The Anycubic Photon D2 is a compact DLP resin printer aimed at small, detailed models—not a machine for printing large parts in one piece. Anycubic lists a 1.58 L build volume, 165 × 131 × 73 mm print dimensions, and a 2560 × 1440 projector. It uses four-point manual leveling and USB input rather than Anycubic Cloud. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent proof of print quality or reliability.
What the Photon D2 is—and what its specifications tell you
The Photon D2 uses digital light processing (DLP) to expose resin. Anycubic lists these specifications on its product page; the page’s publication date is not stated, and the values were accessed in 2026.
| Specification | Anycubic-listed value |
|---|---|
| Printing technology | DLP resin printing |
| Print volume | 1.58 L |
| Print dimensions | 165 × 131 × 73 mm (HWD) |
| Projector resolution | 2560 × 1440 |
| Exposure time | ≥2.5 seconds per layer |
| Leveling | Four-point manual leveling |
| Rated power | 15 W |
| Data input | USB Type-A 2.0 |
| Cloud service | Unsupported for Photon D2 |
| Machine dimensions | 430 × 236 × 226 mm (HWD) |
| Machine weight | 4 kg |
Check the stated print dimensions against the model you want to make, particularly its height: a model that exceeds the build envelope cannot be printed as one piece. The projector’s pixel count is a specification, not a direct measure of the finished part’s detail. The available material does not establish independent Photon D2 output tests with a transparent method, so advertised precision claims should not be treated as verified results.
Is the Photon D2 worth it for your prints?
A reasonable fit for small models
The compact build envelope makes the D2 relevant if your typical work consists of small models and you value a DLP resin workflow. Consider the model’s dimensions, including supports and orientation, before choosing it; the 1.58 L volume does not mean every object of that volume will fit in a practical orientation.

- Compatible Model: The integrated FEP release film replacement is designed for Anycubic Photon Mono 2K, Mono 4K, Photon Ultra, Photon D2 resin 3D printer, but it is not compatible with Mono 2 and Mono 4.
- Easy to Install: The One-Piece FEP release film is integrated design. The resin tank FEP film equips with a ring, which keeps it quicker and easier to replace the FEP film without cutting and also no need to disassemble the ring. Please read the manual on the package before install.
- High Transmittance: The transmittance of FEP film is more than 95%, which makes ultraviolet lighting more stable . You don't worry about the FEP film affecting the printing effect.
- High Temperature Resistant: The FEP film is high heat resistance and it can be able to work stably long term at 204 ° C. The FEP film is durable and service life is longer.
- Product Size and Package Included: 2PCS integrated FEP Release Film. The size of FEP film is 173x115.4x0.15mm.
Look elsewhere if you need larger single-piece prints
Its maximum listed dimensions are 165 × 131 × 73 mm. If your usual parts exceed those limits, you would need to split them into sections or choose a printer with a larger build area. There is not enough independently documented comparative testing here to call the D2 a performance leader or rank it against alternatives.
Resin choice and starting settings
A special DLP Craftsman resin is not established as mandatory. Anycubic publishes Photon D2 settings for multiple resin types, so use the profile for the specific resin you select rather than assuming all 405 nm photopolymer resins behave alike. Follow the resin’s manual and safety data sheet (SDS), and calibrate for your printer and conditions.

- Low Shrinkage & High Precision: ANYCUBIC UV resin prints the models with low shrinkage during the photocuring process, which ensures the high precision and smooth surface.
- Quick Curing & Strong Stability: ANYCUBIC photopolymer resin was specially developed to reduce the forming time with its extraordinary fluidity, and 3d model shows good stability in moist and corrosive environment after cured.
- Rigidity & Toughness: ANYCUBIC LCD resin has a good combination of hardness and toughness, which brings easy removal of the model and delivers accurate printing details.
- Multiple Colors & Universal Compatibility: ANYCUBIC standard resins are compatible with all DLP/LCD 3D printers, works best with ANYCUBIC LCD 3D printers, multiple colors for your choice. Take a full shake before use in order to have a fully mix the functional components and fully mix the color paste in the resin. Otherwise, uneven coloring of the print may occur.
- Safe & Secure Package: ANYCUBIC UV-Curing resin bottle is packed well in plastics bubble wrap, the cap is completely intact, surrounded by a tight-fitting air bag. No worries for leakage.
For DLP Craftsman resin, Anycubic Europe’s settings table lists the following Photon D2 starting parameters. The table’s publication date is not stated; the values were accessed in 2026.
| Parameter | Listed setting |
|---|---|
| Layer thickness | 0.05 mm |
| Exposure time | 2.5 seconds |
| Light-off time | 1 second |
| Bottom exposure | 28 seconds |
| Bottom layers | 5 |
These are settings for the named resin, not a guaranteed optimal recipe for every resin, machine, or environment. Other motion and anti-aliasing parameters are also included in Anycubic’s resin table.

Workflow, setup, and support
USB rather than cloud printing
Anycubic lists USB Type-A 2.0 as the D2’s data input and says Anycubic Cloud is unsupported for this model. Plan on a USB-based file workflow; do not assume the printer can receive jobs through Anycubic Cloud.
Manual leveling
The D2 uses four-point manual leveling. This means leveling is a hands-on setup task, rather than a process the listed specification describes as automatic.
