The same October 3 roundup also relays a supply-chain estimate for the first foldable iPhone and early, unquantified complaints from some iPhone 18 Pro owners. Here is what is reported—and what remains uncertain.
What is reportedly coming on October 13?
MacRumors, summarizing Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, reported that Apple could introduce three smart-home products on Tuesday, October 13, 2026: a long-rumored home hub, a new HomePod mini, and a new Apple TV. Apple had not confirmed the announcement or lineup in that October 3 report. Gurman did not specify whether the introduction would be at an event or through another format; an event was only raised as a possibility.
The roundup also reported that Apple retail stores had received confidential boxes marked “Do Not Open Until October 8.” Their purpose was unclear, so the boxes do not establish what Apple plans to announce. MacRumors’ October 3 roundup is the source for these reports.
What is the rumored Apple home hub?
The rumored device is described as a square display roughly 6 inches across, intended for either countertop placement or wall mounting. Those are reported design details, not Apple-published specifications.

What does the foldable iPhone production report say?
MacRumors relayed a Jiemian News report that cited a person described as close to Foxconn’s supply chain. That unnamed source reportedly put final assembly yield for Apple’s first foldable iPhone at slightly above 60% as of September 17, 2026. The source said reaching mature yield under Apple’s current quality requirements could take another six months to a year, and described adjustments to equipment, assembly processes, and production settings.

MacRumors also attributed to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that John Ternus, described in the roundup as having been CEO for one month, was considering organizational changes intended to accelerate development and increase product frequency. The reported proposals included a broader device range, a leaner organization with more engineering focus, less reliance on spring and fall release cycles, and a more experimental approach in response to AI competition.
