal cooling performance under high load
- NATIVE OFFSET MOUNTING FOR INTEL AND AMD: Shifting the cold plate center towards the CPU hotspot ensures more efficient heat transfer
- INTEGRATED VRM FAN: PWM-controlled fan that lowers the temperature of the voltage converters and thus ensures reliable performance
- INTEGRATED CABLE MANAGEMENT: The PWM cables of the radiator fans are integrated in the sheathing of the hoses so that only a single visible cable is connected to the motherboard
For example, Asetek’s AM4/AM5 premium retention-kit information describes mounting compatible Asetek-based coolers and names partner brands with Gen7-or-earlier technology. NZXT’s Kraken G12 compatibility page likewise lists model-specific support and cautions that compatibility depends on a particular circular mounting interface. These examples are reasons to check the exact cooler, not guarantees that any given kit will fit.
- CPU socket and brackets: Confirm the motherboard socket and that the required retention hardware is included or available for the exact cooler.
- Case clearance: Check that the case supports a 360mm radiator and three 120mm fans; account for radiator thickness, fan placement and tube orientation.
- Model and revision: Verify the pump generation and product revision using model-specific documentation.
- Condition: For a used AIO, ask about its operating condition and inspect whether mounting parts and accessories are present. A historical model identification does not establish that a particular unit still functions.
- Warranty and seller terms: Confirm coverage and return terms for the exact unit and seller. The historical S36 reference does not establish current warranty support.
Asetek’s information does not establish a replacement pump for the Celsius S36. Do not assume a pump or retention-kit replacement is available without confirming it for that model.

How to compare it with another 360mm AIO
The available historical identification does not provide a controlled current performance comparison between the Celsius S36 and newer alternatives. Avoid ranking coolers on that basis. Compare the factors that affect your build and use case:
